Wonderful Getaway
World Traveling Mom & Dad Aug 31, 2009
This was our second stay at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. It is a beautiful location. Many of the same staff were there for our ... second visit. They were terrific. Everyone is friendly and really seem to enjoy their jobs. They will do anything to help out. Ernesto at the pool is terrific! The activities staff are great! We had a great time with water volleyball, trivia and water aerobics. Thanks to Alexandrea, Fransico and Raul!

The hotel was enjoyable yet a bit culturally confused to me. All the cultures meld together to a very good exterior along ... with interior but more mexican influence would have been nice.

There is not much to shop for besides normal side street wears. The only big places are Diamond International and Senior Frog Offical store. Doesnt look like much at all until you get to the resort.

We walked on the beach, we swam, we ate, we drank, we danced and we were conquered. The facilities were excellent, the staff ... was personable, very courteous and knowledgeable. The food overall was quite good. We met some people whom we enjoyed. The guitarist, [...], was excellent and he sang beautifully, in both English and Spanish. We had small problems with both the coffee maker and toaster; they were both replaced within 20 minutes of my calls. We have been to Ixtapa and Puerto Vallarta previously. This was the best resort of the three and the beds were very comfortable. Our only negative: Prices for the recently opened spa services were incredibly high. We thought about getting a 'couples massage' but the prices were four times what we pay here at home.

If you like lots of food and plentiful drink, with lots and lots of people, try the Mexican Fiesta. Otherwise, take a trip or two into town. The resort is located ten minutes from Mazatlan, but there's a free shuttle to the other Pueblo Bonito. From there, you can take a bus or a pulmonia (unique to Mazatlan). Always set a price with the driver beforehand; they are willing to negotiate.

Andrew May 3, 2008
The Pueblo Bonita Emerald Bay proved to be a terrific place to visit during the week of April 27-May 3. The room (a suite ... with a comfortable bedroom, a large sitting room/breakfast room, two baths and a balcony) was, if anything, more than we needed, at a price that would have been reasonable if we'd only had the bedroom and bath. The grounds are very pretty. The pool complex was very large, with a separate -- and apparently very quiet --adults only pool. The staff was consistently polite and very helpful. The food at the main restaurant was good, and the deli was a perfectly good place to order lunch or a light breakfast. Prices for prepared food were very reasonable. The weather was excellent; no rain or wind, with temperatures in the 80s during the day and comfortable for shorts and short sleeves in the evening. I didn't find the town of Mazatlan all that exciting, although we did have very nice (and surprisingly inexpensive) meals at Los Zerapes in the hotel area and Pedro & Lola's on the central square. Service at both of those restaurants was particularly good. We played golf at Estrella Del Mar. The course itself was a very nice resort course, well maintained and quite pretty. We reserved sets of clubs when we made our reservation to play; however, when we got to the course (at about 9:30), we were told that no complete sets were available. We ended up with rather mixed sets (a few irons from one set, a few more from another), which wasn't all that much of a problem. Estrella is a long way from Emerald Bay, but the trip and round made for a fun day, and we got back to Emerald Bay in time to hit the pool. Overall, I would certainly go back to Emerald Bay.

Great Weather

We have stayed @ other Pueblo Bonito resorts that have had more to offer in regards to restaurants, fitness center, resort ... sponsered activities. Overall it was a pleasant stay. We would of liked a balcony in our room with an outside grill. We had to pay for a VCR, seems to me for the price of the room this should be included.

The town of Mazatlan was about a 15 minute drive from the resort, which offered hourly shuttle service. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in town. Highly reccomend Panama rstaurant clean, quick service, excellent food and affordable. Must see places, the Cathedral, cliff divers, marketplace, and try the homemade icecream out side the marketplace.

My review of Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay
John Mar 14, 2008
Arguably the nicest hotel grounds in Mazatlan and the quietest as the hotel is away from the road. Great location for ... hanging around the pool or a sunset beach-walk. Ocean here is cleaner than in the Golden Zone. Shuttle bus to town is convenient. Hotel restaurant is a decent value for what you get when ordering a la carte. Dinner buffets perhaps less of a value. The main negative thing about staying at Emerald Bay is the seemingly paper-thin walls. Ask for a quiet room (e.g. top floor room or a room on the end of a bldg.) when checking in. Generally older people stay here, along with a few families with kids. If you're looking for party-action, you're better off staying in the Golden Zone.

Great Get Away
leonard Aug 19, 2007
My wife and I stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay for three nights and four days. Our stay was wonderful. The ... facilities are exceptional and the staff is friendly and efficient. The amenities are second to none---the swimming pools are great, the rooms are comfortable and well maintained and the main restaurant is excellent. It is hard to determine if the beauty of the resort and beach were the best parts of our stay or if it was the friendly and courteous service that we received. All three were special. My wife and I enjoyed our stay to the point that we purchased a time share at the resort and we are anxious to return. It is without hesitation that I recommend the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay to all for a wonderful vacation Get Away.

We Wanted to See the New Mazatlan
Sandy Jul 28, 2007
We have a time-share in Mazatlan, but wanted to see the new area where Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay is. It is alot further from ... the main action, but the hotel has alot of activities/amenities to keep couples & families happy while staying at Emerald Bay. You won't see alot of locals vacationing here. From the moment you walk in the lobby the scent of lavender greets you and you know this is alittle of the states mixed with the wonderful favor of Mexico. This American owned hotel is classy in everyway from the botanical gardens to the elegant pools, to the fun activites (yoga, pilates, wine & cheese tasting, to name a few.) Time share presentations are very low pressure, which we really appreciated! I found the restarant alittle noisy, but all in all, we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are great. We stayed in the Master suite, but viewed the Junior Suite also. They are both nice. The main beach in front of the hotel is alittle rocky and they suggest you swim alittle further away. There wasn't the ocean swimming at this hotel by people like on the main drag where the ocean is very popular day & night with the hotel guests. But the plus side of this is you will not be pested by local vendors that can really be a annoying on the main beach. We were very happy with our stay at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay, and would return.
