Beautiful Kauai
Yearly Island Tourist Nov 1, 2009
The staff checked us in with swift efficiency, they offered a bellman but we chose to lug the cases ourselves. If you are ... staying in the ocean front rooms, use the bellman, it is well worth it!!! After a very long walk to our room, we finally arrived at a beautifully furnished clean room with gorgeous view of the ocean. The A/C worked well, the room was quiet and the maids were unobtrusive. It was a great vacation and we will definitely stay here again.

Liz Oct 19, 2009
Hotel staff was great. I checked in a day late due to flight delay, the front desk person saw how exhausted I was and gave ... me an oceanview upgrade for free. The room was beautiful, clean, and had great views. The area is great, you can get by without a car - I walked to the grocery store and Mcdonald's nearby and other restaurants nearby. You can alway use the paved walkway to walk to the Coconut Marketplace for lunch, dinner, and gifts. They have internet kiosks too - perfect for printing your boarding ticket. The pool was a little small, but never crowded. Grounds are well cared for.

Overall Pleasant Experience Minor Issues
Eddo Oct 6, 2009
Hotel location is good, and the price was very reasonable. Staff was friendly and willing to resolve the minor issues that ... showed up during my stay. One commment for future travelers: their defintion of "ocean front" room is different from mine. If you really want to get the ocean in front of your room, book a deluxe ocean front room, a little more expensive but the room is bigger and the views are better, well worth it.

Aston Makaiwa
Lekfx Oct 4, 2009
My family had a home on Oahu for 35 years. I know Hawaii. Kaua'i is our favorite island because it is still OLD HAWAII. ... NOT like Maui with it's awful development. We were looking for a smaller low-key hotel on the water without dozens of screaming kids, a mile long pool with grottoes and slides and frat-house jerks cavorting at 2AM. Now, we are a very stylish sexy couple, and we do like a good time! We just didn't want the "Club Med" crazy experience. Kaua'i is a mellow natural place and the mega-resort does not fit there. Go to Maui for that! (ick) This place was fantastic. Tastefully done, not ostentatious, no conspicuous consumption (like Princeville.. ick!!!) and great staff. Inexpensive rooms, terrific location (Old historic Kapaa town is a mile away) and our oceanfront deluxe room was fantastic! We WILL be back. The beach isn't a swimmer's beach, but it is lovely and wild, and private enough for real intimacy. VERY Hawaiian. Stay here of an authentic experience and a low-key, quiet super relaxing time.

Perfect place to stay
One great Oma Sep 12, 2009
Our stay was for pleasure, just wanted to view the ocean, enjoy the sights and relax. This hotel let us do them all. Just ... steps away from the ocean, steps away for the pool and over all great, pricing on the drinks could of been a little lower and also in the restuarants. This location was close to everything Luau's and shopping. This trip we took seemed to go by a lot faster than our previous ones to Hawaii. overall most enjoyable. Had a great stay just had to get some room deodorizer at the the store. but we had a great time. thank you,

Truth in advertising issues
Improver Aug 28, 2009
First the good news: The hotel is lovely and the staff is wonderful. Our room was perfect. There was a 'truth in advertising' ... issue, however. The nightly luau and lobby coffee bar no longer exist. Instead, to replace the latter, there was a pot of less than wonderful coffee on a table at the entrance of the restaurant. The restaurant was only open for breakfast. If you wanted to have lunch or dinner, you had to eat in the bar, which had a fairly limited menu. The $12 a day 'resort fee' was idiotic. It covered 1. things that we normally get free, such as in room high speed internet and parking ( people who merely came to events at the hotel paid nothing) 2. things that didn't exist (free coffee at the closed lobby coffee bar) 3. things we didn't need, like free faxing Besides, despite the name, this is a hotel, NOT a resort. The irony is that had they not promised what they couldn't deliver and had just added the $12 onto the room charge, I probably would have given it at least 4 stars and would have been happy to stay there again. Instead, I left feeling cheated.

Great Experience, Would stay there again
Love Kauai Aug 20, 2009
We were only 15 min. away from the airport. We took a day and went to the Northshore then another and went west etc. We saw ... the whole island. McDonalds was very close so that helped. Everyone was so friendly on the island. The staff at the Hotel was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We were celebrating our Honeymoon we never took 27 years ago. The staff put a bottle of champagne and glasses in our fridge for our enjoyment. They also brought a microwave for us. The only problem was alot of traffic in front of the hotel at certain times. We just left early for the luau Friday nite and that was great too. We enjoyed Kauai more than Maui, especially our hotel. This was quieter although there was a Wedding and we enjoyed their music.

Buyer beware
Dodgepound Aug 12, 2009
Went through 5 rooms before finding a clean one without condom wrappers under bed, a functioning air conditioner or dead ... cockroaches on floor. "Full Ocean View" means view of pool with a sliver of ocean viewable. But "for a small fee" can upgrade to clean room with actual full view of ocean. Noticed three other customers upset with room view or cleanliness getting the same "upgrade for a fee" offer. Seems as if the hotel intentionally uses sub-standard rooms to see if you will upgrade. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you have no other option.

Very Relaxing Trip
The honeymooners Aug 6, 2009
Room was very clean, and newly remodeled. Pool was older but still very clean. Bathroom was small! The beach was ... disappointing there is a rock ledge in water so beach is not swimmable at all. Bar and grill was good, but a little pricey, and the breakfast buffet was EXPENSIVE and not worth it! If you are looking for a hotel with a lot of amenities this is not the hotel for you, but if you are looking for somewhere inexpensive and plan to visit other beaches instead of the hotel one then I would recomend this hotel.

Take the North shore departure Napoli cruise! Anything longer than 2.5 to 3 hours is tooooooooo flippin longgggggggg. It's Beautiful, but it isn't worth 5 to 7 hours of time you could be doing other things than feeling queasy. Go in the morning and if the weather looks windy do not go at all. There are no refunds and these guys go no matter what. Our Captain went under conditions that we should not have. 5 to 6 foot swells. Can you say BBLLAAHHH? They will not cancel so you better. Oh yeah give plenty of notice. But I would rather eat the cancel fee and save my stomach. The waves were too high to snorkel. Did i mention no refund? Kauai Sea Tours Lucky Lady. I'm from Vegas. This wasn't lucky! It was Sucky! We had a fantastic Vacation!! This was the low point. Just lookin out for those on the fence.
