Great Resort! Staff was excellent!
pjcat77 Nov 7, 2009
This is a very nice resort, one of the better in the areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool was cleaned daily, chairs ... were clean and towels readily available. Drinks were made to liking, weren't stingy on the the alcholol. Restaurants had a nice variety, all were included in the price, except one, Gabi Beach. Never went there, but heard it was good. Passions was my favorite! Rooms were clean. Weren't stingy on the towels in the room either, which I love! Entertainment daily, and was ok, typical to resort entertainment. Would definetly recommend this resort!

We went on this vacation because we were attending a wedding. The resort is beautiful!!! The grounds are beautiful and the ... rooms are beautiful! The drinks were great. The staff tried very hard but was not knowledgable about their own hotel. I would ask the same question to 3 people and get 3 different answers. They are just very laid back. The pool could use some minor repairs- tiles falling off. The food was my biggest complaint. It was not very good. I hvae been to other all inclusive resorts, and this was one of the poorest food choices. The restaurants were empty with 2 tables full at each seating (this is off season), so when you sat down the atmosphere was poor. You feld like you were where no-one else wanted to be. They would only allow 2 tables at a time. Crazy!!! Room service was really good. Very friendly and decent food. Shows at night were okay. The circus show was great, but others were fairly boring. Not much night life at all.

What an incredible trip! Just left there last Saturday, and I didn't want to leave! From the moment I stepped out of the car, ... and was greeted I was in complete awww! Our room was immaculate, very clean and every time we came back to the room, we had new towels, bed was made, etc. The food was incredible! Ate at a different resturaunt every night and every night got better than the last. The activities available were amazing! Went Horseback riding and went out on motor boats that took us to the middle of the ocean to go snorkeling. Every night after dinner there was some form of entertainment singers, circus acts, flame throwing, absolutely amazing!! The club area was perfect for salsa dancing as well! If you are considering this resort! I say hands down you will not be disapointed! I will be back and I have no interest in visiting any other resorts in Punta Cana besides Palma Real

Coming off of A St. Thomas, and a Mexico vacation the past two years D.R. is in the lead by far. The hotel was spotless, and ... the staff worked constantly to maintain this. The service was top notch, and you really get the feeling that they care about your time there, and honestly cater to this goal.

Cougar Aug 21, 2009
The room was beautiful, clean, great view from the balcony. Loved the swim up bar and lounge chairs in the pool! We ran on ... the beach in the morning and hit the fitness center afterwards. Great way to start the day! Beware of the locals waiting along the beach outside the resort to get you to look at their souveniers...kind of annoying. Makes you not want to walk along the beach too far! We went parasailing, which was awesome! But the highlight was swimming with the dolphins and sea lions. Well worth the money. Keep in mind when you make reservations for these activities, when they say to be in the lobby at a certain time, they are on 'Island time' and we've experience both times that they were ~ 45 min to 1 hour late. The food was delicious! We were able to make reservations 4 of the 5 nights for dinner at the restaurants. Food was well worth it, but it was funny how they would say the restaurant is booked, but when you're there, its only maybe half full.

We stayed at The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana. My husband and I had a wonderful time. We recommend that you ... stay at The Reserve if you want a peaceful and relaxing vacation where all your needs are met. 24 hour room service was awesome! However, remember to carry a lot of cash for tips. At this place, you had to tip your way through to amazing service. Comparing to a previous trip to a Sandals resort, this trip's downfall was the transportation service to and from the airport. They were not punctual at all! Asides from the excellent food, beach and pools, we recommend you take a safari tour with Bavaro Runners to the villages and get to experience the local culture, food and amazing scenery.

We went for a wedding. When we arrived it was chaos. Rooms were not ready. We were hungry from being on the plane. We ... arrive at around 3:30, but the buffet was closing. No food at an all inclusive? Oh we can order room service-BUT OUR ROOMS WERE NOT READY!!! You could NEVER get a dinner reservation, but the restaurants were empty. Oh you could get a reservation at 10:00 PM. Then when you get a reservation, try to get a drink-That's a joke! Look, when you pay a lot of money, and expect all inclusive all the time, you expect ALL THE TIME! I would have rather paid for what I wanted when I wanted it!!! The beach was OK. Oh and you had to pay for anything extra- laundry, etc. Room keys kept on not working, and you had to go to the front desk to replace them. When we checked out, our rooms were all mixed up. Our room was under someone elses name. This happened for other family members as well. Oh and we had an ocean view. Ya we saw the ocean over trees, from a very far distance!

It was a wonderful experience, with attentive staff and a beautiful resort. We went in June and it was extremely hot and ... humid, not so much an issue when you're in the pool and ocean during the day, but at night it was a bit oppressive. Food was plentiful with many options, overall quality was fair to good. Be aware of some (not all) staff members pushing the timeshare presentation, or "vacation packages." There is a wide selection of liquor, day activities and pool side bungalows. We would return, but not in June!!!
