Bad food, good service, not relaxing
RV Nov 9, 2009
While the staff were extremely nice & helpful - there were several things that'd make me never come back. The pool area was ... so loud - this dj talked the entire afternoon. Not relaxing. There were several restaurants but the good quality was terrible. I've never been so hungry on vacation. I am vegetarian and no choices and what I did have wasn't tasty or fresh. Not even the fruit! My bf eats meat and he said the meat was not well cooked and poor quality. We went to another Sandals for dinner and his steak was burnt & tough. My veggie meal was slimy and gave me a stomach ache. The ocean was great and the pools were nice. They never changed our sheets either - for 5 nites. There is no real town to speak of - very poor area around so no outside trips to town. I like all inclusive but this place was a rip off.

Awesome rooms, great beachfront location, TONS to do there. Only downside is they seem to offer way too many "extras" to try ... to get you to spend more money (after you've thrown down a good chunk for the all inclusive package). The main pool area was a bit rowdy at times, but there are numerous side pools that are much quieter. The watersports are offered free wakeboarding, sailing & kayaks. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way a bit was one night when I was feeling a tiny bit sick, I tried to order room service, and was told my room category didn't offer room service in the evening.

Best Honeymoon!
Happy Newly Wed Bianca Apr 27, 2009
My husband and I were on our honeymoon and had the time of our lives! We went scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, sailed a ... hobby cat and catamaran and swam in the ocean. We did a lot of activities and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was so nice and always helpful! Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. This is by far the best trip ever and you can't beat the "all inclusive packages!"

Great Honeymoon
Patrick Jun 16, 2008
The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We utilized room service often and it was excellent. The ... airconditioning was the best I have encountered in all my travels to tropical destinations and kept the room nice and cool. The restaurants had a nice variety of food and tasted pretty good. The Red Lane Spa was excellent, and we had a 1 hour couples massage that was unbelievable. I highly recommend a massage. We were disappointed that there were no servers bringing drinks around as we lounged by the pool. If you are looking for a great beach, St. Lucia is probably not the place to go. The beach was well groomed, but it looked like all the beaches on the island are very small (not much sand). The pool was great. Sandals provides transportation to and from either airport on the island. Overall, we had a wonderful honeymoon and a great stay!

Paradise!
Debra Mar 31, 2008
Sandals Grande St. Lucia was the perfect place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The beachfront rooms facing Rodney ... Bay and the pool were amazing. The rooms were very luxerious and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to see that we were satisfied, and even though the service was sometimes slow in some restaurants, we enjoyed the laid back island style. Snorkle excursions, water ski, Hobie Cat, kayaking were also included, so we enjoyed this as well. We had to endure 12 hours of travel time to get there from LA, but it was well worth it once we got there.

Sandals Grande has exchange privileges with the other 2 nearby Sandals. A shuttle bus takes you there and you can enjoy their restaurants as well. We especially enjoyed Armandos at the Regency. They have a spectacular location on a cliff to watch the sunset. Get there early (they don't take reservations) and enjoy a glass of wine with the sunset.

Beautiful Resort
Mina Jul 23, 2007
I am very please with the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Resort. The staff was very friendly and the resort was clean. My wife and ... I had a wonderful time during our honeymoon at this resort. I would highly recommend it. Its a very nice and relaxing resort and if you are into the beach and just relaxing, then this is the place for you. It had a beautiful beach. I think it was the best beach out of all three Sandals resorts. Whats a review without mentioning the restaurants. We ate at all the restaurants at the resort and they were all good. They weren't phenomenal, but it was very good. The only one I didn't like was the Barefoot restaurant, the reason why I didn't like it wasn't because of the food, but because there were so many flies there. We had gotten nachos and the flies kept flying into the sour cream. Needless to say, we only ate there once. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort.

Bayside has a great buffet for breakfast and lunch. Tuscinini's is excellent, make sure you make reservations there for dinner.
