The Roadstar Inn is located across from the West Towne Mall where there are many restaurants and forms of entertainment, there is also a 24 hour Woodman Grocery Store 1 block away and have a guest laundry on site. The property is located less than 7 miles from downtown and the Alliant energy center. The Hotel offers high-speed wireless Internet access, refrigerators and microwave in all rooms, expanded cable television and a continental breakfast in the morning. Local calls are free but guests will be charged for long distance calls and also requires 50$ pet deposit which is refunded to guests on check out if the pet has not damaged the room.

When visiting Madison one has to visit the unique shops on State Street. A short drive away is the quaint town of Middleton with lots of good dining. A beautiful 30 minute ride to Mt. Horeb is well worth the trip.

The price was right and the location was 3 minutes from our final destination. However, the hotel was right on the highway. ... Add the noisy fridge, and the drunken homecoming clientele, and we did not get much sleep the 2 nights we were there. The staff was friendly and agreed to let us change rooms. However we did not make it back in time, so the comped us with $20! The lobby had cookies 24x7 and the continental breakfast was adequate. I would recommend it to someone who can sleep thru alot of noise. I might stay there again because of the convenience, and ask for a room off the highway.

We used the hotel only for sleeping for a few hours. It met it's purpose, however, when we folded down the sheets, it was ... obvious that the sheets had not been changed since the last guests had used the room. Becaues it was late and we had a very early morning, we did not change them and slept on top of everything. The staff were good. We left before we had an opportunity to experience the breakfast.

Great location near West Towne Mall. Staff was friendly and the room was very nice at any price, but a great value with ... Orbitz. The ONLY negative was the bathtub needs fresh caulk around the trim and the fixtures could be scheduled for replacement. Overall stay was positive and I will stay there again.

Room was acceptable for the price. The breakfast was very skimpy, sweet rolls and bagels only. They did have Orange and ... Cranberry Juices and Coffee. The coffee creamer was powdered. However, the bus stop for my destination was very convenient. I would stay again at the price ($40), but other hotels would become more attractive as the price goes up. Although the outside sign indicated all the rooms have 27" televisions, the one in my room was only 20".

After a rough start

I reserved this room through Orbitz on 8-8-09. The computer said it was in Dodgeville, WI. When we arrived at the address ... on the computer it was a desserted motel. Got on the phone and asked for directions and found out it was in Madison, WI. Thankfully it was only about 40 minutes away from the sight shown on the computer. When we arrived the rooms reserved (2 king rooms) were two rooms with double beds in them. When I insisted we get the rooms we reserved, we were put into a room that the air conditioner didn't work. We ended up with a queen room right next to the night desk which was noisy on and off throughout the night. Apparently they corrected the error because when I got home I checked the motel I'd reserved and all information had been corrected. The motel did refund $40 as an apology for any inconvenience and in spite of a rough start, we would stay there again. We appreciated the way they handled the situation.

Fast easy check in. Helpful staff. Great location right off the Beltline. Quiet. Accepts small dogs...my dog had a blast!! ... The room and breakfast weren't fancy but for the price, it was so well worth it.

My wife (who can be at times a tad picky) was upset when she learned that I had booked a room for $40 bucks per night. Well, ... she admitted at the end that this was indeed a great deal. Clean room, MW and fridge, coffee and rolls (too sweet) in the morning at a convenient location. 2 thumbs up!
