Hotel was located in Sandy city center. It was clean and smoke free. No concerns with rooms or staff. Lots of close ... restaurants. Good free breakfast bar and nice lounge area for happy hours or to watch a sporting event, etc.

Note which roads provide access to I15...not every major cross street in SLC area provides access to the highway like in some other major cities.

Great 3 night stay

My first time stay at a residence hotel.. the only way to go... places to roam around the hotel, very safe clean environment. ... Friendly staff. Parking near room. Good hotel layout. Only complaint was I could hear the noisey people overhead for awhile after midnight only one of the nights. I did not call it to the attention of the hotel staff, but they probably would have gladly accommodated me in a different room It is in a brand new area of town. It felt very safe. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The housekeeping was immaculate. There was a warm, congenial atmosphere. The common dining room was very attractively decorated and there were lounging areas for reading and (flat screen) tv. So there wasn't the confinement of a usual hotel. You felt you were part of a large home, as a guest. The kitchen facilities were great, though I didn't use them much and they had complimentary transportation in a shuttle for extensive shopping and restaurants that were in the vicinity. The indoor pool was great, with windows and was half glass so you could see outdoors. The water wasn't too hot. I could hear doors slam (they are heavy), but there were mostly family type people who weren't out too late or up to early, so it was very quiet most of the time. I did have unruly people overhead one night and I was surprised how the sound carried. It was so convenient. I would have liked a luggage rack so I didnt have to unpack my clothes, but since this was a residence hotel, it didn't carry them, even though it did not have a regular chest of drawers, just 2 small drawers in the tv cabinet and 3 drawers in the bathroom. I felt more drawer space and/or a luggage stand would have been helpful. The front desk people were very responsive and pleasant, as were the cleaning personnel and also the breakfast crew. I was delighted with my choice of hotel overall and would stay there again in a minute.

Invest in a GPS unit. The more I travel the more useful these devices become. Getting from point A to point B is so much easier when you can simply punch in an address or point of interest and then go.

Great experience!
DP Jun 8, 2009
I spent a week at the Residence Inn in Sandy. The location was great. The hotel is a block from State Street which means easy ... access to the main thoroughfare without all the traffic. Salt Lake City is only about 15-20 minutes away, but there is all kinds of good stuff to do in Sandy. Shopping, great restaurants, and the megaplex. The room at the hotel was very clean and spatious. An open floor plan with full kitchen (full sized stove and refrigerator and ample counter space), sitting area, bedroom and bath. There is also a desk in the room which is great for a laptop. Good breakfast was served every morning. Basically continental breakfast on steroids. Normal cereals, bagels, and fruit with the addition of buffet style eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and waffles. Overall I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff was super friendly and I would defintely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Sandy or the Salt Lake City area. The only problem I had was the temperature in the room. This may only be specific to the room I stayed in. Although I had the AC set to 68 the entire time I was there, it probably never got down below 74. I was on the third floor and there was a utility closet that may have had some kind of machinery that kept the room a little warmer than I liked. I couldn't hear anyting from the utility closet, but with the AC running all the time, it made it a little difficult to hear my laptop while watching movies.
