It was a good place to do reading of which I did much. The indoor hot tub was a few degrees too hot, unless you are a ... lobster! Otherwise, it was fine and a nice place to spend a few days. A lot of people brought their dogs. They didn't bother me, but anyone not appreciating them might have thought they were taking over the world. . . P.S. saw many dolphins from 11th floor.

I read the reviews, but I booked here anyway because we have a small dog, and we wanted a cheap rate. The location, kitchen, ... ocean view w/balcony, pool and hot tub are great. And, the rate was cheap. But, the room did need minor repairs, and there were some rust here and there, and it wasn't as clean as it should have been. There actually was feces on the bedspread! The stuff was great, but they really need to step up their cleaning and maintenance.

The hotel was good for the price and that it allowed pets. The service was excellent but other than that...the hotel ran out ... of extra bathroom towels and could not give out extra pilows. So you may want to pack your own.

Hotel was relatively clean and quiet. Not bad for a long weekend, but we're unsure if we would return for a longer trip. ... Staff was friendly, but there were minimal items in the kitchen area (no measuring devices, had to ask housekeeping for forks, no large bowls for food prep, one burner on the stove didn't work, and there were 2 microwaves because the one mounted above the stove was broken). Furnishings are sparse and pretty outdated. We mostly stayed in the room due to unexpected illness just before the trip, but we were not bothered by staff. The bed was uncomfortably firm. I've been to worse hotels in Myrtle, but I've also been to better. I definitely don't think the hotel is worth the full price rate, but it's not bad if you get a great deal like we did.

#1 you said we would have a front view of the ocean NOT The sink was plugged with old old sand so they moved us to a room ... below our first and the sink was plugged there also.. The staff was very friendly. I asked about 50 times while on the phone if we would have the front view and was told definitely and was very upset when we did not. The air cond was not working correctly in either room. We either froze or were HOT.

Well for the single good thing, It was a nice view from the 10th floor. We started on the 8th floor and soon as the door was ... opened, the strong smell of smoke hit us. This is supposed to be a "smoke free hotel", well that was not true. We were moved to the 10th floor which had no odor but the walls had been patched and not painted over and the bathroom door had been torn up on the inside (shreaded). This place invites pets and that is good but watch where you step. The beach in front of the hotel and the hotel grounds itself was littered with thousands of cig butts! Would never stay there again. Not worth the cheap price!!!This place need renovation or a better maint, staff! Beware.

The hotel was terrific, the only compliant I had was they keep the fitness center locked so that you have to go up to the ... front desk to get the keys. Close to many restuarants but far enough away from the downtown crush that the beach area is nice and quiet and few locals wander into the resort's pool areas.

Our whole family loved this trip. The hotel's location right on the beach was wonderful. We had two one bedroom oceanfront ... rooms which suited our needs, however, we didn't get the adjoining rooms we requested, and they were pretty far apart. At least they were on the same floor. Our teenage son loved sleeping in the Murphy bed and waking up with the sun on his face. We really enjoyed beachcombing, the whirlpool, and all the adorable dogs. It is an older hotel so there were some cracks and stains but we enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back!

OPR is classified as a 3 star hotel and that shoe fits pretty well. They accept pets which was my biggest factor and they ... have a large grassed area for dogs to "do their business". Only 2 elevators can be a pain in the butt when the hotel is busy. Room was decent,staff was friendly , most of the housekeepers did a good job.Air conditioners worked well butt gave off mildewy smell. Overall, as I stated above, it is probably one of the better "pet friendly" hotels and I would not hesitate to book there again if i was taking a pet. However if you are not taking a pet ,then this hotel is probably less than what you're looking for.

Stay away from those all you can eat seafood buffets. They use cheap, imitation products. If you want real seafood (and who doesn't at the beach) go to a fine dining restaurant and pay the extra price.
