The one thing that was a rather huge turn off for us was the fact that you had to pay a large fee for overnight parking on your rental. We did not feel that part was totally clear upon rental. It was a $43.00 per night pkg.fee and a $6.03 hotel tax on the parking. That's a bit much in my book. Disappointing there.

THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST TRIP TO SAN FRANCISCO AND MY BOY FRIEND SUGGESTED THAT WE STAY ON THE WHARF. WE PICKED THE SHERATON ... AND I AM SO GLAD WE DID. BESIDES ALL OF THE OTHER FABULOUS ATTRACTIONS THAT SAN FRANCISCO HAD TO OFFER, STAYING AT THE SHERATON MADE EVERYTHING THAT MORE ENJOYABLE. SURPRISING TO ME WAS MY WANTING TO GO OVER TO PIER 39 AND WATCH THE SEA LIONS. COMING BACK TO A COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN ROOM REALLY MADE OUR TRIP THAT MORE ENJOYABLE. THE STAFF AT THE SHERATON WAS GREAT AND THE CITY WAS BEAUTIFUL. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR. THANK YOU SHERATON AND STAFF. WE SHALL RETURN. KATHLEEN SHOREY, HAWTHORNE, NEVADA

Worn out traveler Oct 26, 2009
Nice hotel. Noisy jerk in the room above me walking around & clunking stuff from 2 until 5 in the morning. Creaky floor made ... it worse. Repeated calls to the desk accomplished nothing. After three days I left in a very unfriendly mood. The woman at checkout just stared at me when I told her what I had endured. Her response was to put up her hand & say 'Bye. I'll never go back.

Great location
Local Overnighter Oct 18, 2009
A good, basic, place to stay. Nothing special, but no real negative comments. The best thing about this hotel is the ... location. The little fire pits outside are also very cool; we were there only one night, and all the seats around them were taken the entire time, so we never got to use them. Our worst experience was at check out - the televison check-out option was not working. After check-out, we went to the Bell Desk to leave our bags, so we could walk out to the wharf for a while before driving home. The Bellman, who was obviously the only spanish-speaking person, was playing Concierge to a foreign couple. The Concierge, who should have stepped into the Bellman's role to take care of the long line of people who only needed to check or pick up luggage, instead just took the next person in line who needed Concierge services. Obviously, Concierge services are not a quick thing, so we just stood there waiting for a very long time, until finally we just gave up and went home.

Looks Are Deceiving
Travel Diva Oct 14, 2009
The hotel was close to the Pier 39 attractions shops and restaurants offered, but it was a little overpriced for the ... amenities and decor-could not tell where the 33million in renovations (someone overcharged them for the decor). The mattress was not that comfortable and there were stains on the single thin blanket and urine stains on the shower curtain(yuck) and the toilet was too close to the tub. And the satellite TV did not work very well. There was poor lighting and poor drainage. The soap was very harsh on the skin and they were very frugal when replacing the small bar. We stayed 5 days and loved every thing else about the area.

Dine at Bubba Gump's and Salty's Fish Sandwich spot. Use the Safeway grocery store if you want snacks, sweets, beer, wine, etcor other things to take back to your hotel....much..much cheaper. Also, use Walgreens (near the cable car stop-around the corner) to buy all the souvenirs you need....much much cheaper and better quality. ALso, the dungeness crab were really over priced, so try some of their cups of lump crab which was 3 times less in price.

Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel
PrDox Sep 29, 2009
Was very overpriced, could have stayed at other hotel within walking distance for 1/2 the price. Was clean, but VERY small ... (esp for the price) - had no refrigerator to save any left-over high priced food. Hotel attempted to charge me parking fees EVERY Day, when friend only parked there once - suggest questioning any charges that they attempt to bill. Am aware I was billed for the "location" of the hotel, but honestly, was overall overpriced for the ammenities I used. Staff was courteous and helpful.

I read some Yelp reviews after I booked this hotel so I had some reservations (heh) about staying here. However, aside from ... the noisy bus depot accross the street from our room (many Yelpers complained about this), our overall stay was absolutely delightful. Staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and my 11-year old LOVED the colors and decor.

My family and I planned this trip to the City to Celebrate my Birthday and Wedding Anniversary. We took a Bruch Cruise and a ... great city tour. The location was great for all our plans we had dinner at the famous Bubby Gump Rest. and had lots of fun on the Pier 39 area. We did a lot of walking during our weekend get away but it was lots of family fun . We look forward to planning another trip soon and would love to be a guest at the Sheraton so please sent us a one night complimentary gift certificate.

Want to comment on the airline travel. I have been a long customer of Orbitz and am really tired of having my seat switched ... by the airlines to something very very less desirable. Last time I was right next to the bathroom. This time I was forced to sit next to a woman with a small child that screamed 75% of the trip. Why cant we have any "kidfree" flights?" Its tough on adults with high blood pressure.

Shop around before making a final purchase. Many tourist traps in S.F. carry the very same merchandise. With many all sales are final...so make sure you find the lowest price before you pull out your cash. Stay on the top floor so kids can not jump on the floor to disturb your sleep. Return your rental car. You are super close to everything. Parking is ridiculously expensive. Staff are super helpful and courteous. Beds are very comfortable. Wide screen TVs

Always stay w/in walking distance because you don't have to hail a taxi cab and spend extra money and you don't have to find parking in the city know for bad parking. It will be the reason to pa extra, to not have to drive once you get to your hotel room.

The IHOP within a block from the Sheraton is a great breakfast stop. They have a marvelous staff who are beautifully prepared to provide friendly hospitality. We ate (at the open wharf) the clam chowder in sour dough bowls for lunch every day. In addition to the many nearbyopen wharf restaurants for seafood, we had great meals in Chinatown. Highly recommend a visit there via the streetcar to the Grant Avenue so that you enter Chinatown via the Main Gate. Both the hotel concierge and a clerk at a wonderful jewelry store in Chinatown recommended we plan at least one meal at R and G Lounge on Kearney Street. We followed their advice for a fabulous meal. We also enjoyed a return visit to the Great Eastern Restaurant which had been recommended to us by a tour guide during a visit last fall. We highly recommend both eateries to you. How we envy you as you plan your stay in San Francisco.
