Wonderful off-season get-away

Lovin' skiing Oct 23, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Hotel was close to downtown, yet secluded from traffic. Shopping in historic downtown was convenient. I believe the hotel is ... only about one-half mile away. Yellowstone National Park is about 50 miles away. The hotel is within 1 mile of many forest running trails. Doing hobby work was challenging because the lighting in the room was dim.

We were upgraded to a Condo suite on Love Ridge. It was the life of the rich and famous. We didn't have to ask for anything ... because everything was already there. Beautiful scenery from our porch, and delux decor. In fifty years of world travel, this was the nicest room we've ever had.

Old Dog needs new trick

Cody Aug 25, 2009

The location is ok. Excellent if you're there for skiing in winter. But other hotels are right in town. For the price we ... paid at the time of year (early August) it just seemed way overcharged for the quality of the hotel. We needed to ask to switch rooms since the one they gave us was right by the pool and noisy. And for breakfast, simple eggs, toast etc. they were charging around $11 which is just obnoxious (we obviously drove to a much nicer and half the price diner). I know you're in a tourist town, blah, blah but that was just out of line. And the staff was ok but not outstanding.

Nice place

Traveling Mom Jul 28, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The ice, drink, and snack machines were only located on every other floor. As luck would have it, we were on one of the ... floors that didn't have anything on our level. To get to the pool you had to walk through the middle of the lobby, which was a little awkward. The elevator was extremely slow- not sure if there was a repair problem or not. The bathrooms were a little dingy looking and hadn't been updated in several years. The overall look of the hotel needed updating. It was in a very nice, quiet location. There were no loud guests and parking for us (5th floor) was pretty convenient although we did have to take the stairs most of the time because of the elevator. the resort was off to itself on a back street on the side of a mountain but pretty much in the center of town at the same time. We also had a good view of the side of the mountain. However most of the rooms overlook condos or parking.

Best Bang for Buck

New JH Lover! Mar 4, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We went to Jackson Hole with another couple. We stayed an extra night and that is when we visited Snow King Hotel. The ... first four nights we spent in a Condo in Teton Village. The condo was OK but it was VERY expensive. Plus we had a rental car so we really didn't need to stay in Teton Village. When we got to the snow king hotel we were shocked. I mean for the price of the room we were expecting motel quality. This was not the case. The snow king was decent with decor (infact, better than the expensive condo we stayed at) and the staff was exceptional. First off, we all tubed at snow king tubes practically next door and had a blast. Then, we asked about a restaurant that would serve good local game. The desk clerk sent us to the gun barrel and it was phenomenal. And before we were flying out I was wondering about the weight of my bags so they scrounged up a scale for me from one of the employees in order to help me out. They did all this with a smile on their face. And location is great. No, its not in teton village which is only really good for the skiing. In fact, if you are an expert skier, you'll want to ski snow king anyways as snow king is where all the more expert and locals ski. Note: IT IS NOT A BEGINNGER MOUNTAIN. In fact, I would shy first time skiers/boarders away from JH all together as the terrain is more advanced than other mountains I've been on (blue in JH = Black anywhere else). But besides snow king mountain, it is in JH the town which is quite lovely. This last day was the first time I got to go look around and explore and I loved it. I wanted to stay a week longer when we were at the Snow King because my experience was so extraordinary. If we had stayed there all 5 nights we would have saved 700.00! Ouch, oh well you live and you learn. Next time Snow King it is for us =P

My review of Snow King Resort

Jeane Oct 28, 2008

Would recommend to a friend!

The Snow King Resort was a wonderful hotel. My room was spacious, nicely furnished and very clean. The staff was friendly and ... courteous. They allowed pets in the hotel and provided a nice pet area to walk the dog and to just sit and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. We ate in the restaurant which offered a several interesting choices and the bar was lively and inviting. It was a great stay and I hope to return again some day.

The room was nice and ...

Mark Sep 29, 2008

Would recommend to a friend!

The room was nice and comfortable (particularly the bed), but there were little things that detracted from the stay. A TV ... remote with no direct channel access; less than reliable wireless internet with poor tech support (it's a large facility with many different wireless networks available, yet nobody could tell me which was the most reliable for my location, and was not available after 10 p.m. one night when I needed it); a broken ice machine on the floor with the nearest other one two floors away; a stuck elevator (that I was not in) when I arrived so I decided to use stairs for the most part (two flights); laundry facilities six floors away (on the lobby level); not a lot of parking (and unmarked spaces meant people tended to use more space than necessary, reducing available space further) so that when I returned after hours I had to park on a nearby street. I was in my room only in the evening hours, getting up and out before sunrise and coming back after the sun was down, so my time there was quite limited. The facility offered various facilities and amenities that I never used.

The Snow King Resort in Jackson, WY was amazing! What we got was the entire top apartment of a condominium! 2 bedrooms, 4 ... bathrooms, a complete kitchen, 2 fireplaces, 2 decks, washer and dryer, covered parking garage, ironing board and iron, sofa bed sleeper, a murphy bed and a complete home entertainment system! I'm glad we stayed for 2 nights. It would have been a shame to have it all for only 1 night!!

Lack of Responsibility

Gary Aug 31, 2008

The staff at Snow King Resort need to get their act together now or lose alot of business. The room size was just ... okay, nothing terrific. The bathroom was extremely small with one light fixture and an exhaust fan disconnected. We also had an entry light that constantly was burning out due to an electrical short. The second day of our visit one of only two elevators broke down and the staff refused to repair or simply put a sign up that warned guests, some people were stuck in there for at least a half hour at a time. I would never recommend this so called Resort to anybody.

This room is next an busy exit and has no soundproofing. The door was warped and allowed every little noise to enter the ... room. The room is very small but well appointed and a good value for the price I paid. I guess I got what I paid for.

It was a busy place as all the lawyers and realtors throughtout were there. Busy was handled very wel and we wre recieved by ... staff very nicely and they gave a very nice location for our stay. The only bummer was at 7;00 they started construction on the condos so there was no sleeping in.

Dining hint, Short Drive

My wife has food allergies and almost anything from a restaurant will cause her to be ill. We shopped at Albertsons and cooked in every night. Gourmet dining at 1/10th the restaurant price. The kitchen was second only to my own for being well equipped.

Money savers hint, Short Walk

Ask for their coupon book when you check in. We didn't get it until we were checking out. May have used some if we had it earlier.

Beginners be ware of snow sports in JH. Terrain is much harder than on other mountains. Expert Skiers: YOU HAVE TO COME HERE, you will have a blast. Check out Snow King Mountain as it is more steep and they even offer Night Skiing.... rock on!

Recreation/Attractions hint, Short Drive

It was a short drive to Yellowstone National Park and various ski areas. We found the town of Jackson Hole to be historically interesting with fun shops, boutiques, and restaurants.

Recreation/Attractions hint

There are many things to enjoy when you stay in Jackson, WY. Rafting on the Snake River, The eld Refuge, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, skiing, shopping and great entertainment. We especially loved the play at the Pink Garter Theater and the Chuckwagon dinner and entertainment at the Bar J Chuckwagon in nearby Wilson, WY.

Nightlife hint, Short Walk

Downtown Jackson, or as they say in Jackson, Uptown is just a few blocks away. Staying at this resort gets you out of the busy area, but close enough to walk to a nice eatery or do some shopping..

--Lorri, Knoxville, TN Aug 13, 2007

Shopping hint, Long Walk

Jackson is a really small town, everything is close by.

--Lisa, Dayton, OH Aug 12, 2007

Recreation/Attractions hint, Short Walk

The Alpine Slide will keep the kids happy all day long.

--Heidi, USA Aug 10, 2007

Dining hint, Long Walk

This hotel isn't necessarily close to anything, but certainly within a reasonably walk to the park, town square, restaurants, shopping.
