Radisson Poco Diablo Resort Sedona AZ
Greased Lightening Oct 26, 2009
Well, we expected more of a hotel situation since it was a Radisson but it was laid out in a motel fashion where you pulled ... your vehicle right up to the door which I try to avoid. There were also a number of steps to climb which I managed to navigate, but I could see where that might be a problem for other, less-nimble guests. The jacuzzi was a 1-2 seater and the pool was not heated. I had pre-paid the room but they wanted a bank card for "incidentals" and when I presented them a debit card, the attendant announced there was a surprise $50 charge for use of debit cards. Which is nonsense, debit cards can be run as credit, at least mine can. There wasn't even $50 worth of snacks in the fridge or anything - just 2 water bottles which we didn't use. The rooms were clean but nothing spectacular and their brochure in the room bragged about "250 treat-count" sheets, which someone should tell them you can purchase at Wal-Mart. For $150 a night (plus a $50 surprise charge, refundable or not) it certainly wasn't worth it and we won't be returning there. Too many other facilities to try out.

Dined at the Hideaway restaurant after reading reviews on Orbitz and asking around town. Lots of delicious food (pizza) at a reasonable price as we were told. Ate outside in back with candles on the table overlooking the creek which was nice and you could hear music quietly from an adjoining establishment.

Poco Diablo a Great Sedona Bargain
Ian Oct 8, 2009
Booked the basic room for a mid-week stay and were immediately upgraded to a king suite with golf course view and whirlpool ... bath upon arrival. Spa area is simple, but they have a good staff. Very tranquil setting. Par-3 golf course is a great deal, especially if you go for unlimited play. Tlaquepaque and downtown shopping are a quick two-mile drive, or you can jump on a trolley shuttle. I'm not a fan of sleep number beds, but it's a nice perk if you like them. Room also had gas fireplace. Road construction is going on at the moment from the resort to downtown, but all the noise was away from the resort, and it did not hinder our ability to get in or out of town at all.

The Hideaway is a romantic little pizza and pasta place that we love, and Oak Creek Brewery at Tlaquepaque has good micro-brews, especially their seasonal winter ale. Both are within 5 minutes drive of Poco Diablo, or almost any other hotel in the downtown area.

IT WAS OKAY

ROAD CONTRUCTION WAS EVER ON GOING. VERY DIFFICULT TO GET OUT OF THE RESORT DRIVEWAY. THE PRIVATE PATIO WAS FILTHY WITH BIRD ... DROPPINGS EVERYWHERE AND BIRD NEST WITH BIRDS ATTACKING EVERYTIME WE TRIED TO GET OUT TO THE PATIO, SO WE NEVER REALLY USED IT. THE VIEW ON-LINE THAT WAS SHOWN WAS PROBABLY AN OLDER VIEW. OVERGROWN TREES ON THE GOLF COURSE OVERTOOK ALL VIEWS. THE ROOM WAS VERY COMFORTABLE SO WAS THE SLEEP NUMBER BED. HAD TO CALL TO HAVE OUR ROOM VACUMED AFTER 3 DAYS OF OUR STAY. HOT TUB BY THE POOL WAS NOT WORKING FOR 2 DAYS. SOME OF THE FRONT DESK HOTEL STAFF WAS TOTALLY UNFRIENDLY AND COLD. WE WERE VERY SURPRISED NOT EVEN A SMILE! WALLS WERE VERY THIN CAN HEAR THE NEXT ROOM TAKE SHOWERS. WE WERE GIVEN A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY AND THAT WAS VERY NICE. COMPUTER IN THEIR LOBBY FOR GUEST USE WAS VERY OLD, OUT DATED AND LETTERS WORN ON THE KEYBOARD. FOR A RADISSON OVER ALL WAS PRETTY OLD AND OUTDATED. THEIR RESTURANT IS TO PRICEY. WE EXPECTED MUCH MORE FROM A RADISSON. OVERALL, WE LIKED THE KING POCO ROOM BUT WE WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN.

Well Prices

This was my first time touring Arizona so my friend and I decided to stay one night in Sedona before reaching our next ... destination Flagstaff. We were only there for one night but we were very impressed by the room. We got a lot of bang for our buck. The price was right and the distance to shops and restaurants was perfect. When I first saw the photos online I was a little scared and worried that I may end up disappointed (Its happened before so why not this time). the bathroom was spotless and everything was updated and modern. A clean bathroom is a good sign that everything else is well maintained.

It was a great location. The only thing we did not like was that the streets aroundthe the hotel were under repair. It got ... really muddy when it rained. The room was twice as big as normal. It was very quiet. The restaurant was very reasonably priced.

Anniversary in the Red Rocks
Mema Apr 22, 2009
We loved the layout of our room. It was also so nice to have Sleep Number Beds and they were very comfortable. The bathroom ... set up was very visitor friendly. Having a sink in the bathroom and also outside of the bathroom made our morning routine so exceptionally fantastic! The sliding glass doors were huge and provided such a great view. The view of the golf course and the surrounding Red Rocks was beautiful. We sat on the patio and had wine to celebrate our anniversary. It was so relaxing and quiet. We also enjoyed the visits of the golf course ducks to our patio! The restaurant was fantastic. We had dinner and breakfast at this establishment and we were so very happy with the food and the service. The wait staff were very personable and prompt. The front desk and restuarant staff were friendly and very professional. All in all we had a very wonderful stay!

The room was newly redecorated. it was good. good location, great staff, restaurant was quite good, we didn't golf but having ... the small course there was pleasant and I liked to watch the ducks. pool was under construction while we were there but staff made sure we could get to adjoining property pool. yay! This is a good hotel. go for it.

Paul Apr 12, 2007
We were thrilled about the location of Poco Diablo relative to Sedona. Our room was extremely comfortable and spacious and ... the recent renovation was very tasteful. In addition, we had a wonderful view of the resort's beautiful golf course. When we arrived we decided to upgrade to a jacuzzi suite--well worth it. An overall very pleasant experience that we will definitely reccomend to family and firends!
