The staff was real nice here when had a room on the street side and asked if we could switch to a beach side room and they ... had us switched to one the next fmorning. The beach is beautiful here as well, the only negative i can think of is they make you pay 7 bucks if you want shade at the beach. Me and my fiance would love to come again sometime

We had an excellent stay, we reserved the "King Suite", on the 5th floor, the view was great, the dinning/sitting area & ... bedroom were separate. The kitchenette was convenient. The fitness center was well equipped, there were 3 pools to choose from and the beach was close to the hotel.

Staff was friendly enough, but when registering we were not told they would put a $120.00 charge on debit card for incidental ... expenses. We were told they would charge the card, but not how much. Location is great! Hotel needs help! Shows as 3 stars, should be 1.

Great Beach
Ronnie Aug 24, 2009
We got there on Saturday afternoon, our room was ready and very clean. The staff was friendly, especially our front desk ... clerk, Yaya, fantastic personality and very pleasant. It rained the next day, so we couldn't enjoy the beach and water activities much. The compass room was good, we had the breakfast buffet, reasonably priced. Overall we enjoyed the accomodations and every single person in the staff that we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Not sure if we would go back to St. Pete but if we do, we would stay there again.

After doing a lot of research on hotels, we chose the Sirata Beach Resort and were not disappointed! The location was great ... and our one bedroom suite was very spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive and we will definately visit the hotel again! The only thing I wasn't pleased with was the fact that we had to pay $15 to rent beach chairs. We would've spent more time at the beach if we didn't have to pay the fee each day.

We would definately recommend GiGi's Italian restaurant to visitors! The food was wonderful and we even ordered pizza another day and it was delivered to our hotel room.

Great Beach Resort
Happy Guest Aug 10, 2009
The Sirata is such a terrific beach resort. The rooms are clean as well as spacious. The views are hard to beat. The beach is ... clean and beautiful. Some of the staff (mostly at the beach/pool bars) seemed like they would rather be anywhere else but at work, but we found most of the staff to be decent, especially [...] who worked at the beach bar and the main restaurant Compass Grille. He was over the top with service and personality. The other employees should take a few notes from him.The hotel is located in a terrific spot, you can literally walk anywhere. There is an affordable beach mart across the street for souvenirs and beach/pool needs. There is a Publix, Dollar Tree and liquor store to load up on groceries and avoid paying the high prices of hotel fare and beverages...although the Sirata is decently priced in comparison to other resports. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance as well.

The overall trip was great and we had a blast but there seemed to be a lot of things missing. For example, the hotel prides ... itself in its award winning service but they changed our hotel room from what we had ordered and then our 2nd room was still not what we ordered. Our "full kitchen" consisted of a microwave, fridge, and 2 small burners. Our "balcony" didn't even have doors that could be opened. We also looked forward to relaxing into the night. The hammocks are locked up early and the bars stop serving at 9:30. For a group of young adults, that doesn't go over well. While the three pools are spacious, finding a lounge chair was next to impossible.
Traveler type: Friends
You need to plan ahead because there really isn't much going on. Bars and clubs are practically empty, the bars at the resort stop serving at 9:30, and you will probably find yourself searching for something to do with little luck.

Experienced traveller Jul 28, 2009
I probably was expecting more of a 3 1/2 star hotel. The couch and carpet were deteriorated. I was afraid to lay down or sit ... directly on the couch or walk shoeless on the carpets. We were always covering the couch with a towel whenever we wanted to use it. Everything else was very good, the kitchen, tv, telephone, concierge staff was excellent, access to beach, pool, restaurant (excellent food), very good location, safe. I don't know if other rooms had better conditions.

Great relaxing getaway!
hannah Jul 27, 2009
We had a great time on our mini vacation, that was after we finally got in to our room. We arived at the hotel tired from ... our flight and ready to relax and enjoy ourselves but the front desk could not find our reservation. after over an hour they finally got us in a room and they did waive the parking fee and gave us a free caabana for our entire stay because of the mix up. The room that we got was an oceanfront king and it was an average hotel room but the view was GREAT!!! Both the room and the bathroom were very small but it was a good deal for the price. The hotel is in a wonderful location with several places to eat and drink close enough to walk. We would stay here again for the price and location.

We really enjoyed the hotel my husband and I could lay on the hammocks while the kids played on the playground! Location was ... perfect! It was very kids friendly from the playground to the kids eat free. Only problem was two of the three nights we had to ask for our room to be cleaned. Both times within the hour someone was up and the room was spotless! We will go back and would refer friends as well
