It served its purpose for our trip. A place to relax and to lay down our heads at night. The only issue was we had no place ... to sit on our porch in front of the beach because there were no chairs and the one we found was broken. Besides that, it was not a bad place to stay for the price.

Great Hotel Location

The location was awesome. We couldn't have been closer to the beautiful beach. You could look out off of the balcony and ... the view was great. The only downfall was that there was no breakfast bar as offered in the pictures. This was a letdown for 3 teenagers...LOL & checkout was a little too early. It was a great stay other than that.

Mostly very happy
The waterfall hunter Aug 31, 2009
The motel was very nice for the most part. The rooms were very clean. The view was nice. The rooms were actually a ... comfortable size. I however was not happy with one aspect. There is no free internet and you have to pay $10.00 a day which is a ripoff, and having internet at my hotel is very important. The other negative was that the elevator got stuck with my wife and son which was upsetting for them but they did get out after about 15 minutes. All in all it was very nice.

It was okay hotel. The room was small and we found one small cockroach the first night, but other than that, it wasn't too ... bad. There was no refrigerator or microwave, but they provided coffee maker. It was not fantastic, but I don't complain because the price was cheap.

Beach Front Fun
Zaphod55 Aug 15, 2009
Initially we were given ocean front instead of beach front rooms. When I pointed this out to the desk clerk (she acted like ... she didn't know the difference between beach and ocean front), I was told that there were no other rooms available and I would have to speak with the manager the next morning. There were no parking spaces available on site so we had to unload all luggage and such and park across the street. The next day the manager did secure our beach front rooms(2) only after they had been vacated and cleaned (around 12 noon). We had a large amount of luggage to move and I felt I lost some considerable time just to get the rooms that I originally reserved several days ago. I wish this location had not discontinued their continental breakfasts. After I booked my rooms I saw a better rate posted for this hotel. I wonder if I have a check comming? On the plus side.... We had a special needs child and were not hasseled about her diabetic alert dog. The beach front view was so impressive. The kids had a blast. Overall the staff was helpful. The full size ovens and refridgerators in the rooms w/kitchens were appreciated. We had a clogged plumbing issue and got immediate response. This was our third visit to Panama City Beach (2nd at this hotel) and we are ready to go back. The Screamer boat tour was very kid and adult friendly. The Pier Mall was fun.

Had a great time!
Monica Aug 4, 2009
Reading all the reviews before we left made me a little nervous however we had a great time! We had no major issues, we ... checked in, the room was clean, and it was cleaned the following days and new towels were brought in without having to ask. We didn't have any noise problems either as some of the reviews talk about. The location was wonderful! The balcony in our room was perfect to sit out and take in the scenery! There's a computer and internet in the lobby which was nice when we would need to look up directions or numbers to the different attractions. The beach was also very well lit up at night so we weren't worried about staying out late on the beach. There were a few cons however. First of all the parking is horrible, they do have a lot across the street but the street was usually extremely busy and not nice to cross with luggage and small kids. The only ice machine was on the 2nd floor which was really inconvenient not to mention it was usually empty from the entire hotel using just this one machine. The door did have to be slammed which was not nice since judging from the sounds other guests had to do this as well. The pool was really small and usually filled with too many people so we spent most of our time in the Gulf (which was fine for us.) Yes, these things were inconvenient however it wasn't enough to ruin our stay or anything. My biggest pet peeve was all the FALSE advertising!!! My kids were excited about the free kites however we never could find those! Every place we went just told us they were someplace else. Ended up having to buy one from a shop down the street. They also have this nice pretty picture of a breakfast in this listing however once you get there you'll see there is NOTHING! They had juice and granola bars in a basket! That was it! I was upset about that. But all in all we had a wonderful time and I would recommend to others. You really can't beat the location and price.

To save money we went with the standard room with no kitchenette. We just brought our own cooler and kept it filled with ice to use as a fridge and there is a microwave in the lobby if you needed to use one. That saved us a bit from paying extra to have the kitchenette. Also there was a Mike Diner about a mile west from the hotel which had a wonderful breakfast!

Creating Your Own Great Time
Loving Life Aug 3, 2009
I really enjoyed my stay. If you are looking to find most of your pleasure inside the hotel this may not be for you; but, if ... you are looking for a place to lay your had after having a fun filled day this is a great place. Even though this is an older hotel, which could use little touch ups,it was very clean. I loved being right on the beach. Plus, the location provides access to many fun things to do. Before, I booked this hotel I read many of the other reviews and from personal experience this hotel was not that bad. I would go back. Try Gulf Marine Park, water parks, and many of the little shops around. I really enjoyed myself.

Sharplpn Aug 3, 2009
This hotel is Nothing like the pictures and overview made it out to be. The only reason we chose this hotel was for the FREE ... BREAKFAST we were4 supposed to get and the kids eat free at Sharkies. Well, the kids did get to eat free (only after the adults paid for certain items on the menu) but there was no breakfast. There was a juice machine with juices that tasted bad and there was a coffee machine that was empty at 8 am so we had to make coffee in our room but then the one pack of coffee wasnt replaced for the 2nd morning we had nothing and still no coffee in the lobby. The rooms were outdate. The walls were patched up and the carpet was coming up. The rooms were a good size. The outside was not clean trash every were. we were on the bottom floor I felt like we were in a dungeon or something. You couldn't see the ocean from our room because the grass was so high! The pool area was ok nice size pool but some of the pool side chairs were broken so we had no where to sit while the children were swiming. We were woken up each morning around 6 am with doors slaming and people yelling outside. In the hall way down stairs there was water everywhere! at some point we had to wade water nearly ankle deep to get to our room. Our suitcases and everything got wet! I was not impressed by this hotel and we will not be going back!!! I went to the office to complain and of course no manager was there! We were given a card and I called and left a message 2 days later still no return call! I wish I could have got my money back and went to another hotel but they would not let us!

Very good location can't be closer to the beach. Old hotel with rusty doors. However I most say it was very clean and the ... staff was very friendly, there were plenty of clean towels for the pool and in the room. Really Surprised
kidshelper Jul 28, 2009
After reading some of the reviews other folks had posted we were somewhat reluctant to book at this hotel. We were ... pleasantly surprised upon entering our rooms. We reserved a double standard room and a double kitchenette. The rooms adjoined each other, which made it perfect for our family. The rooms were very clean. The accomodations were more than adequate. The kitchenette was equipped with what appeared to be a brand new stove and a brand new refrigerator. Both were spotless upon our arrival. Every staff member we passed was courteous and friendly. We always lose the keys to our rooms! The clerk that checked us in heard us laughing about always losing the keys and she graciously presented us with four keys to each room. Two of our family members were sick the night before we were to check out. We called downstairs to arrange a late check out and the hotel manager promptly returned the phone call. He advised that even though the hotel had a "full check in" that day he could allow us an extra hour and a half. The property was well maintained. Every room has a full unobstructed view of the gulf. Although this is certainly not a four or five star hotel it sure worked out perfect for our family. We will defintely be staying here on next visit to Panama City Beach.

We left and drove home
mom Jul 26, 2009
We had been to PCB already this summer and stayed at Origin. Should have stayed there again. This was a nightmare for my ... family. We didn't feel safe at all and the room left much to be desired. We checked in aournd 4 pm and we packed back up and drove back home by 6 pm!! It took us 6 hours to get home, but no one complained--none of us wanted to stay there. We were all very disappointed, however, because we had planned to spend two night and three days and parasail and enjoy the beach. We had driven there from four glorious days in Destin. This hotel is not a place that anyone would want to bring their family. We did not feel safe. The pool was too small therefore it was too full of people to even try to go swim or layout beside the pool. The beach was close--right outside our door--however, the young people on the floor above us were funneling beer and spitting it over the rails, so we had to walk around the balcony to get to the beach. Of course, we will never stay here again.
