Decent for the price

Madison was a stop over on my way to Chicago, Ill. I needed somewhere cheap and close to the highway. The staff was ... friendly and room was clean. It fit its purpose for the time that I was there. I did not use any of the amenities, however I did take some of the breakfast with me on my way.

We didn't have high expectations, but the room was old, worn and smelled bad. The staff were competent, but too few of ... them. The weekend breakfast was worthless.

Well the first morning we got up there were small ants crawling on our dirty towels in the bathroom. Later in the evening ... they had migrated between our beds and what looked like a black spot on the ground was actually a compilation of tiny ants. We requested to switch rooms and the staff did not apologize or request to help us two girls move our stuff upstairs, as there was no elevator.

We got into the motel at midnight, very tired and ready for some sleep. The clerk was very helpful with all our questions and ... concerns. Next morning we awoke refreshed and enjoyed the breakfast. Especially the hot waffles. Then we were off to finish the 10 hour trip to our home.

We were in Madison for the Midwest Horse Fair. The hotel was great except there wasn't an elevator. We had to go up a lot of ... stairs with all our luggage.
