Don't Even Think About It!

Enjoyed sightseeing, dining, drinking, and the beach. We went in the off season on Thursday night the bar closed at 10:00 p.m. ... On Saturday night the bar closed at 12:45, but the bar tender let the locals stay. The bar next to the hotel was open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but closed Friday and Saturday. Two people were staying in the room, and the maid service always left only two towels, but never wash cloths or cups! The microwave wouldn't pop popcorn, the lock on the door did not work properly, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the bathroom door would not shut all the way and was falling apart at the bottom, the closet door would not stay on the tracks and was rusted. We paid for a beachfront room with a balcony. We did get the beachfront room, but it was not a balcony it was a walkway. There are only 9 rooms at this hotel with a balcony, but they are not beachfront! I think that the picture of the room that is shown on their web site must have been taken when the hotel was new, because it looks nothing like what they show on their web site.

The sightseeing is great! Alligator farm, Lighthouse, the old fort, the Fountain of Youth, Tons of things to see in the old city. Most things, food and shops are a bit pricey, but that is to be expected.

Tried to stay away from the resort as much as possible. Nothing was there that could have made us stay longer. In fact we ... departed earlier than we were scheduled to, even though we paid. Was to sickening to spend anymore time there then we did. This was the worse place we have ever stayed in. I wouldn't recommend it to a homeless person. They would be better off sleeping on the street. The street is cleaner!

The hotel looks nothing like the website pictures. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, when we checked in there were ... no towels in our room. The room smelled it was a bad experience. For the price, pay the extra $15 to $20 bucks and go to a better hotel!!!

Worst for the money
Unsatisfied Sep 8, 2009
The rooms are nasty and outdated. The furniture in our room had water damage. The bed skirts were not clean the sheets were ... so thin you could see through them. The carpet was so dirty your feet would get black from walking on it. The door to the room was so rusty you could see under it. This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. Its rating is way to high and is closer to a One than a Two star. If I knew the rooms looked like this I would have never rented a room here. The room in the brochuer I would like to know where that one is because it was none of the rooms I was able to see. This is not the beach hotel you want to visit.

I was happy to find a hotel on the beach of St. Augustine but when I got there the ball dropped. It was little more then a ... hotel for the various frat parties and beach bum surfers that don't really care if there place is a rat hole. I was VERY disappointed. Not only were the walls, electrical sockets and bathroom fixtures not even close to being addiquate, the staff had little sympathy for my plight and I was left to fend for myself. To top the night, the electric key reader for the door broke not once but twice and no offer to move me was ever given. BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT STAY IN THE ST> AUGUSTINE BEACH RESORT!! for my $130.00 I'll go stay at Motel 6 !!

US and our kids Sep 5, 2009
The view was beautiful! We are so close to the beach. But, the room was nasty! I asked for extra towels and they arrived ... almost an hour last by a lady smoking a cigarette! Also, while walking back to our room there was a mouse running around by the doors! The pool was ok, had a cool kiddie area.. that was "out of order". So we didn't get to use that. The beds were horrible, and the ac was either too cold or too hot the entire night. Should have been a lot cheaper lol!

An old and smelly resort
Very disappointed mom Jun 18, 2009
We have a bad experience with the resort. The room they gave us at first was dirty, old and the front door was busted and it ... smells. I have to complained about the condition of the room and when I asked them to give me a different one, they said they are going to upgrade us but will cost us $20.00 extra. I said that's fine as long as the room is clean and doesn't smell. They gave us another room but the key didn't work. So finally, when we are about to go to a different hotel, they gave us a new renovated room and since it took us 2 hours just to check-in, they said there's no charge for this upgrade. The resort is definitely not a 4 stars as noted. I wouldn't go back there even if it's for free. And also, we didn't get a chance to use their pool because they let pets go swimming with the owners. That's disgusting.

YOU COULD NOT WALK ON THE BEACH AT ALL. THE ROOM SMELLED, WAS AFRAID TO SLEEP ON THE SHEETS, SO SLEPT ON THE BEDSPREAD. WAS GLAD WHEN OUR 1 NIGHT WAS OVER.
