An Amazing Place to Stay
Rick Nov 16, 2009
We spent a 3 day weekend to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The hotel checked us in early and upgraded us to a room with a ... partial beach view. Later that evening when we returned from dinner on the beach we found flowers and a congratulatory card from the hotel staff waiting in our room. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and the bath is huge with a separate tub and shower. I would definitely recommend this hotel it is located right across from the beach and pier and within walking distance to many nice places to eat and drink. I would stay again without hesitation.

Great Location
Ann Oct 20, 2009
The hotel itself was average. Rooms average, furniture in suite low quality. Friendly staff. Great location, but geared for ... younger crowd. Fitness room average. No parking. Be prepared to pay for valet parking at $24/night. Garage parking cheaper, but no in/out privileges. Continental breakfast, or at least coffee, would have been nice.
Traveler type: Couples
Keep parking costs in mind. If you are renting a car it will cost 24/night for valet parking. On-street parking very hard or impossible to find. Garage parking has no in/out privileges.

The hotel is in a great location with mostly friendly staff. The hotel needs to work out the kinks with air conditoning ... systems and unfriendly staff and upgrade the towels. They literally scratched me. It was a little noisy too. The hotel was clean and can easily be made into a 4 star hotel with a few adjustment.

The Place to Stay in Huntington Beach!
Shon John Sep 28, 2009
The Shorebreak is certainly one of the best quality hotels I've ever stayed at. We booked the room for a steal at a little ... over $100 a night (they had a short-term promotional offer). I had a conference in Anaheim during the week and a buddy and I had a few extra days, so we decided to come down to Huntington Beach. The Shorebreak was located directly across the road from the beach and adjacent to the pier. This is the closest place to stay if you want to be near the pier in Huntington beach. We were less than a two minute walk from main street where most of the stores and bars are located. The hotel had a modern surf-like theme and had the feel of a 5 star hotel. They had the nicest staff I've ever had experience with. They allowed us to check our bags (even after check-out) while we went to the beach. The size of the hotel room was outstanding and very clean. The bathroom was a personal spa. It included a full shower and separate oversize bathtub complete with bathrobes. The Huntington Beach pier and beach could be seen from our outdoor patio. Comfortable beds and sheets. Gigantic flat screen high-def TV. If I could complain about one thing, it would be the additional charge to access internet in your room. Probably the best stay I've ever had at a hotel. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting to stay next to the pier and beach, even if you have to pay a few extra bucks.

New Huntington Beach Fan Sep 19, 2009
The hotel was fabulous within walking distance to the beach. Literally across the street. It shares the block with ... countless beach stores and shops, great restaurants and the famous Huntington Beach Pier. The rooms were fantastic, huge tubs, showers for two and LCD flat-screens in the bedroom and living room areas. The bar and restaurant are also top notch. All that was missing was a pool, but the beach is right there for a quick dip.

A designer's dream with a friendly staff
YPH Sep 10, 2009
Quite surprising set-up makes it a bit difficult to stop when driving-by, this new hotel is located a few yards from the ... seashore. Surf-inspired design, spacious and well appointed rooms, very friendly staff will make it an HB favorite. Only regrets, overnight valet parking is $24 which is outrageously expensive in a place like HB; and internet access should be free in surf city!

Boston traveler Sep 1, 2009
This is a nice hotel, with a fresh look in a terrific location. Our only complaint was with the valet parking. It should be ... avoided as it is far more efficient faster to self park. We were using the valet parking b/c we were going in and out with the car during the course of the day. Valet parking allowed you to pay the day rate ($24) with in and out priveleges. Once you account for tipping and the excruciating waiting time, it simply wasn't worth it. At around 8:00 at night we waited for about 20 minutes for our car to be retrieved! You're better off parking your car yourself.

This hotel was recommended by some friends that live in Huntington Beach. I was a bit hesitant when I read that there was no ... pool and I was traveling with a 3 year old. We stayed anyway and were so glad that we did. We had considered the Hilton and the Hyatt, both down the street, and we were so pleased that we stayed here. It is right in the heart of shopping, across from the beach. Beautiful, brand new rooms (we booked a courtyard view and were upgraded to a partial ocean view at no charge. Beds VERY comfortable. Staff were very friendly. I personally didn't like the restaurant, but many, many other dining choices around. Step outside of the hotel and everything was there! Prime location- only downsides were $24/day to park and had to pay for wi-fi (almost unheard of these days). There were also firepits to make smores at nighttime- really nice touch (although 2 of the 3 weren't working too well during our stay). And be sure to visit Baskin Robbins for ice cream around the corner- awesome ice cream, great service- we went there every day!! You can sit outside with your ice cream and people watch for hours!! Enjoy!
Traveler type: Family
Go to the CVS around the corner to et your stuff for smores. Hotel will get it for you and charge it to your room, but charge you extra $$

Car parking is a problem. You can find street parking (non-metered) if you are lucky. The hotel has valet car parking @ $24 per day. The public parking garage is max $10 per day but restarts every time you enter the garage. It only takes a few hours to get up to $10 max. If you come and go 3 times a day, go with the hotel valet parking.
