Along the strip there are many places that do henna tattoos. Make sure the person giving you the tattoo gives you A COMPLETE ESTIMATE PLUS TAX PLUS WAX PLUS INK TYPE PLUS DESIGN. I had a rough time trying to get my money back when a 15 dollar henna ended up being about 32 dollars. make sure you're clear on what you're getting costs and that you and the salesperson are on the same page.

Review of Oceanfront Viking Motel
Sedrick Sep 6, 2009
When we arrived at the motel we were given a three hour delay before we were allowed to checkin. We had to go to a service ... station to change clothes. The hotel was offering on the marquis a $69 room rate for the same room I paid $92.01 a night for. They refused to talk to us about the difference in rates. I was charged a $20 key security fee which was not known. We were put in a smoking room and I had reservations for a non-smoking room. The desk told usa there were no non-smoking rooms. Since i have asthma and medical conditions that prevent me from resting in such a iscomfortable setting I was not able to sleep more than one hour interrrupted by breathing difficulties the first night. I asked for a refund and this was denied.I left early without spending the second night due to breathing difficulties inthis room. I called Orbitz on Sunday morning Sept 6, 2009 and was denied the rate change after the clerk told the Orbitz caller that rate changes had been made within the time of my stay. This representative also gathered information to support my early departure date but said he could not help me with my refund. I feel that Orbitz has failed in two areas (1) tpo reimburse me for the difference in rates of what other guests paid compared to what I paid and (2) failure to prvide me a non-smoking room as I requested and was promised in my reservation. I feel that Orbitz should seek a reduction from the $92.01 I paid down to $69 that other people paid and that I should be refunded the total $92.01 for my second night when I was not granted a room safe for my health.

First you must know that when I reserved the room on the phone I specificly noted that I would not arrive until after 11pm on ... 8/18/09. When we arrived at 11:15pm to check into the motel the lobby was closed and dark I went into the building to see if there was anyone to check us in. No one was around and lobby was locked It is difficult to rate a motel when the lobby is closed and no one is there to honor your reservation. So we ended up paying for a room we did not get. They had my cell number and could and should have called to see when our estimated arrival time would be and informing us where to go if the check in office and lobby were closed. What kind of motel closes it lobby/check in at night???????

Had a great time on the strip and shopping in the myrtle beach area. The hotel's in a decent location but it seems it's got ... the same furniture since about 1970. It's a decent hotel but it would have been nice to have better quality of ... just about everything. Even as simple as putting a fitted sheet on a bed it looks nicer and makes the customer feel like you care. Also they have a lot of hidden fees. For instance if you are under 25 be prepared in advanced to pay IN CASH ONLY a fifty dollar fee per person under 25 you can only get it back upon check out between 8am and 11am after your room has been checked. Also only get one key if you can help it, they're 25 dollars if lost (so is your parking pass) and if you plan on having guests make sure there's somewhere available about a block down their car will get towed if it doesn't have the decal and there's limited parking in front of the hotel, there's additional parking across the street but....you won't be able to see your vehicle at all from the hotel. and although its on the beach, most of the rooms face the center rather than actually (beach front) but you can still see the beach from pretty much all the rooms. decent hotel but...i wish i had gone ahead and paid a little more and stayed somewhere a bit nicer.

The hint was the sign behind the desk that said no refunds. The elevator ride to the 5th floor was like skydiving. We took it ... once then walked the steps. The room was awful it had sticky carpeting, and was smelly and dingy. I will sleep in my car the next time. We kept the door open to help with the smell. I tried not to touch anything. I had to tell my children that we would be out of the room as soon as the sun came up. What a night.

Don't Stay Here!
Sayruh Mar 17, 2009
To begin with, I guess you get what you pay for. I was very displeased with The Viking. When I first arrived, I learned that ... I had to be pay a $20 fee for my room keys which is completely rediculous. I've never had to pay a fee for room keys at any other hotel that I've stayed with. The room key fee was later replaced with a $50 fee because my younger brother was travelling with me. He's 19 and I'm 25...apparently I'm not adult enough to watch my brother. But, to be fair, they gave me the deposit back when we checked out. After all that, we had to do a room inventory check list to make sure we didn't get charged for damages that were already there. That's cool. But, the room was not really the cleanest room that I've seen and it smelled smoky and old. But, to top it off there was blood on one of my pillows. Then, all night long, we had people outside of our door fighting. At 3:00 am, I heard people downstairs being loud. I'm assuming they were having a party and in the rules that we had to sign, it clearly says that there is to be no loud noise after a certain time. Anyway, this place sucks! Don't go there!

This was a nice motel that looked recently refurbished. The rooms were a nice relaxing color. Even though it was winter, it ... was great to relax walking on the beach. There are lots of restaurants around in walking distance and lots of great stuff for the kids to do. It was right on the beach and had an oceanview room. We had a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Oceanfront Viking hotel was a nice place on the waterway. We checked in on 8-21-08. We were happy with the size of the room. ... However, be forewarned you must bring your own alarm clock. It was fairly conveinant for all the things we wanted to do. Our only downfall was that we could not go on the Dolphin Cruise due to weather. We had a nice family vacation.

Bugs in my room
Jonathan May 22, 2008
Let me say I was disappointed from the start. There are no services (room service, gym etc) the pool was not at all private, ... and located in the parking lot, oh parking was very limited. Some spaces were available across the street , but no cross walk on a very busy street. Then on the second day came the bugs.... Gross looking bugs, I am not a ug expert, but I thought they were roaches of some kind. I told the front desk, no offer to move us, only they would spray. Well I doubt they did because they kept coming. There were so many I invested in my own can of raid and went so far as to spray every article of clothing and suitcase before we left. So okay, can't control bugs 100% in the area as it is warmer and tropical, but the floors were so dirty my feet were black by the end of the night. Just plain gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A deal for the money
Donna May 7, 2008
We were very pleased to find an oceanfront efficiency for such a great price. It had a refrigerator, stove and sink and a ... coffee pot and toaster were supplied. Our sideview room still had a great view of the ocean and it overlooked the pool. It was a short walk to a restaurant. We also walked the beach to get to another restaurant at the nearest pier. The motel is older and needs to have the linoleum in the bathroom replaced, but it was clean and spacious.

It is a short drive to all types of restaurants. We drove to a seafood buffet at Seafare for which the motel had discount coupons and also ate at the Spring Garden Restaurant just a block from the hotel. We enjoyed lunch and shopping at Broadway at the Beach even though it is a few blocks north.
