Aloha Beach Hotel, Kauai
Quietman Oct 4, 2009
1. Hotel was generally quiet, but there was a very noisy Salsa night (1st Saturday of the month) that ran very loud music ... until 12:20 am. We could very clearly hear the music from our hotel room. 2. Wife said she saw roaches in the bathroom area. 3. It was a no smoking hotel, but there was clearly a burn hole in the blanket. 4. Other than these, it was a nice place to stay. The parking lot was over-full on Saturday night. The air conditioner serving the room was a little noisy also.

I loved the view of the ocean, its white sandy beaches, and the surf was fabulous. The pool and hot tub was used daily by my ... family and myself. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast and the speedy service of the hotel room service staff. The hotel staff ([...]) was great, he's friendly and very attentive to detail. He made our stay very nice.

Muffy Aug 29, 2009
This hotel could be so much nicer with alittle more care.(new carpets, fix leaks in lobby, etc.) Unfortunately, one ... unfriendly staff person takes away from all the other pleasant workers. The room we were promised was not available and the clerk did not try very hard to make the situation better. The cabin was nice but smelly and air conditioning very noisy. Good location, Good price, Close to a nice beach, Most staff were fine

Kauai Aloha Beach Hotel
Kauai Hotel Aug 18, 2009
Room wasn't clean when we checked in. Housekeeping came at all hours of the day, from 9:30am to 3pm to after 4pm. Cleaning ... was sub-par, toiletries were NOT replaced. It's ridciulous that they will not print out boarding passes for guests! This is why Aloha Beach Hotel is an awful hotel, which I will recommend that my friends and family NEVER visit when they are in Kauai.

Mother of the Groom Jul 21, 2009
Just the last night of a week long stay on Kauai, we needed the closest hotel to the airport for a 6:00 a.m. flight and Aston ... had never disappointed me. Had. Even the elevator in our tower was out of order; good thing our room was lobby level. The furniture in the room looked like it came from a thrift store. The beds were too soft and hard around the edges. I know Aston will renovate the rooms and bring them up to 2000+ quality with in room access to the internet; lobby machines at a minimum of $5.00 to use don't belong in Hawaii hotels.

ResortQuest Aloha Beach Hotel Kauai
Fred Jul 6, 2009
Very good! This wasn't a top of the line luxury hotel, but a very good value. Rooms were spacious and clean, staff was ... friendly and helpful, and grounds and location were excellent. There were only three minor shortcomings: [1] wireless internet available in lobby but charged for room, [2] fitness center was moderately adequate but needs improvement [i.e. antequated weight machine and one treadmill broken], and [3] hotel dining was limited and rather expensive [however, there were many local options]. All things considered, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great rest stop for the weary traveler
QJ travel at the Hawaii pace Jun 16, 2009
We used this resort for a night after travel. Our permanent resort was on the other side of the island. After the long ... flight, it was nice to have a room nearby. The Lyndgate park has a long path to walk along the beach as well as a protected swimming hole. Also, there are 2 pools so if there are kids in the big pool, try the quieter garden pool. After a good night's sleep, our drive to the other side of the island was much more enjoyable. We would stay there again.

We shopped at Costco in Lihue and bought bottled water, wraps, and a spinach salad to the resort. They have a mini-fridge so we had the convenience of eating when we wanted. (the time change is brutal the first couple of days.)

Dirty Old and Out of Date "Motel"
Jack Jun 8, 2009
I don't know how this place got rated so high by some travelers. This place is no better than a Motel 6 in terms of ... cleanliness and decor. The hallways were filled with trash and dirt. We stayed for 3 days and the same trash and dirt were in the hallway. The first room that we got was horrible, the shower head was coming off, the beds were old and smelly. Worst than some of the 1 star inn that I stayed in college. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially those travelling with young kids.

Breakfast is hard to find on the island, either Eggbert's at the Coconut Marketplace or Ono Family Restaurant in Kapaa are excellent choices! And for dinner, try Gaylord's at least once! It's pricey but the atmosphere makes it worth it. The food is excellent too. Olympic Cafe in Kapaa is really neat too for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Don't miss Bubba's Burgers!!!
