I always book at least a 3 star or better when I travel and was disappointed with the quality and service of this hotel. ... Rooms were plain, beds were uncomfortable. One of them sank in half when sat on. Small TV. Had to jiggle the cable cord to get a clear picture several times. Coffee maker did not work. Heater did not work first night there and went to sleep freezing. They sent a maintenance man to fix which he had to come back twice and then spend about half an hour fixing the thermastat. He was very pleasant though. I asked a worker where a convience store was to get some cold medicine and he just pointed "down that way". I had to ask people on the street where to go. When I checked in the hotel, I was not given any information when breakfast hours were or that the pool was closed. Called front desk to get hours on a local restaurant which they gave me wrong closing hours. No information on anything to do with the hotel. Will not stay there again!

Not that great for the money I spent

It's a very old hotel but maintained in an ok condition. The A/C did not properly work. Its a central a/c, so they gave us a ... air cooler instead of increasing the a/c. They are in a process of renovating the hotel. Local calls are free with in the room but once you are checked out they don't even let you make free calls from the front desk. So overall its not a great hotel for the amount you spend. Unless you don't have anyother choice you may choose this hotel. The convenient thing about this hotel is its close to 7th avenue (free train service within downtown).
