Beautiful Lagoon Grounds
Gaucho parents Sep 20, 2009
Not the best location for access to restaurants and stores. Must take 101 unless you take the backroute on Foothill. Close ... to UCSB. The room was spacious enough but the bathroom was tiny and not much counter/shelf space. Beautiful lagoon area at center of property. Friendly ducks! Breakfast left much to be desired. The only protien offered was hardboiled eggs.

Beautiful Hidden Treasure
CA lover Aug 25, 2009
Affordable beauty in Santa Barbara. This Ramada hides its' secret from the freeway viewer. Once on the grounds you experience ... a gorgeous pond, home to turtles, koi and ducks with lovely drapping trees, water lilies and surrounding palms. A delightful swimming pool neighbors the pond. Viewers can sit at a pond side bench and relax or chat. Rooms are in excellent shape and spotless, and the breakfast bar is complete and offers many choices. I fully intend to stay there again.

This is an older "hotel" which looks like a motel. It's older and there was no elevator to get up to the second floor. It ... was 6 miles from downtown Santa Barbara. We did have a nice two room suite and they included in the price a nice continental breakfast. They also had a very nice pool area and a nice pond.

Good Value for nice hotel
GGGenealogy Aug 19, 2009
We were looking for a hotel near the UC Santa Barbara campus. This hotel was just 4 miles away and easy to get back and ... forth. The continental breakfast was substantial. Check in was effortless. The hotel was two stories without an elevator which was fine with us. Although the hotel is just east of the 101 freeway, the noise was not bothersome.

All Santa Barbara hotels are overpriced including this one. The hotel is OK if you are willing to drive about 6 miles to SB ... downtown or the beaches. This may take a long time on the always congested highways.

A nice spot to stay near to everything
Ann.com Jul 21, 2009
Needed to find a place to spend the night on our college road trip journey. This place is centrally located to UCSB, and ... downtown Santa Barbara -about 10 minutes in either direction. Located right off of the 101 FWY - which is a good thing for getting around, but a little noisy in the evening with the windows open Fresh cookies at checkin....a nice room that overlooked the lagoon, and CAN I TELL YOU ABOUT THE FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST!!!....a wonderful assortment of pastries, breads, waffles, bagels, and muffins, as well as cereals, juices, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit and great coffee. The staff was courteous and friendly, It suited all of our needs - would stay there again

Great getaway
Shelby Jul 17, 2009
This hotel did not give me a great first impression. The location was right next to the freeway and not in the nicest part of ... town. However, once inside the hotel, the grounds were absolutely beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room we had paid for was very small and right next door to the washing machine and ice machine. We asked the manager if there was another room available and they were very accommodating. The bathrooms need to be updated, but other than that, we had a great time and would stay at this hotel again. Also, the continental breakfast was really well done; danishes, cereal, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal. And to add onto the location: getting to Santa Barbara is very easy and accessible, drive just a few minutes away and you are in downtown Santa Barbara and about 10 minutes driving distance to the Santa Barbara beach and 10-15 minutes to the Santa Barbara Mission.

A nice, quiet, romantic vacation
Katy tanzmariechen Jun 5, 2009
I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our 6 month anniversary, and so he could finally take a vacation from work. We ... didn't spend too much time at the hotel during the day, since we were doing the whole "tourist" thing, going to the historical sites and museums. Our room was wonderful, just the right size, a good view of the mountains, and a comfortable bed. He loved the cookies as we checked in, and we both really enjoyed the breakfast. I would probably stay here again in the future if we come back to Santa Barbara.
