The hotel is linked to the monorail which is really handy for traveling the strip. The hotel was unclean. There was trash ... beside the bed and in the closet. There were not coffee makers and you could not get toothpaste. They wanted to charge $$ for a 30 minute late checkout. They do hold your bags at the bell station if needed. the water temperature in the shower fluctuated to extremes!

Buy a day pass for the monorail. You can travel easily up and down the strip.

I would never recommend this hotel to a friend unless they are gamblers. The only good thing about it was the $1 blackjack ... tables and low minimum on the tables. However not to much of a selection for the slot machines. My room was not ready on time so i had to wait for a couple of hrs which i did not like and the staff at the front desk was not to friendly about it either. Would never stay there again

I attended a meeting at UNLV. The whole atmosphere of the Sahara was dirty and neglected. the staff were unfriendly (for ... the most part - one young lady in the coffee bar was very pleasant. My perception was that the majority of staff members had no interest in making a guest's stay comfortable. Paintwork in room was chipped and carpet stained. Even having a coffeepot in room would have helped.Room (although non-smoking) and corridor had an odor. The hotel was cheap and I guess you pay for what you get... next time will opt for a better hotel. Not a good experience.

The Sahara is a top notch resort. The rooms are clean, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The Sahara has ... monorail access (For a small Fee) which gives you access to the rest of the strip where you can gamble and party without having to drive or pay taxi fees. By joining Club Sahara (which is free) there are discounts on the buffet, which is fantastic, and rewards for playing some of the games. In addition it is one of the older hotels and has alot of quality and charm.

Worst Hotel Ever
brian Nov 10, 2009
The casino smells like smoke and stale beer; and the rooms are very old and tired. Even the hall ways smelled. The ac units ... are controlled by a knob with only three settings - low, medium and high. While most hotels had large screen tvs my room had about a twenty inch tv - although it worked fine. I stayed here because the price was right. After the first ten minutes I regretted my decision.

WE ATTEND THE PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDING FINALS EVERY YEAR. WE ALWAYS STAY AT THE CHEAPEST HOTEL ON THE STRIP, WHICH HAPPENED ... TO BE THE SAHARA THIS YEAR. MY HUSBAND IS A SMOKER SO WE CHOSE A SMOKING ROOM. WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. ROOM REEKED OF SMOKED CURTAINS AND EVEN THE BED... MUST HAVE BEEN A SMOKING BUILDING BECAUSE EVEN THE HALLWAYS SMELLED. BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS GREAT. CASINO WAS BIG, SO WE DIDNT EVEN LEAVE THE SAHARA THE FIRST NIGHT THERE. EVERYTHING WAS VERY NICE. ALSO NOT TO MANY CHOICES FOR LATE NIGHT DINING. BUT THE NASCAR CAFE WAS GREAT. IMPRESSED WITH THE FOOD, WELL WORTH BREAKIN A DIET FOR..LOL..

Continued arguing with me & was no help at all.....in room there was blood on carpet, NO PEEP HOLE, just hole in door (can see through both ways!!!!), and cigarette butts on the floor. Maggiano's Little Italy at Fashion Show Mall on the Strip was delish. For the same price ($20, not including tip) as standard-issue burger-and-beer dinner, I had a very good chicken dish with small red potatoes and arugula salad, plus a beer and coffee. The chef even brought out little stuffed mushroom caps to introduce himself. Bonus: my very attentive waiter was named [...].
