Convenient Location, Decent Value

Pretty good value for the San Diego area. The location is very, very convenient for most of the places that I needed to go ... (San Diego central and north). Overall a good experience, but this property is more like a motel than a hotel. If you are looking for a Hyatt or similar experience, you won't find it here.

Check out the Gas Light District. It was a Blast, even with a 16yr along there was still plenty of places to enjoy yourself.

Go to the zoo when it opens, and take the skyfari immediately to the top of the zoo. You can have the polar bears and elephants almost to your self.

Great location for restaurants and shopping. There are a lot of car dealerships near by and the hotel is next to the highway. There are also great restaurant near by especially for Korean and Vietnamesse food. The price for the hotel is little bit to high and the bed is stiff. There is no complementary breakfast at the hotel and the hotel does not have an elevator. I only stayed for one night and I would not recommended staying longer then that.

I would have liked more information [...]on the hotel before booking. I prefer to have interior entrance. This had exterior ... entrance. I also did not have hot water which was totally unacceptable. I never had hot water run from the sink. The shower eventually got hot (second day). [...] I did get a different room (finally, hot water from the sink) my last night which came complete with a bug(roach) crawling on the refrigerator. I didn't want my food any where near there. The manager [...] I spoke with when I requested the new room was not very freindly, somewhat rude. [...]

Fantastic Family Sports Trip

The Hotel was easy to find, Located right out side a Middle Class Area, Friendly People working at the Front Desk. My ... family and I were able to get around San Diego in our 3 days there with in minutes of leaving our Hotel Room(San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Gas Light District down town, Shopping Malls, the Beach and the Football Statium)and if we didn't know how to find a spot or location we were able to use the Hotel Computer and print up maps and get the directions.

Decent hotel for the price/location
Traveling Pilot Oct 11, 2009
Stayed for 3 nights on a trip visiting San Diego. Choose this hotel due to the cheap rate and decent location relative to ... downtown. Drive to downtown was only 10min. Room was decent, nothing fancy but had a microwave and fridge which was nice. They've recently remodeled most of the rooms and they looked nicer on the inside than you might think. Beds were more on the firm side but still comfortable. Room was rather generic, but again for the price it was hard to beat compared to other hotels in the area. Free parking was nice too and location was right off the interstate. Quiet, clean enough and cheap.

Pleasant Stay
ZooperKt Sep 14, 2009
We stayed here for a weekend getaway from Santa Barbara. We got a great deal (just a few dollars more than a campsite at the ... koa would have been). The room was clean, and front desk staff was great. W wnjoyed the hot tub, and generally had a great stay. We had a little bit of noise, but we were right ntxt to the pool and there was a big party going on. Location is a little far from downtown locations, but not bad at all.

good place for the money
Just for the night Sep 3, 2009
We needed a room for one night. This place was clean and great for the money. We didn't use the hotel property -- fitness ... center, pool, restaurant -- if those things are even available. We just needed a place to stay for the night to catch an early flight. This place was great for that. Check-in and out was easy. Staff were polite. Room was clean and nicer than I anticipated.

Rouge Traveler Aug 25, 2009
The Ramada overall was ok, nothing spectacular. It worked just great for sleeping. We had a few things that could have been ... better, like the hotel window did not open but 1 inch!?! It was very stuffy in there. I also felt that the pool could have been heated. It was very cold. The staff was very friendly & helpful with restaurant locations.

Bad Service Bland Hotel, Sketchy Guests
First-time SD Visitor Aug 18, 2009
This place may work for you if you don't need help about the area from the front desk. When I asked them questions about ... where things were located they never seemed to know nor did they take initiative to find out. I called once to have them call me a cab and they said that they were too busy and that I needed to call myself! I don't like how the rooms are located in open, outdoor hallways. It was a little scary at night because there was a lot of sketchy guests in other rooms. The rooms are very plain and drab. The bathroom was never cleaned to my expectations. Mold was growing out the shower head! On my last night the deadbolt latch fell off the door! So much for security!

Clean room, quiet, central location for my visit. The best part about the deal was that it was a car and room for only $104 ... per night and that was in July. The hotel rooms are dated somewhat but the price overcomes that minor detail. Plenty of restaraunts nearby. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The hotel has a restaurant. The food is fairly good, but a little pricey. However, there are several restaurants, Target, Wal-Mart and a large shopping center just a short drive away.
