Luxury at an affordable price
Couple in need of romantic getaway May 26, 2009
First time at a Sandals resort. The food was better than expected. Our room needed some updating but had everything we ... possibly needed. Some rooms can be far away and there was not the greatest transportation to and from rooms, but on the other hand you had more privacy and seclusion and it was very quiet. The hotel did a poor job orienting new visitors to the layout and short cuts to rooms and other services like the spa, you had to find out for yourself, we stumbled upon a lot of things. Lots of honeymooners and we've been married a while. However, all in all a wonderful, beautiful resort.

The tour opperators on the beach offered similar excursions at lesser priced. We had a fantastic time with Son of Man tours to the volcano/waterfall/snorkling.

Awesome Resort
Rhiannon May 24, 2008
This resort was great. The room was very nice and completely updated, as well as the bathroom. The beach is beautiful. The ... water was beautiful. It was calm, not rough like I've read elsewhere. They aren't kidding about making reservations for the Japanese & French Restaurant. If you plan on going, make sure you set it up right away. I only have a couple comments on some things that people might not care for. One thing I was disappointed with was the location of my room, which was over the restaurant's kitchen. It was a little noisy, but I didn't care enough to complain. You should know that they have nightly entertainment in the pavilion. This is nice, but if you want to go to sleep early, you really can't. It doesn't stop until about 11pm. I didn't mind much, since we were on our vacation..but listening to karaoke on my wedding night was slightly annoying. If you plan on using the internet, bring your own computer. They charge $10 for 15 minutes, and the connection is slow. If you bring your own, you can pay $15 for 24 hours in the lobby area. If you plan on getting married there, you should know that it's not very private. It's pretty, but if you're on the beach..so are all the other guests. And some people stand there and stare. Lastly, there were some locals that hung out on the beach..but mostly on the weekends. Overall the place was great. I would definitely go to a Sandals again. And, I am quite particular. :)

I wouldn't bother going to the Botanical Garden or the Volcano. They weren't really anything great to see. Snorkeling was kind of lame too. I heard the zipline was fun. But, I didn't have a chance to check it out. If I had to do it over again, I would have done that rather than the day tour of the garden/volcano/snorkeling.

Not what we expected!
axel Apr 14, 2008
Our First impression was dissapointment, the resort entry was so small and old looking we travel too far for what we got. ... The rooms are very small and rats walk the property at night, very scary too think that those rats may be inside the buildings and kitchen's too. The Gym was so old and it has not been updated since they open the resort. The staff was pretty nice but the check in process was just terrible. We met a lot of nice people so we still enjoyed our time at the resort but we will never go back, we don't even want to try another Sandals again. The nightly entertainemnt was sad, everythig was off by 11:00 PM, if you want a place to dance don't go there. The food was good, the piton and the french were the best. The weather was OK, rain and sun.

Very nice
Deborah Nov 21, 2007
It was our first time staying in a Sandals and we enjoyed it very much. The accomodations were very nice. The staff updated ... our room to a poolside/ocean-view room for no additional charge. There were several restaurants and the meals were consistent and good (though probably not great). We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffets that included lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and salads (and made us feel a bit less guilty of indulging on so much food and nightly desserts). Wireless internet access had to be purchased and was only available in the lobby area. The staff was attentive and we would definitely return.
