Use the Deuce. It's a double decker bus that travels all along the strip in both directions stopping at every attraction. it's 7 dollars per person for 24 hours of travel. Definitely beats the taxi which cost an average of 30 dollars one way.

If you rent at this hotel make sure you rent a car. It helps to get you up and down the strip. Ask the employees for good places they seem to know their stuff.

Vegas Mom Nov 14, 2009

The hotel is a lot further off of the strip than we thought. If you don't want the hassel of traveling so much, try any other ... hotel. The rooms were tiny, the bed was uncomfortable, and the tv didn't work properly. We couldnt turn it off in the middle of the night. Shopping is not as good as other hotels. Highlights were the beautiful pool area, and the top of the world restaurant. But you could just as easily go to the restaurant not having stayed at this hotel. I would suggest something not in the crummy part of town, its all dirty and ghetto. Try the excalibur.

Even tho this was a good hotel its pretty far from the rest of the strip so make sure you rent a car if you plan to see the ... whole strip. Enjoy the thrill rides here because they are a blast. Take in a show or two they are good too. They hired some really good staff primarily around the front desk. The guy who helped me check in did a great job and i asked him about some good places. He did deliver. Fun and i would definately stay here again.

Frigid pool but hot lifeguard

phattuscattus Nov 13, 2009

Everything was good enough - not great but fine for the price, except for the pool. Although i had read claims that the pool ... was heated which were repeated by staff, if it is heated at all, it is like 1 degree over normal and it is not suitable for recreational swimming. It gets down to the 50s at night so the water gets quite cold, and if not a sunny day the pool during November is heartstoppingly cold. Since 90 percent of the reason i stayed there was for a heated pool, this was a major disappointment. lifeguard was quite cute, however.

Would recommend to a friend!

Stayed in hotel before, enjoy the location , not too busy and closer to freemont. Could offer better drink deals to ... residents, any cheap beer ($3) tasted flat and as if it had been watered down!

Horrible stay

Billybob Nov 10, 2009

First, we were placed in a room that was literally right next to the elevator, which would rumble quite loudly whenever it ... passed our floor. When I entered our room and opened the curtains to check out the view I noticed that we had a great view... OF A WALL DIRECTLY OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW that blocked seeing anything outside. Sleeping was a nightmare, as we had people all 3 nights of our stay yelling, laughing, and at one point it sounded like puking down the halls outside of our room at around 4:00 AM. The bed at least was comfortable, but it's a moot point when the noise level in the middle of the night is unacceptable. In the mornings, if you are on a lower floor forget about getting on the elevator in a timely fashion. I waited for 10 minutes, and every elevator coming down was cram packed with people coming down from the upper floors. I got tired of waiting and went for the stairs, where I ended up in a "restricted security zone". An officer who took his job a little too seriously escorted me out the back, where I had to walk all the way around to get back inside to meet up with my friends. All of this, and the attempts to nickel and dime me at every chance, was a big time turnoff. Wireless access for $12 dollars a day?! The only good thing about this stay was "The Top of the World" restaurant, which had excellent food and a fantastic view. However, we will never stay at the Stratosphere again.

better i guess....

Use the Deuce. It's a double decker bus that travels all along the strip in both directions stopping at every attraction. it's 7 dollars per person for 24 hours of travel. Definitely beats the taxi which cost an average of 30 dollars one way.

--Vegas Mom, OR Nov 14, 2009

Time savers hint

If you rent at this hotel make sure you rent a car. It helps to get you up and down the strip. Ask the employees for good places they seem to know their stuff.

--Rick, Hugo, MN Nov 11, 2009

Entertainment hint, Long Walk

If you plan to do any shopping outside the hotel and do not have transportation. You have a long walk ahead of you to enjoy shopping and the attraction of Las Vegas strip.

Stay as close to all the shopping as you can so you don't have to take the taxi cab rides. Quit pricey. The stratosphere is very nice and had a lot to offer. Would probably stay closer to the Strip next time

--Value shopper, Baton Rouge, LA Nov 10, 2009

Nightlife hint

Walking the strip is fun . but by the time your done you are all the way across town from your hotel. the bus in town is only 7 dollars for 24 hours and helps when your feet are sore and need a rest

--Vegas Friends, Hanford, ca Nov 9, 2009

Nightlife hint, Long Walk

Quite far from the action of the Strip.

--Unhappy guest, Ontario, Canada Nov 6, 2009

Time savers hint, Long Walk

take the duce bus line, it takes you up & down the entire strip with lots of stops so you can hop off wherever you like! the secret though is to go to one of the ticket booths & buy a 3 day pass. its better for your money that way but you can only get it at a few stops, so just ask the driver where one is. we got ours right in front of SLOTS OF FUN which is next door to circus circus you cant miss it. 3 day all access pass was only $15

--nl, Michigan Nov 6, 2009

--Tired Traveler, Oregon Nov 2, 2009

Money savers hint

We bought a 24 hour ticket for the Deuce. It is a public bus transit system that is very reasonable ($7 for 24 hours and they have 3 day passes, too). We used it to go to Freemont St. and then to travel up and down the strip. But it is not the fastest way to get around, so keep that in mind!

--Maine Missals, Woolwich, Maine Nov 2, 2009

Money savers hint, Short Walk

Take the bus that runs up and down the strip if you are alone or in a group of less than 4 as it is cheap to get down to the strip and back if you have a few extra minutes.
