Great Location for the price
AntNee May 2, 2009
The hotel was great, the location is perfect because it is away from the strip where the night life is. The food is probably ... 3.5 stars. As compared to the states but for there it was actual very good. The bay beach is beautiful, the little shops are good just like any other Island. But I had left my cell phone in the room when I called back for the hotel staff to retrive it for me no one new any thing about it and I even left a $20.00 tip for the cleaning crew.

THE FACADE OF THIS HOTEL SEEMS AS THE BEST IN TOWN ,BUT AS SOON YOU START DEALING WITH THE FRONT DESK PERSONNEL YOU KNOW ... SOMETHING 'S WRONG. THE ROOMS SUCKS: OLD AND HUMID, A/C NOISY (SOMETIMES DON'T WORK).ONLY ONE ELEVATOR AND SOMETIMES DON'T WORK, GYM'S OBSOLETE AND SMELLING, RUSTED EQUIPMENTS. NO VARIETY ON FOOD (PATIO' SNACK).THE SMALL BAR AT POOL, DOESN'T HAVE A GOOD LIQUOR, CHEAP STUFF, NO CHANGE IF YOU PAY CASH.WON'T FIND ANY KIND OF INFO OF EVENTS/CITY/SITE SEEING/RENT A CAR, ETC. DIDN'T EAT AT RESTAURANT BECAUSE THEY CHARGE TOO MUCH FOR WHATEVER THEY HAVE (SAW A BUFFETTE TYPE,)BREAKFAST WAS THE USUAL.IN GENERAL THIS DUMP IS NOT WORTH WHAT I PAID. A LOT OF GUESSES WERE COMPLAINTED ON THE SAME ISSUES.AH ALMOST FORGOT NO FRONT BEACH!!!!!!

not what it seems

I guess you get what you pay for. Nobody saw us to our room. When we opened our door, we found that both our rooms were ... occupied (lucky we are honest people). The air conditioner in our new room was broken. I will say, the repair guys were prompt and ended up bringing us a new air conditioner - twice. They also try to hard sell you on time shares. When I said no, they caught my elderly mother-in-law , then came to find me. Didn't I pay for this vacation? I have to say the room was lovely, but it didn't quite make up for all the rest. Also, if you happen to be driving, it is very difficult to locate. Sorry.

There are lots of bars right outside the resort, which we should have gone to. There is also food shops etc. On the good side, the resort had little buggies situated around the neighborhood to take you where you need to go.

Many bars and nightclubs in the area. If you are into the local scene. Also a club located right next to hotel owned by the hotel. Casino right next door to hotel as well. Although a resort you are not closed away from the rest of the country.

This is a good hotel for people of all ages. Would upgrade to a suite if more than two people. Although cozy the rooms are ... kind of small. The was some times of the day where the water temp. was a little cool but, with the heat in the Dominican Republic the cool shower is welcomed. The food at the hotel was great and there was plenty of variety. I am a picky eater and there was always something that I could eat. The pool areas are beautiful. The service is very accomodating wait staff and room service are promt and always freindly. If going into town to shop take the city tour. You visit great shops with descent prices and lunch is included. Make sure you exchange your money to pesos. The US dollar or any other currency is very scarce. If you prefer your own money carry alot of single dollars.

We had to call the reception to get hot water and wait for 30 min for our room to be ready even though we arrived at ... 3:30. Everything else was great.
