Unbeatable when all you need is a bed
rhoerz Nov 17, 2009
Good choice when all you need is a mediocre bed and a shower. However, [...] charged me $49 and the hotel had a sign in ... front advertising $45.

Disappointed Sep 23, 2009
From the outside, the hotel looks very nice. As soon as you walk through the doors though, it doesn't take long before you ... realize this is just another old rundown property still trying to make a little money. There was a funky smell all around the inside of the hotel and in my room. After the last reservation checks in for the night, the front desk closes and a big chain fence is pulled down over the front desk area (didnt give off a very warm fuzzy). My bed was hard as a rock and made all kinds of noises. The bedding seemed like it was very old. The hot and cold water knobs on the shower and sink were both backwards. The toilet flusher was coming loose from the tank. The refrigerator freezer was making noise all night long. Seemed like the walls were paper thin. I could hear everything going on in the rooms around me. I could hear people in the hallways talking all night long which kept me up or woke me up a few times. While free internet is advertised, it's not wireless and the hotel doesn't provide ethernet cables in the rooms, so you have to remember to bring your own ethernet cable or you're out of luck. The floor in my room was half carpeted and half tiled (seemed really odd).

Short drive to Congress Ave district, 6th street district. Shopping and great food all along both. Great way to enjoy "Keep Austin Weird"

10 minute drive to 6th street without traffic.

You can catch the bus at Oltorf and Parker and be downtown in 15 minutes, if you don't have a car.

Quiet, great location
Barbie Jul 16, 2009
Stayed 17 days hotel/staff great but always had to wait for towels to be cleaned. Had to request room clean several days ... before they came. Only received bed linen change once. For the money rooms are clean no bugs, safe, quiet and convenient to hospital, downtown/university activities. Major roads easy to access. Front doors close at 11:00 pm must have key to access, which is great no soliciting. Recommend stay all in all good. Mostly working travelers. Will go back.

You get what you pay for
Todd Sep 29, 2008
The place isn't much, but it's clean. Free internet access requires ethernet cable, which I didn't bring, so wasn't able to ... get online. It was hard to get the AC to keep the room at a comfortable temp - it was fine when I went to sleep, but I woke up from being too cold. There is no daily maid service, which I didn't mind.

A place to sleep
Taylor Aug 31, 2008
Rooms were adequate but well-worn. A lot of traffic up and down the halls all night. Would not voluntarily stay here again, ... but it was a place to sleep on a night when rooms were hard to find.
