Fantastic experience
We stayed at the Smoke Tree for several days in December & were in love with the place from the beginning. We were ... sceptical, since the rates were so low, but were pleasantly surprised at how cozy and comfortable the entire place was. The non-corporate atmosphere was extremely refreshing (the family owners/managers were always on site) & it felt like a place we could actually live comfortably. The rooms were cozy, quaint, very quiet, & private. Nothing fancy, mind you, but pleasant, clean & very well kept. We're mostly picky about cleanliness, since we both have allergies, & the Smoke Tree was excellent. The grounds were also very well maintained and clean. they even have a stream flowing into a koi pond! Bigger, more well-known corporate resorts are right down the street, but are much noisier, more crowded, more attitude, & much more expensive. Overall this was a very relaxing experience, well suited for long stays or a short quiet rest.

Quick 2 Niter
Went to attend ASU graduation ceremonies on Thursday...stayed Wed & Thu nite and wanted a reasonable price. [...] Great ... location for walking to restaurants and stores. The rooms are small bungalows. We stayed in room 18 towards the back with 2 other adjoining rooms (only 1 of which was occupied during our stay). A few minor updates would have made this stay perfect - replace the cracked but still functionaltoilet seat, seal around the air conditioner unit to prevent outside draft,a dark window covering to block out the nightime lighting, and a towel hook on the back of the door to have a towel at the ready from the shower. I thought wi-fi was available but I wasn't able to pick up a good signal. Nice clean room with comfortable beds, small fridge, coffee maker, ironing board, and hair dryer. Very quiet stay for us although the hotel was not fully booked. I would definitley stay again with these few fixes.

What a wonderful property!
We didn't know what to expect because of the reasonable price. We were pleasantly surprised that the room was clean, quiet, ... located near a grocery store and was the only lodging this trip that had a flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator and additional furniture to make the place very inviting. We will always check this property 1st whenever spending a night in the Valley of the Sun.

A good choice
We felt the place was perfect for us. The location was central for all the places we wanted to see; the owners were helpful ... with information about the area around the resort, and we felt that we were far, far away the hustle even though we were only a couple of blocks away from a main highway.

Great little hidden gem
I booked this at the last minute, and was pleasantly surprised at how nice everything and everyone was. I was checked in by ... one of the owners, and walked to my room. The grounds are awesome...very mature landscaping, giving the feeling of being at a retreat. The room had a very nice feel to it, with comfortable furniture and the bed was great. They had Wi-fi so I could catch up on my work, and a nice flat screen TV to watch. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property to anyone, as the location is outstanding, the grounds relaxing and the staff accomodating beyond belief.
