Nice Location by Pantheon
Gary Sep 5, 2009
Hard to find hotel initially. The hotel is centrally located near to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Torre Argentina for ... buses/trams to Rail station and Airport. There are lots of tourists and police around so the neighborhood felt safe. This was my 4th trip to Rome. A negative was the hotel was located 15 minutes walk from the nearest subway station, which made traveling to other major sites, such as the Coliseum and the Vatican somewhat difficult. This is a great location for a first time tourist.

Save time/money getting to the airport by taking the nearby street car at Torre Argentina to Trastervere for the commuter train to the Airport.

Great location but not 4 stars
Rome vacationer with family Aug 14, 2009
Situation: Family trip to Rome - we rented two rooms. Great location near the pantheon / plaza minerva!! The hotel is ok ... for the price given that it is half of the price of other hotels in that area. This hotel is NOT however 4 stars as advertised on orbitz because of a couple of things: - Elevators: To get to the hotel which is on the second floor, there is an elevator (outside the hotel) that needs to be taken which is functional but very small and old (and requires you to carry up luggage a 5-6 stair steps anyways). once in the hotel, no elevators to the second level of the hotel (only 1 room on that floor and we happened to get that room). we had a lot of luggage so made it more difficult - no bellman or people to help with luggage (minimal staff which includes one desk attendant and one cleaning/breakfast lady) - person at desk doesn't always have great english - daytime ok but in the evening, we asked about a specific tour and he had to call his manager to answer our question because didn't understand. got the job done though - noisy - walls are paper thin and the wood floors creak loudly so you can hear anything and everything outside very clearly. the second floor room is near the breakfast room so you can hear the coffee machine and sounds of plates and silverwear in the morning. bathroom door also very thin - Overall cleanliness is good but we found 2 shirts in our closet when we got in the room so not sure how thorough... - hard to find hotel (sign is very small and have to go through a big wooden door where you need to get buzzed in and that has access to other offices/people there) - only one english tv channel (BBC) Positivies: - BEST location and area (blocks from the pantheon and plaza navona) - Free Wi-Fi (spotty at times) - Day desk attendant is helpful - price is reasonable relative to other places given location - overall cleanliness ok - relatively large rooms (second floor room even has balcony overlooking back patio) Overall: small hotel with not many rooms, minimal staff (one desk attendant and one cleaning/breakfast lady who comes during the day). Overall would recommend this hotel for its great location/value but as described above, several characteristics do NOT make this close to 4 star hotel. Its a clean and safe place to get a room though so if you're not picky and don't need a lot of services/ammenities, it can work well.
