I picked this room based on previous reviews. We were going to be out all day so all we needed was a clean bed and a good ... enough shower. The room was old and there were a whole bunch of mosquitoes. That was my biggest gripe - the mosquitoes. Other than that the location is good and the owners are very friendly and helpful.

The hotels is older than many around it, but for the price it couldn't be beat!! The pool is a little small but the rooms ... are a nice size and the bed was great. It was so close to everything too!! We walked everywhere!! Would have liked to have had more light in the room. Over all the hotel just needs a little fresh paint in areas but I would stay there again.

Also walk everywhere and get the Niagara Adventure pass it is worth every penny!! And you get 2 days worth of trnsportation all around the main parts of Niagara Falls ON!!

I was pleasantly surprised that it was so close to the falls. This place was okay for a short stay and if you are in the room ... for a good nights sleep and a shower - this is a good place. We were only there for 2 nights. At first the room was a bit stuffy due to alot of rain but,it was clean. Once we turned on the A/C,it was okay. The beds were clean and comfy. The area was pretty safe, quiet and well lit at night. There were 4 of us in our room and i was a bit annoyed that not enough towels and wash cloths were left each day. However, i was impressed when we were leaving our room for the day that the owner actually remembered my name.

The first thing that I would like to say is that dont book the hotel by Orbitz. When I booked my hotel through the website ... and then called up the hotel, I found out that I paid way over the regular price of the hotel... not to mention that there were discounts on top of that too. The hotel is run down with nothing special... they dont even give extra towels for a one night stay just because when you ask for it in the morning, its your check-out time. Not impressed at all with Orbitz.com

Even though the staff was friendly, I would not stay there again. The room had white stuff on the wall & picture over the ... bed. I can not understand that the cleaning staff didn't see it before I went into the room. I had to call it to their attention.There were flying insects in the room & my leg had bite marks. The remote needed a battery & there was only part of a screen visible, if I had more time in I would have asked for it to be serviced. I was on a tight schedule & the people I was to meet with said that the hotel phone didn't answer to connect to my room on 5 attempts, however when they did they were very polite. Perhaps this is typical for the Ritz these days.

Poor service, wrong information

My trip wasn't enjoyable because the staff were not friendly and charged me $20 USD more than the offer was in the website, ... big fly found flying in the room and there was not enough towel and soup in the bathroom also the bed was pretty much noisy. The information given on the website was different then what I saw, for example there was no computer and free internet access in the room.

Older motel being updated/ renovated

We stayed here the last wekend in May 2009. The pool had not yet been filled/ opened. An old style motel right in the heart ... of everything-- right across from Niagara Falls and good restauants. The rooms have been recently remodeled with Pergo type floors. Ours had a full size fridge with sink and microwave. The bed was "average, not too comfortable" but the price was great. Outside I saw a gentleman painting the railings a more pleasing color. I'm sure the high rise hotels are MUCH more, and all we wanted was a clean room to stay the night and see the falls--very beautiful, and walk over to Outback Steakhouse for dinner, walk to breakfast, then be on our way the next morning. Not romantic--Very safe area-- Good value for travelers.

It is one of very few hotels in the area that provided us with refridgerator and microvawe in the room - we saved a lot ... eating in. It's located very close to the main attraction- Niagara Falls. We are very satisfied and will try to stay there again when visiting this area.

There is no guide to show that this is a hotel, it is just place to sleep ovewr night. May be it is good for truck driver ... who arrived late in the night and want just a place to sleep.

Staff was very polite and helpful on arrival. I was assigned my room and found that someone had been smoking in it, and staff ... immediately changed my room. Close to Fallsview and many restaraunts. Not the classiest joint in the world, but comfortable.
