The bed was a king size bed and looked like it had seen better days. The bed linens were old and worn and didn't even match ... in colors. The mattress was very uncomfortable and lumpy. There were no coffee stirrers in the coffee basket. Since it is winter time and there were not many guest there, it was quiet and that I enjoyed. Otherwise I have no other complaints.

Walked the beach,Relaxed in the room, which was very outdated. Old TV with broken knobs. Rusty bathroom and kitchen fixtures. ... Kitchen cabinets old and falling apart. Carpet was old and very dirty. Drapes where falling off the rod. We come to Myrtle Beach every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this was the worst hotel we have stayed in.

Arrival at the Hotel was a little early so had to wait for room, no problem. [...]This room had not been cleaned yet. Had to ... go back down to front desk and inform them room had not been cleaned yet, so they gave us another room, still not ocean front. This hotel even though it advertises ocean front rooms the way the hotel is situated on the property, most of the rooms are ocean view not ocean front. When you ask for ocean front you want to go out on balcony and look straight at the ocean looking up and down ocean front, cannot do this at this particular hotel. Have stayed at other hotels where they advertise ocean front and our stays have been wonderful, this stay was mediocre at best.

The kitchen was not cleaned up well after the previous guest. It lacked in cooking supplies. The stove top gave me a shock ... while I was cooking! I feel the rooms need updating to keep up with the other hotels in Myrtle Beach.

Price was ok but hotel needs work
trailtroll Oct 19, 2009
Hotel looked very nice from the outside, the lobby was clean and neat, however, the room (supposedly a non smoking facility) ... smelled of cigarette smoke and urine. The bed's mattresses were worn out and the pillows basically non-existent. Bed cover was old and thread bare as was the blanket. Sheets were clean. This hotel needs lots of repair work. The sliding glass door to the balcony barely worked and was extremely noisy. The room is MUCH smaller than I expected. The bathroom was so small that 2 people cannot get in it at the same time. The shower was nice. The kitchenette needs the cabinets replaced as they do not stay shut and are coming apart. The carpet in the rooms smells (like urine and cigarettes). Hotel staff is very friendly. The Hotel restaurant (Grand Central Station) had a breakfast buffet at a decent price however, some of the items seemed old (bacon was questionable). Restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner at same restaurant was quick and decent. Restaurant staff is made to wear ridiculous conductor hats which make the restaurant seem hokey and out of date. The server was very friendly and quick to get our meals out as we were already late for a show. Dinner specials are available depending on the day of the week. Food was much better than I expected (considering the chucky cheese hats).

Cathy Oct 18, 2009
Good value for the price. We didn't like the "free gift". Which meant they were pushing the selling of the rooms for ... time/share or condos. We had two reminder phone calls within two hours of check in to come down to get our "free" gift. I don't like being hassled on vacation. The restaurant and bar were closed all but 1 night of our visit. We had a great view from our room.

When I asked where the carts were so we could get our luggage, I was told that only the Bellmen have them and they work for ... tips. I was appalled. They said that all the hotels were doing that now, which is a lie. We stay in Myrtle Beach all the time and have never encountered this. The room was so tiny that my 16 month old kept hitting her head on the table. There was no supervision of the pools and boys were peeing in the lazy river. It was the smallest lazy river I've ever seen. Housekeeping turn the air off when we were gone so it was stifling when we returned.

Great price and location. I live in Myrtle Beach and got the hotel for a friend and I who was visiting me. Everything was ... clean, and the staff was very accomandating, From the time we left the room everything was so convenient to get to, i.e. indoor pool, outside deck and pool and very short walk to the beautiful beach. Would come back and stay again.

Mamas vacation weekend Oct 10, 2009
When we got there the staff was friendly and helpful but there was not any luggage carts available. Parking was across the ... street and the elevator was out of order in the parking deck, which was inconvenient. The room was clean, but needed alot of renovations, especially in the kitchen. The rooms were not as spacious as the pictures online were. It was very peaceful and seemed to be family oriented.

First, plan on fixing and eating a few meals in your room, since there's a kitchen. There are a couple of grocery stores within easy driving distance. Second, research local attrations on-line before your trip. Several offer discounted tickets or free upgrades.

Benjamins calabash buffet. Good food. a bit expensive. 22 dollars per adult! but crab legs are included. DO NOT go to the seafood trawler! they have 2 bars. one for salad and one for their seafood. and they are asking each adult to pay 16 dollars..NOT worth it. California ultimate pizza was good 17 dollars for a medium specialty pizza.
