Ramada Plaza - Anaheim

At Disneyland for the weekend Oct 13, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

My girlfriend and I stayed here while visiting Disneyland for the weekend. The plaza location is a bit further away from ... Disneyland than some of the other hotels, but the hotel itself is fantastic and much less expensive than the close-in locations. If you can stand a 10 minute walk to the park, you can't do much better than this hotel.

15 min walk to Disneyland

AirlineEmployee Oct 9, 2009

The hotel was very clean and safe feeling. Lots of food choices within a short walking distance. It really is just 15 ... minute walk to Disneyland from the hotel. Only bad part was we could hear the room above us whenever they walked around. Other than that the Ramada Plaza was a great choice for us. We never had to worry about paying for parking.

6-night stay at Ramada Plaza

Theresa - Group coordinator/Mother/Aunt Oct 1, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Comfortable beds, love the refrigerator/microwave. The weekday cleaning crew was wonderful. The weekend cleaning crew was ... less than that, either hurried or not attentive to details (such as replacing used towels). The rooms were quiet. It was within walking distance of Disneyland (great). My only pet peeve was that there were no fans in the bathrooms.

Good place to stay

Happy Traveler Sep 24, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We had a great time at Disneyland. We were happy that the beds were so comfortable, that's about the only time we spent in ... the room was to sleep. Everything was clean when we arrived there and the hotel staff were very kind. We wouldn't recommend the Buffet breakfast, it wasn't that great and was over priced. Also, the hotel didn't have it's own shuttle service and we had to buy our own shuttle tickets every morning.

Good Location at a Good Price

Runner and Mom Sep 6, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

I used this hotel for access to the Disney Half-Marathon Weekend. This is one of the "good neighbor" hotels that had a FREE ... shuttle service to the race location; however, the staff I initially asked about this denied any knowledge about it (they actually said I was mistaken,) so I walked to my pre-race check-in. The walk was around 20-30 minutes, which is fine - but definitely easier to take the shuttle! (I'm relieved that I discovered the shuttle details before the race day.) A family with young children may want to take a shuttle (ART picks up right out front of the hotel, then the return trip is at #17 in the shuttle area by the Disney parks) for their Disney adventures, but the walk is not too bad. I was very surprised that the basic "how to walk/get to Disneyland" wasn't included in the "out and about" section of the hotel binder. This has GOT to be an oft-asked question, so it would make sense to automatically include this information to guests. Although the hotel didn't appear full, my room was next door to a very noisy family - the walls are really thin! Also - I could definitely hear the Disney fireworks, but that will be true of any hotels in this location. The room itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Once the family next door and the fireworks quieted down, I had a wonderful sleep! I loved the spacious tub and the ginger shampoo and soap. I'll definitely consider staying at this hotel again next time I go to Disneyland - and next time I'll probably bring the family!

Subway, a pizza place, and a Mexican restaurant are right around the corner from the hotel, so if you don't want to walk to Downtown Disney to eat a quick meal, there are options very close-by. Also - the liquor store in the same complex has convenience-mart type food, and travel-size toiletries and medicines - I needed some Motrin and was relieved there was a big selection there!

We were pleased to find a small convenience store and strip of eating establishments right around the corner from the hotel - we were able to stock up on a few supplies and save a little money by not having to eat all of our meals inside the park. A very good value for the money

Happy Mom Jul 30, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

My 13-year-old daughter and I live a couple of hours away from Disneyland and drove down for an overnight stay, just for fun. ... We found the hotel to be a very good value for the money. The hotel was attractive and in very good condition and everything was spotless. We arrived 1/2 hour early and our room was ready. And when I asked if I needed to move my car by noon the day of check-out, the staff graciously said that we could keep our car there as long as we wanted (which saved us $12 a day in parking). The staff was professional and courteous -- I wish they'd been a little warmer/friendlier given that we were just there for fun, but they responded very politely to any of our requests. There were LOTS of towels and pillows, a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and safe. The walk to Disneyland was around the corner, and so felt slightly uncomfortable when my daughter and I walked back alone late at night (when Disneyland closed), but I'm a little nervous about things like that. The walk wasn't too long, was fine earlier in the evening, and wouldn't have been of concern if we'd had her dad with us. I'd definitely stay there again.

I have stayed at several of the "Disneyland" hotels over the last few years. This is one of the best for the money. It is ... convenient to both the convention center and Disneyland as well as restaurants and movies. The beds were excellent. We brought our own pillows, hotels pillows just never do cut it do they? Internet was free and strong. Plenty of parking and we could walk almost everywhere we needed to go. Only downside is no continental breakfast.

Disappointed

RedEyeDuo Mar 2, 2009

We got to the hotel an hour before check in. The front desk was helping a customer who was also there early and they were ... extremely nice to him and let him check in ahead of time so we thought we could too. Not so. As soon as we walked to the counter I did admit we were early (as to not have heard their conversation) but let him know we just drove 6 hours and were wondering if we could check in early. He immediately said that they don't do that and we would have to wait. I then said "but that man just got his room". Then he said "you booked your room on Orbitz and we can't negotiate anything with a 'locked' reservation". I guess I look dumb! I didn't argue any further...just said ok. When we did finally get to our room, it smelled sooo bad of mold, I was about to call the front desk when my husband stopped me. Needless to say...I will never return to this hotel again!

No Hot Water!!!!

Lyndsay Oct 10, 2008

As an annual passholder for Disneyland, I have stayed at this hotel at least 5 times in the past. I decided to stay here ... again, having pleasant visits with them in the past. Our first night we did not have hot water and we practically had to beg to have our room changed to a room with hot water. The staff basically acted like we should just deal with no hot water. It turned out that they were aware when we checked in that we would not have hot water and opted not to tell us or put us in a different room. I guess they were hoping we wouldn't notice!! The next morning we had hot water in our different room...thank goodness. The morning after though we did not have hot water. When we called the front desk they said there was no hot water in the hotel and a room change was not an option. I consider myself to be a pretty easy traveler and not very picky but this was ridiculous. Not only was not having hot water horrible but the unapologetic attitude of the staff was even worse. Travelling with small children, we thought this hotel would be a great place to return as we have stayed there so many times in the past...wrong! I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Dining hint

Try to eat outside of Disneyland twice (morning and evening) and just snack when inside. Food and drink are very expensive. Bottled water is just as much as soft drinks at $3 each.

Money savers hint, Short Walk

Shuttle costs $4 round trip, but you can walk from the hotel in 15 mins to Disneyland.

Dining hint, Short Walk

Subway, a pizza place, and a Mexican restaurant are right around the corner from the hotel, so if you don't want to walk to Downtown Disney to eat a quick meal, there are options very close-by. Also - the liquor store in the same complex has convenience-mart type food, and travel-size toiletries and medicines - I needed some Motrin and was relieved there was a big selection there!

Money savers hint, Short Walk

We were pleased to find a small convenience store and strip of eating establishments right around the corner from the hotel - we were able to stock up on a few supplies and save a little money by not having to eat all of our meals inside the park. Nothing fancy, but perfectly acceptable breakfast and late-night dinner options.

Disneyland was close by as was the Honda Center, which is why we chose this particular hotel.
