Me and my friend went, both 21 year old college students so we really didn't need to have top notch accommodations. The food ... was great never had to wait to long for anything. The pool was very nice. We enjoyed the populated atmosphere and friendliness of everybody Everybody down there looked like they were having a good time. Common complaints people had There wasn't a lot of liquor in your drinks This is easily fixed by just asking for a double shot and if you tip a little bit you get barcadi or smirnoff not the best but look at how much your paying... The pool is to crowded Just move all the way down by the grand oasis by phase 1 I believe. The front desk dude might say its for the Grand Oasis only but they have no idea! So just walk down and ask get a drink. There are still people here but ALOT less. There is no beach. There is just go to the left side as your facing the beach problem solved. The only minor complaints that I had is that checking in took awhile even tho we checked in early. Roughly 45mins to get threw the line and up to our room. The air conditioning in your room really doesn't work well it gets the room semi cool but it just can't keep up with the heat from outside. Other then them 2 complaints you really can't beat the price you pay to get here. If you don't want a lot of younger people don't stay here.

We could not get help from the hotel staff to contact our transportation company from hotel to airport. The transportation rep was rarely at the hotel. We were on vacation and not at the hotel during business hour. We had to cancel our tour the day before departure to wait and see the transporting staff and arranged the pick up time. We did not know which restaurants at the hotel were excluded from our packages. Imagine that you dressed up and walked in a restaurant to find out that you are not allowed to dine because it was not included. Other than that we were happy and had a good time.

Hotel Room & Service was dissappointing
LaCrue Oct 6, 2009
The hotel was very dark and made it hard for my mother to see well in the lobby. The room issues were: Chairs were made of ... IRON and did not have cushions so we could not use them unless we wanted to have a sore backside, Closet would not open and close, shower would not drain, tv did not work, and the room would not get cooler than 79 degrees. It was a terrible experience. I called the front desk and complained the first night and asked for a different room and I was told that I had to wait until the next morning. I could not bare the situation so I went down to the lobby to complain in person and after a very uneccessary back and forth struggle with the lobby staff I got them to agree to send someone up to fix the problems in my current room. All were fixed except for the Air condition. It was hot in our room the whole entire week! Also our fist couple of days we had no wash cloths even though we called down and requested them they brought up the extra larger towels but no wash cloths. Finally I tracked down a cleaning lady and she gave us some wash cloths and did so everyday after that. Please note that I tipped everyone well and expected better service!! The beach is VERY VERY ROCKY at this hotel you can't enjoy it. The food is not very good except for the Mexican dishes they serve in the buffet and the deserts. The itallian dishes were all terrible! They also stated that there was bingo every afternoon at 1:30 and that was not the case it was cancelled often. Things I liked were the pool and the shows!

Jude Sep 19, 2009
Don't waste your money! We upgraded the minute I saw the lobby that was so freaking hot I thought I was gona pass out. It ... cost another 125$ per person to upgraded to what they considered the "best" part of the hotel. I got the following: There was no poolside service, the swim up bar smelled. The chairs had limited cusions and were still uncomfortable. You have to lug the chairs around yourself. There was no music at the pool. The food was horrible in all the resturants. The bathtub in our room clogged and the shower either burned or froze you. They refused to give us more than 2 towels. The beach in front of the hotel has so many rocks you cant swim without hurting yourself. The gym had no AC and had 2 machines. SAVE A FEW EXTRA HUNDRED DOLLARS AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. DON'T DO WHAT I DID AND TRY IT JUST TO SAVE MONEY. YOU GET LESS THAN WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN THIS DUMP!

This hotel seems to encourage day time activity around the resort, rather than night. If you eat at the right places the food ... is amazing! Its open bar all day long..until about 11..then the only open bar is in the club at the hotel. The club at the hotel wasn't the greatest, mostly older people there. It was very warm our first night in our room, but we complained and they came to fix it right away and we were satisfied the rest of the trip. There did however seem to be a little bit of a mildewy smell in the room, nothing too overwelming though. The pool is very big! It has 3 swim-up bars, music, pool activities and stands around the pool (hair braiding, drinks in fruits). The beach water is BEAUTIFUL! the water is veryy cool and refreshing. However there are a bunch of rocks all of the shore making it kinda hard to get around without getting hurt. Overall for under $1000, I was very impressed with the different options of foods and drinks. I think some bad things being said about the hotel are not half as bad as they put off to be. I did find quiet a few ants in our room, but again it wasn't a huge problem. The staff is very nice, good food and drink service, as well as lobby help. they try to do as much as they can for you..but english is not there first language and most of them having trouble understanding. I was a little alarmed after reading different comments but found myself to be very satisfied. Its worth it!

Oasis Cancun - last week of August
Cragga Sep 14, 2009
To say we paid just $500 for everything, this place was great value. If you have impeccably high standards, this may not be ... the place for you, for 20something singles it is perfect. Decent food (especially if you use the phase 2 restaurants as opposed to phase 1), lots of bars (although Mexican bartenders and the fastest moving of people - and most order ridiculous cocktails which take time to make). hotel has organized trips to nightlife every night which includes bottle service and all inclusive bars - for day excursions I suggest you head into town and do it privately as you can normally barter them down to a much cheaper price - the Tulum/Xel-Ha trip was excellent, as was a trip to Isle Mujares. Overall, not the most pristine place you will ever go, but if you can overlook small things, you can have a lot of fun here!

Great party hotel: lots of things to do! Pool bar open 12pm to 6pm, big choice of restaurants, although waiting times are ... ridiculous, entertainment staff at the hotel every night offering packages to go to the city which is a must. Drinks are often watered down but they're free. Close to the mall with tequila museum&gift shop. Not a very good place for kids as there too many drunk young people. But there's Wet'n'Wild close by, so the neighbouring resorts would probably be a better choice. They also offer lots of water sports etc. but there's just not enough time for everything if you're staying for only a week.

Management is not very friendly, the AC did not work in the room I was giving, I could not exchange room till the next day. ... The next day I explained the situation to the front desk manager. He did not want to exchange the room, after arguing with him for 20 minutes, he thought he was doing me a favor by offering an upgrade to a hotel that was an hour away from the Oasis. I told him no! And that I had friends staying here, he continued with the offer and wanted me to ask my friends if they wanted to move too. Is this guy an idiot or what! Will never return to this hotel!

I think patience is a virtue. Well, the queues at check -in, check-out, favorite restaurants like the ones I mentioned have long lines which can be half an hour to an hour depending on the hotel occupancy. The hint will be to go very early!!! Dinner at 6pm or 630pm. That gives you time for even supper or after dinner drinks. I know some will rather go for restaurants with less or no queue, like the international buffets... but the standard of food can be very different! Since you are already there, why not go for the best!
