The Phoenix Park is a perfect location for visiting or meetings on Capitol Hill and sightseeing as it is located 1 block from ... Union Station Metro. I've always wanted to stay at this hotel because I'm so fond of The Dubliner Pub located in the hotel. Unfortunately, the pub contributes to a lot of the noise at night as the crowd spills out into the street, as well as sirens and other big city noise. The hotel would be wise to upgrade the windows for noise control. Otherwise, my room was beautifully decorated and clean. I didn't like the pedestal sink in the bathroom; no place to put a toiletries bag except on the toilet seat cover.

It was very central, right next to Union Station in D.C. and in walking distance of the Washington Monument, Holocaust ... Museum, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, all of the Smithsonian Museums, the Crime and Punishment Museum, the International Spy Musuem, and the list goes on and on! There are a bunch of great restaurants right by the hotel, including the Dubliner (in the hotel) as well as the Capitol City Brewing Company (across the street).

Phoenix Park Hotel, DC
Teacher John Oct 8, 2009
The Parker Phoenix, locationwise, was ideal for my purposes in DC. As soon as I checked in, I had a moment and was in my ... boxer shorts before my next meeting. A waitstaff knocked then immediately came in. Through no fault of her own, we stood there together, me in my boxers talking about bathroom linens. I told the front desk about this unsettling experience and the gentleman told me not to worry, that the waitstaff didn't mind! The bathroom was clean, for the most part, except for the fact that there were looong hairs on the floor which attached to my foot as I stepped out of the shower. Unfortunate small things that I would expect to not have to worry about given the reputation and price of this particular hotel. Next time, back to the George.

The location was great!!! Just a short walk to the Metro. Capitol is just an easy 5 minute walk. Staff was very helpful. They ... knew alot about how to get around without having to spend to much. Only one bad thing, the price of breakfast at the hotel is WAY to over priced for what you get. I would walk to Union Station(metro) and eat 3 times the amount of food for 4 times less then what we paid at the hotel. Other then that I would stay there again.

There was a problem with the reservation the first night, but the next morning the front desk staff were great help in fixing ... it. Call ahead if you are reserving a room for more than one person but you're flying separately. This location is one block from Union Station with great shops and Metro access. It is also about four blocks from the Capitol and the beginning of the Mall with the many museums, etc. The Dubliner pub is connected to the first floor of the Phoenix Park and we ate there three times. One of the evenings we were there for the live music - very nice. There is no swimming pool, but the rooms are very nice, decorated with an old-world decor but with a current HD tv. Loved my stay in Washington DC and at the Phoenix Park!

Cute little hotel, recently remodeled, best hotel bed I've ever slept in. Great view of Capitol from middle of street in ... front of the hotel. Short walking distance to Capitol and Supreme Court, near Union Station and Metro and right on the Cirulator bus line, where for $1 you can ride to Georgetown and other interesting places. Other than a very small room, which was to be expected in this location, the hotel was a great value and location. Check-in ... was quick and the staff friendly. Bed was very comfortable. Location is great with Union Station one block away, so if you are flying into Baltimore or National airports just take the train into town. The east end of The Mall (The Capitol) is a short walk away. And if you don't want to walk the entire length of the Mall, catch a Metro train at Union station to get to other points of interest.

Unbearable noise from two street-level bars, both with outside drinking. Noise didn't stop until about 3:30 am for both ... nights of our stay. Hotel wouldn't honor accommodations made via Orbitz. Dual hot/cold air blowers in room were set for summer system, evening though we were there in April and outside temperature was in 40's. Asked for space heater and it took 6 calls to front desk to get response. Toilets backed up.
