It was close to the hospital
Kathy Oct 14, 2009
Niece was at St Lukes hospital so location was good (1/2 mile). Had to spend a night at the hospital so my daughter (20) and ... niece (26) returned to hotel late at night to get some things and four drunks were making deragatory comments and followed then very closely which made them feel very threatened and afraid. They ran to their room and called me to say what had happened. I told them to call the fromnt desk and report the incident and request an escort from the room to the car. They did get an escort but there didn't appear to be any concern over the behavior of the drunk guests which concerns me quit a bit. I will not return.

Downtown Denver (16th street mall) was a short drive away or a lengthy walk which is not bad. Several restaurants were in the area too.

The 16th Street Mall was wonderful with free shuttle rides every 90 seconds dropping you off at every corner. You can either take the hotel shuttle to the mall (if you are lucky) or there is public bus service. The Cherry Creek shopping center was nice but mostly expensive stores there (Saks, Macy's, Nordstrom, etc.)

Booked at a super rate, going to Denver/Invesco Field for a football game...everything seemed great, complimentary shuttle to ... and from the game.. However, buyer BEWARE..pictures on the site make it look much better than it is!!!This place was a dive! [...]we requested Non-smoking rooms...when we got their they only had smoking rooms available... Bad downtown location! Did not use the shuttle service to the game as it was overbooked! I would NEVER recommend this to anyone.

The location was fine for our business meeting in downtown Denver. The room was a non-smoking room that clearly had been a ... smoking room in previous years. The smell was still pretty bad. The beds were way too hard and uncomfortable. The dining room was dismal; it had not been upgraded for at least 25 years. The food was mediocre to match. I would never stay here again.

Nice Hotel with awful shuttle service
Leslie Sep 28, 2009
Overall, I liked the hotel. I was especially looking forward to the free shuttle service where they advertise that they will ... drive you anywhere up to 3 miles. They say that you have to make a reservation at least an hour in advance but failed to mention that even tho they may not be busy, they only drive on the hour. I made a reservation for Coors Field at 11AM for 5PM. The time came & the van was full. I told the desk clerk & he said the driver would be back 'in a few minutes' to take us to the game. I said that was the reason I made my reservation so early. He still wouldn't let us go. To make a long story short, we didn't get to the game until a half hour after it started plus we had to walk 2 blocks. I complained to the mgr & he apologized but what was the point of making a reservation when they were too busy taking people to the Beer Fest?

Stacey Sep 21, 2009
We spent the second half of business trip here for the accessibility to the zoo, parks and aquarium. Mixed neighborhood, I ... was ok but wasn't so comfortable with my niece and 2 yr old out and about. If I'd been alone it would have been great due to accessibility to restaurants, etc. It reminded me why I miss living in an urban area with lots of quaint coffee shops, books stores, restaurants!

Good Hotel
Jamie Sep 18, 2009
The hotel does have a Western theme, which is funny. We showed up at midnight from the airport. We found a parking spot in ... the back. The bedroom was fine. Nothing exciting. The bed was comfortable but of course the sheets and comforter always make me nervous in lower budget hotels. We slept great and had no problems as we only stayed one night. We had hot water and the shower was good. We did not order room service, which I think is the only food. We got vending machine snacks at about 1am.

Location was OK, one mile from downtown. Hot water in our room was out for three days. Bathroom was in poor shape with loose ... towel rack and sink falling out of counter top. No one seemed to care the water wasn't working. Didn't expect luxury for the price - very reasonable. But hot water is pretty basic. WiFi did not work either... was able to connect to laundrymat next door!

Just ok with a LOT of reservations
Wilmington Dads Jul 13, 2009
We prepaid for a 4-night stay and called the hotel the day before our arrival to verify our reservation and to make sure that ... there would be no issues since our flight did not get into Denver until around 9PM. The hotel assured us that we had prepaid and our room would be waiting. When we got to the hotel around 10PM, we were informed that we did NOT have a room..the hotel's reservation system was receiving too many reservations from online booking and they had overbooked. So we had to move to a hotel about 8 miles away for the night and the hotel would have a room for us by noon the next day. The hotel arranged the room at the alternate hotel..which ended up being in a bad area, and a real dump...it took 4 rooms to get one with A/C and since Denver was having a heatwave we needed it. We went back to the Ramada the next day and they did have us a room and when we told them about the experience at the other hotel, they offered to credit us back one night. We were told to check out in person to make sure we got the credit. The room was a little older, but fairly clean and spacious so not bad. The shower leaked from the knobs but that was ok. The location of the hotel is good. Parking was NOT ok...if you go out at night the lot is almost always full when you come back and you have to drive around the surrounding neighborhoods to find a place on the street to park. Internet Access worked for one day, then after that never again. The hotel had me call a support desk and they said it would be fixed and they would call back..which they never did. When we checked out...the front desk claimed to not have any knowledge of the offered one night credit and the manager was not onsite to assist. The location and price make this an ok value at best but I won't be staying there again.

Denver trip for IMA Conference
Rick Jun 21, 2009
Attended a conference. Walked from Hotel to conference site (about 1.2 miles) Great weather helped. Could have used Bus if ... necessary. Neighborhood - colorful, homeless and run down store fronts - somewhat less than appealing. First day, walked the 16th st strip. Second through 5th day - conference. Walk allowed me to see Food places I would have passed by if in a vehicle.

traveler Jun 11, 2009
The hotel smells very bad. We were very disspointed when we get into this Ramada. It is so different from all the other ... Ramadas that we have stayed. Rooms are dirty. Hotel lobby is smelly. Sheets are old. We have roaches crawling on the wall. This Denver downtown Ramada looks like a very cheap dirty motel. I don't know how they get into the Ramada chain. I wonder if Ramada ever sends quality assurance people to see their hotels are up to standard. Will definitly not stay there again. Won't recommend anybody staying there.
