Front desk clerk was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Room was very clean with a very comfortable bed and plenty of towels, ... etc. Bathroom/Shower are not big but okay for a short visit. A healthy bit of road noise from I-70 just below but the location makes getting in and out very easy. Breakfast was very reasonable with friendly service. Unfortunately, we were in town for a funeral nearby but the location and level of service would be perfect for anyone visiting either the Royals or Chiefs stadiums or just about anywhere else in KC since the location is near several main highways.
Traveler type: Couples
Getting to either of the stadiums would be a five minute drive without traffic. To downtown KC via I-70 and I-35 a short 15 minute drive on good highways.

Just a hop away from Arrow Head

We were there to watch the Dallas/Chiefs game at Arrow Head. (Dallas won by the way!) They had a shuttle to the stadium which ... was cool and saved us a walk in the cold. They had an indoor pool but it wasn't heated (or the heater wasn't working)although, they did have a hot tub which made up for it! The only complaint we had was that the walls were too thin. We could hear our neighbors on all sides of us. We were able to eat at the restaurant before the game which saved us some time but it was kinda expensive and the food wasn't fresh. It was late in the day (after 11) and they were getting ready to serve lunch so they could have given us a discount because we were eating old breakfast food. There was no complementary breakfast or snacks which would have been nice.

great hotel

From the moment you walk in you feel you entered a Hotel and not a Motel. All of the rooms were just remodeled. rooms also ... have a nice flat screen where you can actually get to the inputs if you want to bring a dvd player or game system. Short walk to Kauffman stadium or they have a shuttle. watch out for bums if you walk across bridge to get to stadium. all in all great experience.

Very family oriented
Horselady Jul 30, 2009
I was attending a conference at the Hale Arena downtown. This hotel was easy to access right off the highway. Anyone ... attending a sport event has quick access to the sports complex. When there is a game going on though, the parking lot is full and makes it difficult to find a place to park. Other than a Denny's across the street and the hotel dining facility, there wasn't anywhere close to have a meal. However, the two meals I had at the hotel were excellent. Since there is a water park in the hotel, there are lots of children and the hallways are noisy, especially in the evening. I constantly heard doors slamming and people talking or yelling down the hall while in my room. Otherwise, the hotel was very clean, staff very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.

Bad Experience
mom Jul 20, 2009
When I talked to the agent at Orbitz I asked if the room would be either a king or two doubles and stated to the agent this ... was important. They told me it would be either king or two doubles. When we checked in they said the reservation came over from Orbitz as a queen. They were booked and told us there was nothing they could do for us. They offered to provide us with a rollaway..however took 2 days to get the rollaway. We got back to the room on the 2nd night at 11pm and the room had not been cleaned...again they apoligized but said they could not provide a cleaning service at that time of night.

A Great Hotel with a Great Atmosphere
TwinsFan Jun 30, 2009
A great place for a visiting fan to stay while visiting Kauffman Stadium or Chiefs Stadium. Great atmosphere, very friendly ... staff, very accomodating. Wish there was a better choice for breakfast than paid buffet, but Denny's is a short walk away. Highly recommended! The only downside is that there isn't much to do in the immediate area other than sporting events, but obviously this is not a knock on the hotel itself.

There's a waterpark inside the hotel that would be great for younger families, but be aware that it is an additional fee on top of the hotel price.

Our family chose this hotel due to the waterpark. The waterpark happened to be closed that week for repairs and we did not ... find out until we arrived. I even spoke directly to the hotel prior to arriving regarding our stay and it was not mentioned at that point either...so, be specific.

Great Place to Stay to Relax
Todd Jul 12, 2008
The Sheraton Kansas City Sports Complex Hotel has updated the hotel to a very luxurious, restful hideaway that warrants a ... strong, postitive review. We had been there 1 year ago amid rehabilitation - One year later it was well worth the wait. The front desk was very busy and somewhat crowded with people. We were slighty agitated but got over it very quickly when we got to our beautiful room. It was a dream. We wanted to stay a few more nights just to stay at the hotel but had to get back home.

Down the road there is great shopping at Independece Center. Also so good shopping on Noland Road. Right across the road is Royals Stadium & the Chiefs Stadium - really a nice walk.
