I made a reservation for this hotel and had it prepaid for when I arrived. I have stayed at Sheraton this way before and ... never required a credit card on file. Then when I arrived, I was told I needed a credit card on file. After all the hassle it about 2 hrs. to check into the hotel and the staff was not very nice about any of it. I had planned a stress-free anniversary weekend and it started with stress! We had tickets for a concert in the area and was late to that because of the extra two hours checking in. Also the price of parking was never mentioned in any of the fees. A 14.00 overnight parking fee was ridiculous, only because it was never mentioned at all! Overall I was very unhappy with the service I received and the staff.

Third time not a charm

I was given a huge romm designed for the handicapped, which would have been OK if the huge expanse of the floor had not been ... covered with carpeting that was badly stained and dirty. I requested a small refrigerator for my room which was sent up promptly , sat on the floor and plugged in. The person who delivered it left so fast and without a word or a glance missed out on a gratuity which I had in my hand ready to give him. The feet on the fridge were missing so that when trying to open the door, it dragged on the carpet. I lifted it to the bench so that I could open it. When I did open it there was an unpleasent odor. The staff should be informed about the qualities of baking soda. This was my third trip to the hotel this year and this is the first time I was dissappointed. The staff gave me credit for two nights parking for my trouble. Whatever......

The hotel was okay, we requested a frig and the maid brought the frig up by pulling the cord the entire time... Very rude and ... some maids took forever to clean up. Staffs were not all friendly and we had to pay for parking and paid travelers tax. Not worth it....

The hotel and room was spotless. We brought our dog and the hotel and staff were very accommodating. Although the location ... wasn't in a beautiful setting, it was very easy and quick to get over the hill to the Hillcrest Neighborhood, Balboa Park, and downtown. Also, across the freeway was a huge mall with lots of dining options.

We had a Martial Arts Tournament in San Diego that weekend. I hung out in the room a lot since I had my 2 infants with me. ... The Air Conditioning was horrible, it didn't work. I call to complain at 3 a.m.one morning and they assured me that it would be fixed at 8 that next morning. They also offered me a contiental breakfast for 2. That was nice but they never sent anyone to fix the air conditioning. I couldn't sleep at all during my stay because it was and got too stuffy in the room, mind you we have the ac on the whole time and like I said it never worked...... Not Happy.

I was attending a seminar that was booked at this location. It was great to be so close and have a nice facility to attend ... the seminar. The one thing that was a little challenging was the food menu at the restaurant in the Hotel. They did not necessarily cater to vegaterians and the prices were a little high. I did find a nice selection of restaurants near by though.

This was a great facility to have a conference and spend the night in a room there. It met most of my needs with the exception of veggie fare at the restaurnt.

We spent a weekend at the Sheraton Mission Valley on a special rate and were very pleasantly surprised. The location was ... good-just across the freeway from one of the malls. The room was clean and spacious, although the bathroom was a bit on the small side. If you are into working out, the fitness center is small and minimal but there is a nice Bally's located approximately 1 mile south on the same road. I would definitely stay there again for the rate we paid.

Nice!
Robert Jul 6, 2008
Stayed at this property with my wife and two kids. I like it's proximity to restaurants, shopping and the trolley in Mission ... Valley. We asked for a room facing the hillside. If you don't ask, they will give you a room facing a very loud freeway which always seems busy even late in the evening. The front desk staff were helpful and pleasant. Parking was free and there were no problems with finding an open space. In a perfect world: -the elevators would be evaluated. They seemed out of synch. Often, we'd approach our floor only to have the car stop. Then it would bounce up then down and then the door would open. A bit nervewracking for young kids. -the bathrooms would be bigger. They are SMALL. Very limited counter space. Overall, this property fit our needs very well!

Nice Stay
Amanda Jun 29, 2008
We stayed at the Sheraton Mission Valley hotel for two nights in June. The best thing about the room was the bed - it was so ... comfortable. The rooms were clean and to me that is always the most important thing about hotel rooms. I liked the location of this hotel as I thought it was centrally located to all activities in the San Diego area. For those who are shoppers, there is a mall just down the street with a lot of high end stores.

The hotel itself was nice, and the staff super-friendly, but if you don't have a car, or were sick of driving, this is not ... the place for you. No where to walk to...any restaurants were across the highway and a very long walk. The bar is really non-existent. People working there, however, are great...so nice and very friendly and helpful. Rooms were okay...the rug seemed dirty...lots of stains.

There is a Dennys within a reasonable walking distance if you have children and you are watching your budjet, there is also a Wendys. Everything else you will need a car because it is across the freeway, and you can not cross by foot
--Barbara, Austin, TX Jul 8, 2007
If you don't mind the 15 minute walk (which we didn't), you can get to the Mission Valley trolley station and from there you can pretty much get anywhere. We didn't rent a car and took advantage of the awesome public transportation system. It worked out great and all the walking helps you keep those vacation pounds off!
