What an incredible stay! Where to start? From the moment you enter the staff is there expressly to serve your needs! Every ... staff member we met always smiled warmly and asked how you were, do you need anything or just a warm hello. Not the fake, perfunctory smile but genuine. We had a corner suite with fantastic views up and down Michigan Avenue. Join the free Omni Select Guest program and enjoy free wireless internet, daily paper of your choice and the morning coffee delivered each morning at the time you request. Very nice perk. Centrally located to fantastic shopping, restaurants and entertainment all within easy walking distance. The on-site restaurant 676 has a tasty breakfast buffet with anything you could want and the servers attentive without being overbearing. I loved seeing the servers bring the boosters seats for the little girls' American Girl Dolls. Very cute! 5 Stars in every way...cannot wait to return for a longer stay. We will definitely stay at the Omni when we return to Chicago.

Don't be intimidated by the El Chicago Transit system. This is a great way to save money (especially to and from the airport...$4.50 for two people instead of $50). The hotel staff can give you directions, and you end up within a block or two of your destination.

great location for mom and daughter trip
ewp Jun 1, 2009
All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge, the front desk people, the bellmen and doormen answered all ... requests with a smile. My ten year old daughter and I were in Chicago to celebrate her 10th birthday. She loved our room and the soothing music and images they put on the T.V. during the turndown service. She also enjoyed the hotel room view of the Magnicent Mile and the indoor pool.

Chicago is a great place for a parent child trip ... so much to do and the Omni is in walking distance to most everything we did. Highly recommend the Chicago Architecture Foundation river tour, tea at the Drake is both lovely and scruptious, Wrigley Field is a must if the Cubs are in town, John Hancock Observatory is much fun at night you can view fireworks at 10:15 on summer Wednesday and Saturday nights and the Harry Potter exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry is a MUST for Harry Potter fans.

Amazing location and service!
College hunting Mom and Daughter May 31, 2009
My 17 year old daughter and I were in Chicago to visit prospective colleges, but we also managed to do some shopping, eat at ... some great restaurants, and go to Second City comedy club! Our stay at the Omni was fantastic! Everyone from the bell boy who greated us upon our arrival to the amazing front desk staff who did everything they could to enhance our stay, made our three days perfect. We took a swim and a dip into the hot tub every night after walking all over Northwestern or U. of Chicago. The breakfasts at 676 were excellent (the buffet is the best, but I think it's only available on weekends or holidays). The bedroom suite was spacious and beautifully decorated and impeccably clean.

Visiting The Second City comedy club in Olde Towne Chicago was reasonably priced and a lot of fun for all ages (not under 14). The Adobo Grill restaurant was authentic Mexican food at decent prices.

The hotel was fine, I think because of the reputation of the OMNI I was expecting something out of the ordinary and just ... didn't find it. The rooms were no greater than any other hotels of the same caliber and not being able to access the internet was frustrating. The concierge was very helpful and overall the staff was very good.

It's on the Magnificent Mile so shopping was a no brainer and easy to access. In fact the area is nice for coffee shops to walk to and there are beautiful downtown neighborhoods very well maintained.

Nice, but not amazing. Great location.
rek May 26, 2009
The Omni was nice, but it was not amazing & up to my expectations so I will try somewhere else next time. Excellent service ... at check-in & they allowed early check in which was great. Room was nice & clean but I expected nicer for 4 star. The robes were kind of stiff; I expected more of a plush robe. I guess the website pictures always make everything look bigger & better. Same goes for the pool/ hot tub. Nice but smaller than it looks in the picture. We did not get maid service the 2nd day we were there. We finally called & room got cleaned around 5pm. They did send a slice of cake & bottle of water with a card to our room when they found out it was our anniversary. Nice touch. Great location; very central to shopping, dining, Navy Pier, Millenium Park, etc. We walked everywhere! The Omni staff also let us check out late, which really helped with our travel plans. They were quite helpful.
Traveler type: Couples
Check out Brazzaz the Brazilian Steakhouse for lunch during the week. They have an excellent salad bar/ buffet for $20 & for $25 the gauchos come around w/ all different kinds of meat right from the grill. Amazing food & excellent service if you like finer dining for a very reasonable price. The dinner is much more expensive, so go for a late lunch.
