Very convenient
Old Blue Oct 29, 2009
A convenient location, within walking distance of Morman Square and many great restaurants and pubs. Being a couple blocks ... out of downtown is a plus, especially with all the building and road construction going on now in the downtown area. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Traveler type: Couples
Squatters (across the street) and Red Rock Pub both have great pub menus with a few dishes out of the ordinary (e.g., ahi tacos), the Market Street Grill (a half block away) has a great breakfast menu, surprisingly inexpensive, freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, and an expansive oyster menu! Walking is good, because SLC taxi service can be slow.

This was a quaint old hotel, situated in downtown Salt Lake City. We were within walking distance of Temple Square, downtown ... shopping, & several restaurants. The bed was very comfortable & we got a good night's sleep after each day of sightseeing. However, being there for a week, it would have been a great convenience to have a coffee maker, and microwave in the room. We rented a refrigerator for $10/day, along with paid parking for $10/day. Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay and would recommend it to other couples. Not really a place for kids.

A pretty and unique, but small hotel
Graceful Traveler Oct 3, 2009
We spent one night at the hotel and didn't have time to check out the amenities much. We just needed a quiet place to unwind ... between stops on our trip. It is a pretty and romantic hotel and was good for a couple without children like us. My only complaint is that the room was so small that we could hardly move around the King size bed. It overwhelmed the room. The bed was very comfortable -- the best we slept in during our two-week trip.

Besides the steakhouse and Macaroni Grill downstairs, you are in downtown so plenty of places to eat within a few blocks, including the Gateway Mall and Farmer's Market (on Saturday).

Cute boutique hotel only a block away from the Salt Palace Convention Center. Only 1 old elevator that can only handle maybe ... up to 4 passengers. Room was clean, but the floors were creaking. Overall it worked for me.

Justin Aug 19, 2009
Had a great time. Service was second to none. The only thing that I would say was a negative was that the power in downtown ... SLC went out and I had to get ready via flashlight for a very important meeting. Other than that I can't say enough about the service and overall joy this hotel brought to my trip.

Perfect Place To Stay

The valet parking attendant when I arrived set the tone for a warm, friendly service oriented staff that couldn't be more ... courteous or helpful. The hotel it self is charming, spotless and very comfortable. The room although small was beautifully decorated, very clean and the bed linens luxurious and inviting. The restaurant was a great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing with a drink and good food. For a more casual meal, the Macaroni Grill just next door has a great menu and a friendly staff. This is a hotel I would recommend to everyone going to Salt Lake City .

Nice Hotel
Family Traveler Jun 8, 2009
This is a nice historic hotel that has been restored. The rooms are small but the furnishings are very nice. It is in a ... great location in downtown Salt Lake with many restaurants within walking distance and a large shopping mall just a couple of blocks away. We were in town for a family event so getting to and from the airport and to the interstate was important. Because of the hotel's location, both of these needs were met.

Very Nice
Scanner 39 Jun 8, 2009
I went to SLC on vacation and took other writers advice and stayed here. The experience was very good. This is an old hotel ... and european modeled so the room are on the small side. The bathroom was definately too small with the vanity on the outside in the room. Other than that small grievance the room was comfortable and very clean. I had a classic single which had a king size bed which took up most of the room, it was perfect for 1 person but with two could get a little crowded. The staff was very young (I don't think anyone was over 25) but very helpful and very friendly. For those who don't like noise be careful on which side your room is on, if you face the front it could get a little noisy from the weekend crowd of bar hoppers. It is close to everything downtown and there are plenty of restaurants nearby with two being in the hotel(Christopher's which is expensive, or Marcaroni Grill). Overall this was a very pleasing stay and I would stay there again.

The Temple Square is worth a visit and is only a few blocks away. The Mormon Tabernacle choir rehearses on Thursday (mornings I believe) and the rehearsal is open to the public. The grounds of Temple Square are open until 10:00 p.m. (at least when I was there in May) but the buildings close at 9:00 p.m., so get there early enough to visit the various buildings inside.
