The Ramada Hollywood Beach Hotel, in the Greater Ft. Lauderdale area is becoming one of the most prestigious of the Greater Ft. Lauderdale hotels. The Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort has begun its historic restoration project. Started in September 2008 and the first phase has completed the first $2.5 million of our total $ 20 million historic renovations. This phase incorporated new hallways that include new doors, soffets, antique decorative lighting, paint, a beautiful patterned carpet and a historic photo gallery located on each floor. The lobby also received antique tin ceiling tiles and 1920's period furniture and decorative lighting.
The second phase, planned to begin September 1st 2009 December 15th 2009, includes restoring the architectural features, returning to the Mediterranean Revival style made popular by Addison Mizner, the society architect of Palm Beach. We are also planning to install new hurricane impact windows and paint the entire building. We will vacate the portions of the building under renovation to minimize disturbance to our valued guests.

Dated lobby area but the pool and hot tub were great! Big pool and right next to the ocean. Rooms have kitchenette. Free ... continental breakfast good start to the day. Older crowd, not for party people. Bring the folks.

In spite of having openings facing the ocean, I was put in a room on the second floor facing the garbage dumpster. Guess ... somebody has to stay there. They said it was because I got a low rate on [...]. Thanks loads. No carpeting, so you hear the noisy neighbors upstairs at 4am. Old plumbing...hot water was coming and going the entire shower...jump in, jump out. Could live with it for one night, but for a vacation, or extended time, no way. Good location on the water and the people were very nice.

Unbeatable location for the price
Buffalo Man Oct 30, 2009
This was our first official vacation and it was awesome ! ! We had been working hard for far too long and just wanted some ... sea, sand, and sun. And boy did we get it. The weather cleared just for us and the ocean was delicious. We didn't rent a car because of the proximity to the beach and we did everything within walking distance. The hotel had a 1920's feel to it, yet we knew we were in the 21 century. I love old buildings that are still standing and this one is delightful. The only thing I didn't like was the bed. I woke up the first morning really sore. I finally got used to it the 5th night.(out of 7)The whole trip was fantastic and everything we hoped and wished for.Thank you [...] ! ! !

stay elsewhere!
Dr. D Oct 30, 2009
I've stayed here 3 times, and each time there have been several problems, so I'll stay elsewhere next time, despite great ... location! Room was very small compared to previous stays, but was told entire huge hotel was sold out! It wasn't. Daily construction in adjoining rooms. Very old/remodeled hotel with lots of wall/floor gaps and sloppy painting. Free daily continental breakfast has always been pathetic. Careless and rude staff.

mom who wants valu for hard earned money Oct 26, 2009
We had to travel to Florida for a funeral located in the area of this hotel. All the hotels in Hollywood Beach are old. This ... hotel has been there since the late 1800s so of course it had some historical charm. The rooms however varied as we had to look at 7 rooms to find one that was presentable. Some smelled of gas, some had very old carpet, some had a TV that was very dated, and some were so noisy, as the walls were poorly insulated, that you could hear people walking and talking in the halls. We finally settled on a room that was clean and was presentable. The pool was beautiful but someone threw beer bottles in it during the night so we couldn't use it. The beach is beautiful and the walk path is also updated and beautiful however the night life is not very family friendly and the main language spoken is spanish. I will not be back.

i had writing work to do, wanted a good location and a quiet room, got that, then transferred for $30 a night more to an even ... more quiet suite. I stayed at this hotel 50 years ago as a child, with my family. I remember a grand hotel and expected a "dump." With such low expectations I was very pleasantly surprised.

worst expierence ever
Rol Oct 9, 2009
first room i was given had a broken airconditioner the room was 86 degrees it was 1100pm i called guest services they said ... they would update my room to an oceanside room to make up for the inconveience so we got dressed and packed up our belongings they showed up 25 min later and brought us to another room which was not oceanside but overlooked a wall and dumpsters by this time it was after midnite and we where dog tired so i didnt complain. during the night my wife got up to use the bathroom and when she flushed the john it came so close to overflowing that we where afraid to use it after that. we did not have to worry though because shortly after finally falling asleep we where awakend by a siren and a loud voice telling us to leave the building because it was on fire and use the stairs not the elevators so we still half asleep got dressed and started makeing our way out of the building we got down the hall and started down the staircase when we heard another voice in a barely understandable voice [hatian i think dialect] telling us it was alright to return to our room it was a false alarm so we did but we had to listen to the warning and siren for another 25 min until they finally shut it off. nerve weracking not a good way to start a new day at this point we decided to try there continential breakfast which i found to be ok until upon finishing i ob served one of the employees cleaning off the table cloth with a crumpled dry napkin the previous diner had used my wife and i both watched this lady bus outher tables the same way in this world of flu viruses etc not a good thing ,we then proceeded to checkout and i was informed that i had to pay 18 dollars for parking that it was not included in my rm rate. in conclusion i must say i will never ever stay in a ramada inn and[...] this without a doubt has been the worst hotel expierence of my life.

The unavoidable trip
Spirit of a moment Oct 2, 2009
This was a restful trip for my husband and I. We enjoyed the weather the hotel was nice but could have been better we were ... looking forward to a balcony but we were able to adjust to not having one the breakfast that was included with our package was not very tasty too many sweets that early in the morning which were not fresh. Also the parking was outrageous for guest. The front desk should verbally inform the guest of the cost of parking. I have taken trips much closer to home that included free parking for the guest only at no extra charge (especially those that are out-of-towners) Would I make a return trip or recommend this hotel??? That's not high up on my hotel meter!!! THANKS FOR ASKING

The hotel was built in the 1920s. Lots of nostalgia for an old geezer like me. Nice and comfortable though, as well as clean. ... I would recommend it to families, since it is a very good value and right on the beautiful beach.

O'Malley's is right outside of the hotel on the broadwalk has some really good alligator. They have always had alligator tail and it is probably the best I have had. Now they also added BBQ gator ribs and wings. I didn't try the winds but the ribs are very good.

We did not rent a car so the Hotel conceirge got us a shuttle to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It was $25 a person round trip and then they gave us $20 in casino money. It was like paying $5 a person! Lots of fun. Will do it again next time we come back.
