I arrived prepaid for a king room and was told none were available. After insisting, one was found. It hadn't been occupied ... recently and the bathroom was full of dead bugs, the sink drain wouldn't open and the hairdryer had been pulled off the wall and was lying on the counter. Breakfast was skimpy. The card door locks never worked despite three new cards and a visit from maintenance. I had to giggle the cards in five or six attempts whenever I wanted to enter my room. Not so safe at night to enter quickly.

We just need a place to stay overnight to wait for a early flight. The hotel is great and a really good price. It doesn't get ... the five start because first the shuttle service to the airport is at 7am (to late for us) and only run once every hour.

For a really good dinner try the Atlantic restaurant that is only four block away. Their Mediterranean food is awesome and the price really good.

Great Place To Stay For The Price
Quality Seeking Travelor Aug 24, 2009
We chose this establishment as it was located close to the more expensive hotels that some others in our party were staying ... at. We did not want to spend that kind of money but wanted the convenience of being downtown. We were so happy with the accomodations that alot of the others were sorry they had paid twice as much! The rooms were clean and newly remodeled. The pool was nice and the fitness room was just as good as most others we have had - even better when all the equipment is in working condition. The breakfast was a good mix of hot entrees and continental choices.

Great Hotel
Deputy Dave Aug 23, 2009
This was a great hotel. The rooms were large and spotless clean. Had a nice private balcony in the rear. The staff was ... friendly and helpful. It is close to downtown night life. Parking was great, over all a great experience. I stay at the Garden Inn every time I am in Salt Lake City, (4-5 times a year), love this place.

Great Price, Helpful Staff
Bandit Aug 21, 2009
Good location for us, because it was near a conference, and away from traffic noise. Very comfortable deluxe room at a great ... price on Orbitz (and we found an online coupon for Orbitz that gave us 15% off). Staff went out of its way to help us. They also offered us a great price when we wanted to extend our five-night stay. Breakfast was on the heavy and not great for vegans and heart-healthy eaters.

Mom of 4 S.C. Aug 16, 2009
We took a family vacation that tied in with some business of mine. The pictures look good online but the room looked like it ... had not been cleaned...ever. The bed linens had hairs on them. YUCK!!! We also lost power one night and the emergency lights in the hall weren't on. It was PITCH BLACK!!! When I asked the front desk they said there was nothing they could do since I booked it with Orbitz! Very frustating. Will NOT stay there again.

If you do go to Salt Lake City, UT I would highly recommend going to Park City to see where the 2002 Winter Olympics were and watch some skiers train... YEAR ROUND!! Very cool place for kids and adults!!!

Stay AWAY!!!!!!
Juraj M Aug 14, 2009
Hotel is very old and in very bad condition. We had fungus on the ceiling in the bathroom, rotten wooden doors and frames, ... water soaked carpet by the bathroom, hole in the bathroom, hair in the tub, funky smell, no pressure in the shower head. Breakfast was OK, but they could have better selection - very basic. If you ever stay here, make sure you don't walk bare foot on the carpet and shower with flip-flops on. And if you change your mind and want to go somewhere else, there is RedLion right accross the street.
