Hotel is located back behind a building from the main road. The taxi driver charged us $40. US from the airport. (The return ... was only $32) Taxis have no meter so negotiate b/f you leave the airport. The rooms are clean but not too charming. The evening receptionist is not very friendly and seems reluctant to be of any help but, everyone else at the hotel is very nice and friendly. The young lady who runs The Barn restaurant on the premises is highly intelligent, friendly and a wonderful conversationalist. We paid for a room directly to the hotel when we arrived on a Monday b/c the Orbitz rooms were not available. The price was quite a bit. more than the Orbitz rate. This included a VIP upgrade which was a small breakfast, free local phone calls and free internet. Even if you pay for those things seperately, it is still a better value to get the Orbitz priced rate. We booked on Monday night when we arrived and then left during the week to stay in the Xzuma's. We booked a night at the end of the week so we could catch a flight the next day. The location is pretty close to Paradise Island which is about a $10. -$12.taxi fare. There is a fantastic seafood restaurant close enough to walk to called the Poop Deck. Go there and you will see lots of famous ppl have been there, too. Don't ask the taxi drivers for recommendations. Also there is a grocery store in the plaza next door but expect to pay at least twice of what you would pay in the US. Also, there is a Radio Shack and a computer store there not to mention a Starbucks and KFC.

A wonderful way to get out on the water and spend an exciting day is to go on the POWER BOAT ADVENTURES. They treat you great, take you to a private island in the Xzumas, entertain you, feed you a wonderful lunch and have an open bar. It is absolutely the best way to spend a day in Nassau! It is the main reason we go to Nassau. Check it out at POWERBOATADVENTURES.COM

Clean, Quiet but a little out of the way
kRIS Jun 3, 2009
The staff was great, we arrived a little early and they kept our bags safe until we came back from an excursion. Very ... friendly. It was a little out of the way and you really needed taxis for most anything you would want to do if spending an extended time here, but this maybe true to most island hotels.

"The Poop Deck"- a local place for wonderful food. A little pricey but fresh fish, set on the water, super wait staff!

Comfortable if you don't want hot water
new traveler Jun 2, 2009
We chose the hotel because they indicated it was close to the airport, which it was not. It was actually all the way on the ... other side of the island. The staff was very nice and the room was fairly decent. Beds were not all the comfortable, but we only stayed one night. It was close to a shopping area and a couple of good restaurants. It was also less expensive than other places we checked. Not a place I would want to spend more than one night though. It did appear to have a nice pool area, although we did not use it. Also the security was good.

Great Value in Nassau
Happy Travelers May 8, 2009
We found the Red Carpet Inn to be clean and well managed. We would definitely return. The only negative for us was the ... distance to downtown Nassau. You can ride the local buses to reach the hotel but they stop running about 6:00 or 7:00 PM. The Harbour Bay Shopping Center which is right next to the hotel is a great place. This is not a luxury property but the price is reasonable and it is value for the price. Would recommend this to people who are looking for a good bargain.

Hell Carpet Inn
Shelly Apr 23, 2009
Hotel was very small, with limited amenities. The restaurant had limited menu, hours posted were not honored. The pool was ... not clean. Front desk was not available 24 hours. There was music playing loudly 24 hrs of the day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

My stay at this hotel was ...
Isabella Nov 16, 2008
My stay at this hotel was fine for me and the amount of money I could afford at this time. I guess because of the price, ... there was no personal amennities i.e. shampoo, shower caps etc. Also, I would reccomend that the housekeeper change her mop head, or use a solution to make the room smell better. Her mop had a sour smell. I had to open the door to let the scent out. And another thing, the toilet water pressure was very low. We had to plunge the toilet to let the waste go down. I amagine it was known to manager because a plunger was in the bathroom when we arrive. Other wise everything was nice. The area was next to a shopping mall that provided meals, clothing, and a grocery store. I would stay at this hotel again.

Good deal for the cheap price
Michelle Jun 22, 2008
The Red Carpet Inn is a good choice for people who prefer to spend their money on things other than a hotel. It's quiet, the ... staff is friendly, the room clean, and there's a full size fridge along with table/chairs in the room. This is good if you want to be able to eat some meals in the room. The furnishings, tv and towels are motel quality as is the pool. There is ample parking. The location is off a main street in downtown and next door to a strip mall that has a grocery store, liquor store, Starbucks, Subway, Pizza Hut, and Dairy Queen. It's walking distance from the Paradise Island bridge and Potter's Cay. It's not on the beach, but there are plenty of beaches to drive to on New Providence island.

Fort Montague is within walking distance and offers a great view of Paradise Island and has a decent beach.

The Red Carpet Inn is ok if you're alone. I wouldn't reccommend it for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. Ther were ... small ants in the bathroom and the toilest overflooded.
