Nice getaway

They have two towers with names, but on the slip at the desk they called our tower the "new tower" which wasn't very ... helpful. We enjoyed the room and it was clean, but the food was pricy and a couple of the restaurants were closed because it is off season. The casino was nice but fairly small. You can't expect AC to be Las Vegas, but it was nice. Glad we had a car as we drove off of the island a lot to get cheaper food and to visit Ocean City. Best part was I won $200 in the casino.

Harjac Oct 29, 2009
The room was OK but not great. The chair cushions were broken down and uncomfortable- the bed was nice- the bathroom needed ... some repairs but nothing important. There was a plastic trinket under the pillow that made us wonder if the bed had been changed... Food was pricey but good. They make it very clear that you are not going to get good treatment until you upgrade your gaming card status by accumulating points.

The Hardrock had an Appetizer Sampler that fed us both with left-overs!

Many of the restaurants that were previously open 24/7 are now open only a few hours for lunch. It's tough to get a late night meal.

We both enjoyed our stay there. The one complaint that might be is the fact that there wasnt a breakfast buffet offered, plus ... there is not a buffet on Thursday evening. We had to go elsewhere to find one in a different hotel. But otherwise we enjoyed ourselves.

Clean hotel, parking sucks
ScoobyVick Oct 21, 2009
Hotel rooms were clean and the facilities were well maintained, however I took issue with the fact that was was charged $15 ... (!!!) to park if you weren't a "Diamond" or "Platinum" member. I had mentioned to the attendant that I was a guest and showed him my room reservation receipt and despite this he insisted that I had to pay the $15 the first time. I guess your room receipt will get you free parking after you check in. What doubly ticked me off was that the price for parking was on $15 at the time I checked in, it was $5 all the other times I saw the sign after that.
Traveler type: Family
To all the people who are staying there initially and who aren't "Diamond" or "Platinum" members, try this: Out front there is free customer parking, check in, then pull your car into the self-park garage. Otherwise you'll have to pay the parking fee which can be up to $15 on weekends.

Was in town for a conference. the main block of rooms was next door at the taj, but i got a much better rate here. Didnt ... spend terribly much time in the casino or the hotel in general but enjoyed myself enough. loved the big bath tubs... the bathroom in my room was beautiful. the rest of the room was your standard two bed room. There is a little sandwich shop type place in the hall by the bus stops that is decent and reasonably priced, and a starbucks right at the bottom of the orleans tower elevators. overall a pleasant experience

Stayed one night for a concert at the House of Blues (which is inside the hotel). Well worth the money for the convienence. ... It was cold and rainy outside so we got to avoid that by staying inside. Decent food choices and gambling.
Traveler type: Friends
If you go for a show at the House of Blues, eat in the House of Blues restaurant, you will get a ticket to 'pass the line' so you wait in a shorter line for the show! We ate around 5:30, doors opened at 7pm for the show so we got in line right at 7pm and walked right in to a front row spot - it was perfect.

Not a good place to stay, unsafe outside
CG from FL Oct 14, 2009
The room was clean, average. The place was in a bad location you did not dare go outside. We should have stayed in the ... central part of AC near Ceasars. The restrauants were closed in the hotel, so we had to eat at the small cafe and that was horrilbe the salad was brown lettuce and wet.... Would never recommend to stay there, was glad to leave early the next morning.

The Showboat Staff was very accomodating to our needs. We went to AC to celebrate my brother's 21st birthday, for the whole ... weekend. My husband and I had a very special cake made, which not only required transportation to and from our room to the Chophouse restaurant, but also repairs right before the big unveiling. My husband and I were very pleased to see that all Staff was onboard in making my brother's birthday celebration a true success. We are used to Vegas' first-class service; and, were very happy to see Atlantic City step up and meet our expectations.

All in all a wonderful trip
Honeymooners Sep 24, 2009
We were greated by friendly staff and were able to check in an hour early, they were very accomodating to getting us into a ... room with an ocean view. we really enjoyed the way evrything was so lit up and bright colors although for being august i found it rather cool in the casno area and had to wear a sweater to keep warm. something I found odd which was different than any casino i had been in was that they did not take quarters in the machines, not would the cash in quarters for bills, in my opinion the noise of all the coins cashing out is part of the gambling experience, we chose to eat on the boardwalk rather than pay the high price for any restaraunt the hotel offered, housekeeping was very quick to bring us anything we needed as we chose not to have our room cleaned everyday of our stay. the staff was very helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed "the shows" they put on. all in all it was a wonderful stay

senior traveler Sep 23, 2009
The information we got about the place was gotten only by asking lots of questions. Their people were polite and helpful, but ... a booklet inside our room was not up to date and not very useful. We also found the shuttle to other casinos was really busy and wait times could have been better. The one restaurant we tried (Italian) was excellent, but others were not opened every day.

Nice Atlantic City boardwalk location
LikesToTravel Sep 23, 2009
We were very pleased with the hotel. Upscale, very clean rooms. Casino, restaurants & entertainment on site. Unfortunately ... since we stayed mid-Sept, House of Blues, which is on-site, was not open until Thurs for food or entertainment. However, a couple mid-range restaurants were available. The hotel is on the boardwalk and the beach is right there, which was a plus as the pool was closed for the season. (They only have an outdoor pool). The price was better just after the high season, but the down-side was less attractions being scheduled - both at this hotel and the other large ones in the area.

You can self park but it's far away. Park by the elevator in the garage or drop off the luggage and then park. Don't pay for parking if you're staying at the hotel--it's a little confusing. Also, the Total Rewards line is long early on Saturday and Sunday because of busloads of day visitors. Come back later when the line's shorter.
