Post Cruise Stay

My main objective was a discount price located close to public transportation to allow us to sight see Vancouver on the ... cheap. The closest bus was just across the street. However, we learned by walking 2 blocks we could avoid an extra zone transportation charge. The sky train was a little less than a mile away, but you could catch a bus to it and avoid walking much. The bus, sky train (and sea bus which we didn't use) is a network. You pay once ($2.50) and have 90 minutes to complete your trip. We purchased a $25 booklet for $19 at an adjacent Safeway.

This hotel is not located AT metro town, as they say online. It is a short drive away from it. I ended up staying at the hilton instead which is connected to the mall and was great to stay at.

Ramada Inn Hotel Metrotown
Very upset Aug 1, 2009
First of all, the hotel is not "at" metro town but couple of blocks away from it. There is no vallet service or anything. I ... called after I landed at the airport at 8:30 am and was told that I could not check in until 3pm! Not to mention that I was really tired and desperately needed the room to crash out for a bit. Upon checkin in, the room did NOT look anything like a suite. Totally smelled musty. I walked right out of the INN and checked into another hotel instead. This Ramada inn is nothing like the ones we have in California. Lesson learned, never to trust what they write abt them hotels online. Total waste of my money, as it was non refundable per the package.

Great location for the price
Adventurous Traveler Jul 9, 2009
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The location were within 15min to 30min drive to the key tourist ... attractions I visited (Vancouver Aquarium, Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain, Capalino Suspension Bridge, Vancouver Airport, 5mins from Metro Town). I wouldn't mind coming back to this hotel again if the price is right.

Good value for the money
Justin Aug 3, 2007
The Ramada Inn Metrotown was a very comfortable hotel to stay in. While the rooms are nothing too spectacular and the hotel ... itself seems a little run down, it was good comfort for the money. We didn't spend too much time in the hotel except to sleep and shower, and it did serve its purpose well for that. Jaguar's pub which is attached to the hotel was a very pleasant place to go and relax with great staff. The location was great, 20 minutes from downtown and very close to a large shopping mall.
Traveler type: Business
The mall is very close, as well as a Safeway grocery store if you are looking to save a bit of money on food while staying there. There was a mini fridge in our room so we were able to buy some groceries and save some money.

My review of Ramada Hotel & Suites Metrotown
Suzanne Jul 30, 2007
Convieniently located, I was disappointed with one of the staff. Not overly helpful. Seemed like we were putting him out ... by asking him questions about dining options. The rest of the staff were really great. The smoking level was horrible. I didn't know that there was such a thing as smoking in a hotel anymore. Room wasn't the cleanest. The location was really good for where we needed to go. Didn't get to try the resturant but it looked good. Overall I would go back and stay but would definatly need to be in the non smoking area.

Reasonable rates, fair accommodations
Barbara Jun 19, 2007
The room was fine, we are bath people and the tub was uncomfortable, but adequate. The room was ok, but chilly and we could ... not find a thermostat, only an on off switch for an air conditionder. It was unusually cold outside for June. There seemed to be no way to go up the stairs, just down so one needed to wait for a single elevator. The food was adequate but not great. The major failing for us was the internet went down the day we arrived and was still not working 4 days later when we left. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, but the building in general was older and not fussily maintained. The price was reasonable but I don't think we will stay there again. I would rather pay a little more and have things a little more pridefully maintained. Everyones standards are different, of course and I think it was an adequate accommodation for the price. On the plus side there was an iron and ironing board as well as a hair dryer in the room and room for hanging clothes and a bench that held two suitcases.

Good Stay
VENKATA May 30, 2007
Ramaada Inn was very confortable. Room is big enough to stay two people with other furniture like chair, table etc. It's ... near to downtown, about 15 minutes drive. So, I prefer to stay here to save few bucks rather than staying in downtown (which may be very noisy place) for high rates. I don't mind to drive 15 minutes. Overall, I am very much satisfied. I will definitely go, if I visit Vancouver again.
