Great Location
Beach Fan Nov 23, 2009
Right on the beach and within walking distance of food (which got really loud 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.). They had a pretty good ... breakfast included and a good price for the location. I loved being able to see the giant ships going into the Charleston harbor. The room was tiny. There were two beds crammed in where only one should have been. There was only a tiny outdoor pool (too cold for November).

Questionable
TN Traveler Sep 14, 2009
The images posted online for Seaside Inn are deceptive. The rooms are very very small and the pool is even smaller. If you ... get 2 queen beds be prepared to not have ANY floor space. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone with children. They might have to sleep on the beach. This hotel does sit on the beach, which we enjoyed. If you aren't looking for anything other than a bed by the beach, then you might be good with Seaside. We joking referred to it as our mini-motel since pretty much everything was pint-sized.

Well the location was good, and the staff was friendly, but the room was very moldy, mildewy and dirty...the bathroom seemed ... clean. We had to leave due to the room being so dirty and my daughter's allergies to all the mold and mildew.

Seaside by the Seashore
mbsends Sep 2, 2009
Isle of Palms is a great little get-away though the place is packed on the weekends. I arrived on a Sunday however so it was ... relatively quiet. The Seaside Inn is clean and comfortable though it would have been nice to have access to a computer in the lobby, just to check mail, get a map, etc. It can get a little noisy in the late morning and evening when there are people moving in and out of the rooms. The doors tend to slam and when housekeeping starts, there's quite an orchestra of loud noises. But what better excuse to get out of bed and hit the beach for a walk or swim. It was great having a fridge, coffee maker and microwave in my room and the room itself was clean and free of bugs.

We were given a room with mold in the bathroom, but they quickly gave us a another room when I complained. Staff was very ... friendly and helpful, location is wonderful, bathrooms newly remodeled, nice lighting. A few cockroaches in the bathroom, but that's typical for the beach? Nice microwave and refrigerator, cabinet in room, comfortable beds. I'd stay there again, just be sure and ask them to make sure the room has no mold. Don't stay there if you want a pool, the pool is so small it's a joke. Small breakfast provided is adequate.

Enjoyable stay - We'll be back
Rieder3 Aug 3, 2009
Pluses: Great location, across from the local shops and two doors down from our family's new favorite restaurant - Coconut ... Joe's. Short walk to one of the best beaches we've been to. The Gas Lamps at the front of the hotel added a nice touch. The hotel staff were friendly and quite helpful. A/C was great - almost too cold. Breakfast was good. Enough to get your day going(Oatmeal, Bagels, Toast, Cereal and some fruit) Minuses: Musty smell in the room, Garbage from previous visitors under the bed, Rooms were small and dark, Urine stench in the stairwell, we encountered a cockroach in the bathroom - we won. All in all a very good stay. Since we were there for the beach and out of the hotel for the majority of the time, the minuses were not that intolerable. For those who enjoy beach/ocean view eating, Coconut Joe's is highly recommended. Great Coconut Salsa!!! We'd definitely come back to Seaside Inn, IOP - It was fun.

Where is my space?
Fay302 Jul 22, 2009
This property really needs to improve their parking. We needed Handicap parking and only 3 spaces were alloted for Handicap. ... To be charged $5 a day for parking in an area away from the hotel is ridiculous. I had to drop off my handicap passenger and park quite a distance from the hotel. This property has a poor excuse for a swimming pool. 8x10 pool 3 1/2 ft deep. Give me a break. In the room, we had one (1) small trash can for the entire room. So we had trash from the bathroom sitting by our bed at times.

geogeak Jul 18, 2009
The hotel is located on the beach and has great access to sand and ocean. Great location for a beach vacation. The only ... problems we noticed were a very loud air conditioner and the bathroom sink didn't work. We also had to provide a copy of our Orbitz confirmation at checkout. The hotel's system wanted us to pay for the room again.

The Acme Cantina had wonderful mexican and traditional American fare. The prices were reasonable and the food was great. It's a wonderful place if you are looking for a low key bite to eat. The Seabiscuit Cafe was another gem. It gets packed in the small cafe, but it is well worth it!
