The Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation is a deluxe condominium on the beach at sunny Poipu,located on Kauai's southern shore. The property's lush 35 acres are landscaped with tropical plantings and foliage, an extensive cactus and succulent garden and many relaxing water features.

My husband & I came here for a week-long vacation. The plantation grounds were impecibly clean and well maintained. The rooms ... were adequately sized, with all the amenities one could ask for. It was like our own furnished condo on the beach. Convenient location across from several restrants and other attractions on the south side of the island. We will definitely be back here on our next trip to Kauai!

the roooms are close and with no airconditioning you can hear every thig done and heard next door.we had very nice ... accomdations.This was not the case for everyone.I think you can find other accomdations for the same price.this place is saved by the beach and grounds

For the past 35 years we keep returning to the Kiahuna Plantation Resort. It's still one of the best places to stay in all of ... Kauai. This vacation was the first with our 14 month old grandchild and we had great time together. The least expensive rooms at the Outrigger are located behind the more expensive Marriott Vacation Club Resort.

We went sight seeing, walked on the beach, shopped, enjoyed the restaraunts, attended a family wedding. We would have ... enjoyed a fitness center, pool and a room farther away for a noisy road. Also, easy to use internet service and a heat source would have been nice to have. Previously we have traveled to AZ and CA. There is no comparison to the beauty of Kauai or being so close to the beach and restaraunts.

Poipu Beach is just a short walk away, on the same grounds. Across the street are restaraunts and shops and a golf course. Also there is a spa and other restaraunts at the other resorts, just a short walk away.

The Kiahuna Plantation: Good location, walking distance to beach and great restaurants, roomy units with nice amenities. ... This is a good place to stay if you have a child or children. The drawbacks: The pool is quite a walk- across a fairly busy road. Some units (such as ours) are close to the road and you hear more traffic noise than ocean sounds. People on this island seem to be fascinated by peeling out here at the Poipu shopping center crossroads which is very annoying. For some people, the lack of an AC would be a drawback but we didn't feel it was needed. We were nice and cool day and night. I liked the fresh air.

We enjoyed the casual, relaxed atmosphere at the Kiahuna Plantation Resort. The grounds were very pretty and well ... maintained. The beach was lovely and never crowded. As tennis players, we made good use of the tennis facilities and the staff was very helpful setting up matches for us. The check in was not particularly friendly or welcoming. After having stayed several times At the Mauna Kea Beach Resort on the big island we were used to a much more personal and friendly staff. The condo was spacious. The only negative was that I had to clean the refrigerator door before we used it. The rest of the unit was clean. The condos are older so the bathrooms could use some updating. Not really an issue since we were out and about most of the day.

Beautiful Family Friendly Resort

The Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation is a beautiful spacious family friendly resort. We had a lower level one bedroom and it fit ... us and our two kids perfectly. The room was very quiet. We never heard our neighbors. The only annoying sounds were the early morning roosters (which are all over Kaui) and the sprinklers. We liked the casual island style decor in our room. It was wonderful having a kitchen for making meals (restaurants can be expensive)and table for eating. My kids liked running around on the large grassy area right outside our room. The grounds were lush with beautiful tropical plants and the beach exquisite! Make sure to get your groceries in town as the mini-market across the street is expensive. We only stayed 2 nights and didn't want to leave. We can't wait to go back!

We had expected a hotel room but when we walked in we discovered a bedroom, kitchen, dining room, livingroom and of course a ... bathroom all fully supplied with daily necessities. Out the back door was a two acre suculent garden on the way to the beach. The bed had plumaria flowers on it as well the bathroom and kitchen counter. We were totally supprised and enjoyed our stay.

This condo/hotel sits right between the Marriot and the Sheraton in Poipu. The beach was great and the grounds are beautiful ... and well kept. The rooms have shutters and it was great to open them to feel the evening breeze at night. The pool was a little disappointing but the ocean was great. I wish I could have purchased a cocktail on the beach but I had to go next door for this type of service. I give it thumbs up.

We went to Plantation Gardens, a garden paradise for our honeymoon. We had a partial ocean view that was amazing. The staff ... was friendly and attentive! The condo was spacious and had adequate supplies. Clean and well maintained! We loved walking on the beach every night and took a lot of beautiful garden pictures right on the premises. Quiet, peaceful atmostphere. The orientation was very informative about island activities - recommendations and warnings.

Plantation Gardens had a restaurant and was on the beach. There were expensive restaurants and shopping a short walk away. Other reasonably priced restaurants and shopping were a short drive away. The canyon, the airport, helicopter rides, gardens, sailing, atving, kayaking were a short drive away.

Room was very traditional. My particular room had a terrible view. If your gonna stay here make sure you get an Ocean view ... room. Pool was very far from the hotel. A few nights were hot as the room does not have A\C. Overall pretty enjoyable.
