The hotel is a "refreshed" 1950/60's motel. It was clean and a fair value. Bathroom was tiny. Pillows were poor and the ... mattress need to be replaced. Pictures are better than reality.

Great place to be
Carmen Anderson Nov 11, 2009
This was a really great location. I went with friends and we really had a blast. It was a weekend getaway for us. The ... environment was condusive to relaxation. The guests were great. We had a chance to meet many people who came to the resort from different parts of the world. There were plenty of minature golf locations and waterslides around the area. There were other interesting things to do near the hotel. The mall and shopping districts were located very near the hotel as well. We spent a lot of time in the ocean enjoying the waves. I recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys being in a quiet area where things are pretty close.

Don' go on memorial day weekend
Nana May 25, 2009
It was like one big Frat party by the pool garden section where unfortunately we stayed. The police were called 2 nights in a ... row due to the drunken disturbances. We left a day early due to lack of sleep. Young drinkers started at 10am poolside and continued through until 3am. It was a nightmare! We were told at the desk it happens every Memorial Day. So much for a family holiday. We had paid for 2 rooms and our families had to leave early, we were not offered quieter rooms, a mere $20.00.The garden pool had to be closed completely due to being so dirty. I would not recommend families go there on Memorial Day Weekend.

The stay was realy great. Every evening if we wasn't going to a sight seeing place, we would go down and ask the staff ... suggestions based on what we thought we would like to do, shopping, eating, etc. and they always had good suggestions. They were always very helpful and friendly. The hotel was great and a great staff just makes it a wonderful place to stay without worry about anything.

"NOT FOR ROMANCE"
Amos Apr 14, 2009
Their site says all their rooms are oceanfront private Balcony, NOT TRUE!!! We got stuck in one that had a window and it was ... in the garden/atrium DO NOT BE FOOLED!The worst parking Ive ever seen in my LIFE! The whole time we were there we were looking for parking. This is not a place for couples looking for a romatic getaway. They let the kids and teens hangout in the jacuzzi, which is gross to me...I didnt want to get in it after they have all been soaking their feet in it all day!

Great value for what you get...
Amy Aug 9, 2008
My boyfriend and I spent one night in Daytona for our one year dating anniversary. We are a couple in our 30s and live ... within an hour from the hotel. When we got to the hotel we realized that parking is not fun...lol...but this isn't just a Perry's thing - it is a Daytona Beach thing. Perry's has plenty of parking - it just won't be close to your room most of the time. A full size van or truck would have great difficulty with the narrow turns...but they could use the lot across the street to avoid that issue. So once we got parked, we checked in. check in went smoothly. The lobby area is small and was crowded but lines moved very quickly. The lady at the counter was friendly and very helpful. We requested top floor right at the counter and were given it. The hotel is obviously older but it is well kept. When we arrived to the room, the heavy door was a bit difficult to open but the room was immaculate. Not a speck of dirt or a single bug. The room was plenty spacious and decorated nicely. The other clientele was mostly low-middle to middle class families. Lot of seniors and kiddos. The indoor pool is fabulous and was not crowded anytime we were there. The back lawn/pool area was quite nice but we really didn't use it. We were mostly in our room or off property. We had the balcony with oceanview and that was fabulous! Beds were comfortable and having the mini-fridge was great. The beach area was somewhat populated during the day but was almost empty at night. We went to dinner for local seafood and then walked down on the beach to toast our evening. PROS: Price...at about $100 on the beach - can't beat that! Grounds are pretty. Cleanliness is great. Donut breakfast is nice (doughnuts are all cake style...not my personal fave and that is all that is offered with OJ or coffee). Luggage carts available for use. Beautiful sunrise (gotta wake up to watch!) CONS: we could hear the toddler next door quite a bit...so that was disrupting for our couples vacation...we had left our kiddos at home. Parking was difficult with a midsize truck...had quite a walk to the room

We enjoyed the Daytona Lagoon waterpark...they have cheaper matinee admissions...like $15 for 4pm-10pm and only $6 for Wed matinee.

Nice family resort
Amy May 17, 2008
Perry's is in a great location. The section of beach it was situated on was not too crowded and it was very convenient to go ... back and forth between the ocean and the pool. We didn't have any children with us but the resort is definitely a very family friendly place. Lots of kids around that looked like they were really enjoying themselves. The staff was friendly. The free doughnuts were good but I wish they'd let you carry a doughnut or two outside the breakfast room because there wasn't a lot of seating in it. The room was very clean and plenty big. We paid under $100 for an ocean view room on a summer weekend and it was definitely an excellent value for the money. The resort is a bit dated and overall not as nice a place as some of the newer resorts our friends stayed at further up the beach but I would definitely go back!

Perrys is a clean and friendly resort. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable and clean. I like the Oceanfront rooms and ... the morning Home-made Donuts! The pools and lawn area are great... the Hot-tub could use a stronger pump though. After 2 visits, we will be back next spring!

I great place to relax
Rhoda Apr 20, 2008
I love this hotel and have been there many times. The beach is fantastic and I love how nice and quiet it is. Never any loud ... crowds or noises and a great indoor pool as well as outdoor pool and beach. I was a little disappointed this time because I always stay on the upper floors but had to take a bottom floor which would be great if you had kids and didn't like going up and down the elevators. The upper floor are more private and the balcony gives you a chance to sit outside and enjoy the view. I didn't get the kitchen area this time and will make sure I request it next time. Did have a small microwave and refrigerator plus sink but I like the suite idea so much better which is in most of the rooms. I try to go back to Perry's every few months just to get away from it all.

Very family Friendly
Cheryl Sep 23, 2007
Perry's was a great experience. It had everything I wanted, the oceanview room, with a balcony. It was clean and quiet and ... close to grocery shopping since it had facilities for cooking. The pools were nice and clean and it was very relaxing. I liked that there was a safe in the room and was also an Ironing Board and Iron to freshen my wrinkled clothes. It had a small refrigerator and microwave and a separate table for eating. It was all that we needed. I will bring my family the next time to enjoy all the outside activities. It had places to cook-out and it had Shuffle board besides an indoor pool if the weather was bad outside.

Nice but not great
April Sep 22, 2007
The rooms were clean and nice enough but nothing fancy. The hotel staff was nice except for when we checked out of the motel ... - perhaps she was not a morning person. I asked for the copy of the charge card they made at check-in and she stated they did not do that - well they did along with a copy of your driver's license. With identity theft being such a problem, I think the motel should be a little more sensitive. Also, you are charged for the in room safe whether you use it or not. Although the charge is listed in some paper work you sign in the beginning, the point is not brought up. Parking spaces are very tight and not that many of them are close to the rooms.

BEAUTIFUL ROOM
JOHN Sep 13, 2007
We were extremely pleased with this hotel. The outside & inside decor were beautiful. The room big & extremely ... comfortable. There was room for everything, and the fact that it was located right on the Ocean was magnificent. The view beautiful. The staff was very, very helpful and friendly. The balcony was big enough and overlooked everything esthectic, hence, it was gorgeous. My only disappoints were: Non-smoking in the South Tower as well as no restaurant or bar onsite. The atrium which included a huge indor pool as well as a jacuzzi was awesome. We are going back @ Christmas.

There were restaurants, bars, shopping (plenty of it), miniature golf & a boardwalk (although we did't go there) for children. Lots for children to do, especially in the summer. Everything in Daytona Beach Shores is spotless and clean.

Great location if you love the beach
JAMES May 20, 2007
The motel was not much to look at from the street, but the room was great, and the beach side view was fantastic. I loved the ... beds, they were very comfortable, and I never like the beds in motel rooms. The beach side amenities and view were incredible. The beach was about 40 feet from our room, and in that 40' there were shuffle board courts, six gas grills, plenty of chairs for tanning, horseshoes, lush green grass, picnic tables and two pools. If it is too cold outside, there is an indoor pool with an awesome ambience. Great place to stay!
