Weird place
CalVic Oct 20, 2009
Chose this hotel as it was the only room available in Philadelphia, which tells you something. Just a very odd place. We ... were in town for Family Weekend at our daughter's school. We were not in the room except to sleep, and the bed was fine. Bathroom was tiny with a retrofitted, fiberglass corner shower, a toilet, and a pedestal sink. No place to put anything. Felt like you were going to go right through the floor of the shower when you stepped into it.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
nomad bill Sep 19, 2009
The best thing going for this hotel is location. It is within walking distance of all of the historic district, convention ... district, and "Washington"district. It tries to be a "boutique hotel" in an old building, but didn't quite pull it off with badly scratched tiles in the bathroom and mold in the shower. One night other guests were noisy and obviously drunk at 2-3 a.m. The cleaning staff did not clean the room while we were out during the day and, upon our return, asked if we wanted the room serviced..... so we went to the very small lobby for half an hour to allow the room to be cleaned. With the hotel discount, parking fees were okay but did not allow for in and out during the day. Once the car was parked, that was it. If the car went out and back in, it was another day's fee. If we go back to Philly, we will probably choose another hotel further away with access to the metro.

Great value
Frequent Traveller Aug 13, 2009
The front desk staff were extremely helpful and very efficient. The hotel is located in an old building so the elevator was ... a little tricky to operate but staff helped operate it. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and there was a decent continental breakfast. The location was excellent so we could walk everywhere and didn't have to drive during our stay in Philadelphia. Wireless internet service was also included. I would definitely stay here again.

Location and good basic service
World Travelers Aug 2, 2009
We had 2 rooms for a family from ages 8 to 77 y.o. and everybody liked the hotel. The location was walking distance to ... museums in one direction and the historic district in the other direction. The rooms were adequate, quiet and basically OK. If the bedspreads were new, would go up a star in rating. Staff very helpful and courteous - they even let us have a late (2 pm) checkout. Parking is handy across the street and only $10.50/day. The elevator is tiny and European style and worked just fine. For the money and location, this was a great find.
