In all it was a good choice. Great location, staff very helpful. It needs to tweek the housekeeping as the maids are a bit ... sloppy with their housekeeping. When we arrived there was a glass laying on the floor and the carpet had not been vacuumed. The people next door had a very large dog in their room and there was dog poop in the hallway exiting their room. It was not good coming out of our room in the morning and step in fresh dog poop that was in the hallway. It was an unfortunate insentient for us. All in all, your a great place to stay at. Sometimes, "S--- Happens!" Would certainly stay there again. Thank you.

Fabulous Hotel for Family or Conference
The Slendidly Surprised Visitor Oct 13, 2009
The Red Lion on the River Jantzen was a wonderful surprise. The balcony scene over the river was spectacular; the rooms ... spotless, updated, and the comfortable beds made them perfect! Each room had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, too. The service was extra-friendly. It has everything. Minutes from downtown Portland and not far from favorite hiking trails of the area made it an even richer experience. Also perfect for professional meetings (as I plan those) so I took note. The best part for me were the trees all around the hotel and in the hotel -- such a lovely spot. In walking distance were a variety of eating areas and stores in case you wanted a change from the in-house restaurant. Free shuttle to the airport was another plus. I will stay there on my next trip to Portland!

although the hotel is aging, it is very well maintained and a great place to stay. The oversized rooms were a surprise and ... the queen beds were comfortable. The extra vanity sink outside the bathroom was awesome and the proximity to restaurants, shopping and the freeway were exactly what we needed. .

Mom's R&R
Much needed R&R Sep 22, 2009
I went to pick up a puppy we bought. This was my first time to OR, and I loved it. The hotel was right on the border of OR ... and WA. You could see the mountains. Right on the Columbia River, you couldn't ask for anything more perfect. I went alone, so it was a much needed R&R away from children and life. The food there was good, just overpriced I think. But would stay there again.

Location for airport/Portland sightseeing great. Rooms were large and nicely decorated. All the staff we met up with were ... positive, welcoming and eager to be of service. Main dining room quite lovely with river view, but a little pricey. Our wake up call came on time! Would certainly recommend it to others.

Most Excellent Red Lion
A friendly face Sep 15, 2009
It was the best stay I've ever had at Red Lion. The rooms where exceptionally nice sized and the beds were excellent. I ... love the fact that it actually had a pool and extras. Not many places would have that much poolside equipment and chair. The bathroom was not a small little room with a toilet and no room to get inside and change. I loved the stay and would do it again and again.

Our Stay
Carol & Mike Who Love Oregon Sep 9, 2009
Great location for touring around the state & very close to Portland & all we did there - Saturday Market, Nob Hill, ... restaurants, etc. Very large rooms & bathroom with separate sink outside main bathroom which we liked for 2 people. The microwave & refrigerator an added bonus. Only negative is our room faced the bridge to Washington & we could hear the traffic. I would definitely stay again & request a room away from the bridge. Staff very friendly & accommodating too.

Saturday Market a fun craft/art downtown event every Saturday & Sunday. Great for people watching, good variety of food, live entertainment on the Columbia River too!

We spent 8 nights at the Red Lion Jantzen Beach, and were very happy. The location was very scenic (well worth the extra few ... bucks for the upgrade to a river view). The room was surprisingly large. We also had our wedding on the hotel pier. The setting was perfect for such a perfect occaision.
