During my stay I went to Scubba Dub, had a great time. Most of my time was spent relaxing. Great view of the sunset. Did ... not like the fact that all the economy rooms were on the garden side of the hotel "I love the ocean" so that put a damper on my stay.

Yah Mon - This Place is Alll-right...

went with my boyfriend for a long weekend, and it was easily the most relaxing time i've ever had - plentiful drinks, ... plentiful everything. though the forecast had predicted rain for our entire stay, we only saw a storm once and didn't mind it at all. just sat in the bar, until it passed, which it did quickly. it's hard to get irritated with the rain (or anything!) when you're in such a beautiful place and all the locals are quick to remind you that the rain is a blessing to Jamaica. you must cliff dive while you're here - it's amazing. wish samsara would put a diving board on one of the edges so you could get a better jump. Also, lights reflecting off the cliffs at night would truly add to the atmosphere and the beauty of the place... only things we noted were minor - a few chips in the tile of the pool, lack of a diving board, lights off the cliffs would be a cool addition, not the best all-inclusive food (very bland and heavy), and maybe a hammock or two around the property.... However, these things are VERY minor and for our purposes, the trip was perfect. we cannot wait to go back...

Awesome Hotel, Even Better for the Price
Honeymooners Oct 19, 2009
The staff there was unbeatable, from the security at the front gate, to the front desk staff, to the the bartenders, the ... dining room crew, and the groundskeepers. One day we got a little burnt and the security and groundsman went and cut us fresh aloe. Anywhere we wanted to go, the hotel staff was more than willing to help. Property was well kept, and quite beautiful. But, you need to stay on cliff side (where we were), not gardenside! Gardenside is across the road and if you want to enjoy any of the amenities easily, and really enjoy the hotel at all, you must be cliff side. All inclusive was a heck of a deal, especially if you enjoy any cocktails at all. Nice selection at the bar, and the food buffet (though not large) did include many Jamaican style dishes to try along with some basics that most anyone would enjoy. If we head to Negril again we would likely return here because the staff, the property, and the scenery are uncomparable.

Great Vacation
Jamin Sep 1, 2009
For the price it is a great hotel. Everyone is super friendly and nice. They go out of their way to help you and answered all ... questions in a super friendly manner. Upon reading other reviews I was worried about what to expect. But from my arrival to departure everything went very well at the hotel. The cliffs are beautiful and the ocean is awesome. Pool is great also. If I happen to be in Negril again I would stay at the Samsara again!

this had to be the worst experience my wife and i have had. we will never recommend this hotel to any of our friends or ... family. terrible service, from receptionist, and security. this has truly been an horrible experience. my wife is from Jamaica, but this was my first visit to the island. if i didn't know that there was better from past vacation experiences, i would not visit again. i will return but not to Samsara.

No A/C unless you specify!!!!!
Couple from Atlanta Jul 8, 2009
The hotel needs to inform their guests that A/C has to be purchased separately or else you are going to be miserable. Very ... hot and humid in July. Ants were crawling on the furniture.

The beaches at Negril had great beach parties with live reggae music and cheap drinks. Make sure you have Jamaican money because some of the places do not have tip insertions when using credit cards. Beaches were free of hasslers and lots of security was present. We loved the beaches of Negril.

Great place to stay
Lisa Oct 29, 2008
hotel staff was great! The grounds were beautiful and the cliffs were fun to jump from! Snorkeling was great and the water ... was perfect. We had 2 small huts across the street that accomodated 6 of us. Lots of trees, humming birds,& geckos. Beautifully landscaped with walking paths. It felt more homey than a hotel where you have people next to you, or on top of you. It was off the main drag (where i particularly prefer) there were no crowds and craziness. A perfect place to relax and comepletely affordable. I have already reccomeded this resort to friends.

I would never recommend the Samasara to anyone....My room was horrible. First I was given a room with two broken beds. It was ... dirty, there were bugs, lizards and rats crawling around! It was absolutly disgusting! The only Friendly staff person was the wonderful cook.....He was very nice to us and made us feel comfortable.....but sadly he is no longer there! Great value for the price
Mindy Oct 2, 2008
I would definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable with great location to the cliffs. The staff is ... helpful and friendly, and the property is beautiful. The biggest difference between this and other resorts I've stayed at in Negril are the food and beverage options. If you're looking for fresh lobster and premium liquors though, this is not the plan for you. The food is home-cooked, buffet style, and while 90% of the time it was very good, it is not fancy. The drinks are typically pre-made with well liquors, so plan on paying extra if you want premium brands. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel for young travelers.

Calvin Sep 3, 2008
Samsara is a good down to earth location, has a nice view of the ocean and the cliffside. Yes to some people it may need ... alot of rennovations, or it could have this and that, but to me it has just enough, great staff, nice view and very quite and laid back,

My first experience in Jamaica was not what I anticipated. I had been waiting months for this moment to aarive in Jamaica. ... Full of excitement and very impatient. It started off rocky when they left my husband's bags in our state due to the plane was full, but then it was raining hard and I was still ok with that I was in another country. It took us over 2 hrs to arrive to our so call resort which it never states anywhere on the hotel which that understates it as well. It was a dump, a hole in the wall. For what we paid we still deserve alot better and some of the guest we met paid more and it wasn't worth. The only thing that made our trip worth it eventhough we were so hurt and felt they got over on us was the fact that we were celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. We had each other to coax us through this awful trip.

Don't purchase inclusive it is so not worth it!! The buffet is 14.90 pp and you don'y get a buffet two chices of meat and two entress/sides which were not cook good the drinks 4oz. at Samsara are extra. Legends food is better and their hospitality is better but still own by the same people, so what that tell you.

Beautiful ocean views
ALBERTO Apr 12, 2008
The Samsara was very nicely spread out as far as rooms, pool, bar area, ocean views and the massage area. We absolutely ... loved being on the cliffs with the great ocean view, and the umbrella/cabanas provided for shade were much appreciated. The bathrooms were newly renovated and comfortable enough, except we never really had hot water during our four night stay. Our only other disappointment is that the beds have a concrete foundation and then a single mattress on top of that foundation...no boxsprings. I've never seen that before, and it was not comfortable to sleep on, truly. Not a luxury resort, but for the money, very nice.
