Good location, comfortable hotel.
Dodge Sep 6, 2009
Very comfortable hotel and a good value at the price. Very good location for touring. Many good restaraunts were within ... walking distance. The room was quiet, and had a large, very comfortable bed. We could have used more storage space, and the lighting was marginal. Otherwise, I was very satisfied.

Nice Location, good value
JP Jul 21, 2009
Hotel was easy to find, about a block from the aircoach drop off point. Check in was smooth and friendly. Room was a nice ... size for Europe. The king size bed was comfortable, although it seemed like two beds combined into one. The tv was small, and very limited in terms of channels (three BBC channels, Sky news, and a couple of movie channels). I did not eat at the hotel restaurant as it was too expensive. There is a convenience store nearby where you can by water and snacks. There are a couple of coffee shops across the street towards Trinity College where you can get coffee and a pastry for only 3.50. There is a take out pizza joint across the street which was pretty good and reasonably priced. If you order a newspaper at the hotel, you WILL get charged at checkout, unlike the US where newspapers are generally complimentary. The card with the listing of newspapers did not indicate the prices of any of the newspapers or that you would be charged.

Save your money and eat breakfast at one of the coffee shops right near the hotel. One has free wifi, too.

Great One Night Stay
Ireland Traveller Jun 15, 2009
The location was fantastic - short walking distance to Trinity College, shopping, restaurants, Temple Bar, castles, and ... cathedrals. The hotel itself was clean, well maintained, and had great service. I'd highly recommend it!

Go see Trinity Collge (especially the Book of Kells) and Dublin Castle...both absolutely beautiful.

Overall, a pretty good experience
Disconoodle Apr 22, 2009
The location is very convenient, it's quiet yet only a short walk to shopping and pub area. Hotel itself is nicely kept, good ... size room. One minor note, very few channels on tv, but you won't want to stay in the room to watch it anyway.

About 15 min walk to temple bar area; "Winding stair" is a crowded but quite nice restaurant. "M Hughs" and "Thomas Reade" are good choices for beer and different kinds of music entertainment.

good location, friendly staff
Julia Jun 29, 2008
The OCallaghan Alexander has a central location, within 10-15 min walking distance into the St stephens Green/Grafton street ... area. I chose it because of its location and based on reviews. The room was comfortable, the amenities good, the only problem was that the air conditioning made some kind of boing like noise about every 15 minutes, which made it rather difficult to sleep and no one seemed to be able to pinpoint the cause.

grafton street is one of the main shopping districts, but can be pricey. if you cross the liffey to jervis shopping center there are more reasonably priced stores. check out cows lane market in temple bar on saturdays for one of a kind jewelry and crafts
