Noisy area, but Very Nice Rooms
Philly Rick Nov 10, 2009
The Good- Very nice, clean hotel rooms. Pool area was small but nice and comfortable. Hotel staff was helpful and ... courteous. The Bad- If you want a quiet area of town, this is not the best spot. It's in the heart of the action, but our room faced Mallory Square, which has a lot of noise and activity going on throughout the day into the evening. If you don't mind that, it's a great location.

Beautiful hotel at best location in Key West .. right next to Mallory Square where all the action is at sunset. Rooms are ... very spacious and immaculate with caribbean type decoration/theme. This is our 4th stay at the Ocean Key and wouldn't go anywhere else (although we've been to a few other hotels). Great food at the Hot Tin Roof. Can't wait to go back again!!

Top location in Key West
Florida Traveler Sep 14, 2009
Great location, probably best in Key West. Expensive by most standards -- but if you are looking for a super special stay ... (anniversary, etc.) it is spectacular. Stayed two nights and never moved the car--hotel is at the tip of Duval street right next to Mallory Square and all the downtown and tourist activities. Valet Parking only -- parking fees normally $20 a night. Well worth it to get covered secured parking in your hotel. Water view room with balcony was immaculate with all amenities. Would re-book without hesitation. Keep in mind that it is Key West, and there are probably better selections for families traveling with children.

Stay to Play
tufsled[@] Sep 12, 2009
Very, Very close to the action, this is not the location for peace and quite.. construction on Malorey Square, and two noisy ... leased boat slips to the FURY crew, makes this the all time noise location in Key West. The Best Rooms have top exposure to these noise factors. All Staff displayed the "Key West" no worries way of life, and service well lets just say it's not The Ritz..... The parking incurs a $20 daily charge,(hidden charge) not worth it, the cigar someone left on my bumper will cost me. The price point on this stay was way high for the value of goods and services received.

Could have been better.
Doc Aug 31, 2009
In order of increasing annoyance. The elevator next to our room did not work. Being on the 3rd floor made it tolerable ... using the stairs but any higher in that heat would be different. The room had no drawers to unpack out belongings. Living out a suitcase for 4 days was a bit difficult. The pool although eventually our favorite spot was unavailable for the first day and a half due to the construction on the pier next door. Crane with power piston was driving pier anchors making the noise unbearable. Finally after repairing a slat on the bed twice myself (probably should have called the first time), it completely collapsed in the middle of the night. We were placed in the room next door for the rest of the night and the problem was fixed the next day. The issues were presented to the front desk at checkout and they of course gave me an apology. I think it will be easy to give another resort a chance next time. Which there will be, because Key West was great.

Jules Jun 22, 2009
Had a great time at Ocean Key - was upgraded to an awesome corner room with views of Sunset Key, the water, and the town - ... Unfortunately got sick one night - can attest to the great room service & super nice server - one waiter even brought me ice cream to make me feel better! The concierges were great at booking trips and scooters for us. The front desk staff very helpful. The hotel is at a great location. The Sunset Pier a must. Very clean. My only complaint was the couch - not much back support. But unless you get sick, you won't spend a lot of time on it!

Honeymoon Destination
J to the C Jun 11, 2009
We booked a stay at the Ocean Key through Orbitz for our honeymoon. The hotel is in prime location on Duval Street just ... blocks from the main drag. A convenient drugstore next door is able to keep you supplied with any items you might need. The check in was very quick and an employee showed us to our room. The room was clean, was already cooled by the air conditioning, and ready to be lived in for a week. Throughout the week we ordered room service a couple times, pricey but worth it. Breakfast on the Balcony under the sunrise was amazing! The maids did wander into our rooms several times while we were in them. The pool had a full service bar and was located right on the Gulf of Mexico. There is a kiosk right outside the hotel lobby where you can book scooter rentals and watercraft rentals too. All in all a very pleasant experience outside of the maid catching me in a towel!

I would recommend the charter fishing in Keywest. I used 6pack charters we caught alot of colorful fish, we were allowed to explore a deserted beach, and best of all we caught the famous Keywest Sunset from the bow of the boat at the conclusion of our fishing adventure. All this in 6 hours for a very reasonable price. Best of all [...]will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. 6pack charters [...]
